So is it ok to talk about our families?

Strange topic I know as this is obviously what we do on mumsnet a lot of the time.

I noticed that in all the discussions about "old" and "new" mumsnetters, several people said that they used to feel that they knew people better and discuss families by name etc.

I am relatively new here (a couple of months) and I just assumed that it was not done for whatever reason (privacy, stalkers etc?!) Am I wrong? I would love to know more about people eg names and ages of family, partners etc, where you live, what your partners do.

Basically I am just really nosey! If it's not the done thing then sorry for sticking my beak in and just ignore this thread.

Slug - was expecting her to be about six months old - didn't you announce her birth on Mumsnet? Is she really that old already?? A cutie though.

I'm interested GillW. It's amazing considering I wasn't baby orientated before I had ds but now can't get enough of them. What a beautiful smile he has and I'm not just saying that because I think you want to hear it.

I am interested though as the place both you and Slug posted your photos indicates that I can add them to my basket. Does this mean the kids are up for sale and if so what are you raffling them off for? I also found it amusing that underneath the photo I could click on a link if I found the photo offensive. I wondered what would happen if I did that but haven't as yet in case they classify your ds as offensive.

I also thought the sluglet was younger or maybe she's just a mature child!

Sorry meanmum - it only means you can order copies of the photos! It's not a publicly listed page, so it's mostly used for us to send the link to grandparents, etc so they can see the latest pics and get prints if they want them. Mine are on a site called photobox.co.uk who I'd recommend to anyone who has a digital camera and a fast connection to upload their pictures.

So anais you can't just post that little bit. Spill the beans and let us know what you've been up to...

The state v private ed thread seems to be heading the direction of home ed so I guess you might have some opinions on that one.

GillW - he's a cutie isn't he? I love the 'smart' outfit - very sweet.
