Strange topic I know as this is obviously what we do on mumsnet a lot of the time.

I noticed that in all the discussions about "old" and "new" mumsnetters, several people said that they used to feel that they knew people better and discuss families by name etc.

I am relatively new here (a couple of months) and I just assumed that it was not done for whatever reason (privacy, stalkers etc?!) Am I wrong? I would love to know more about people eg names and ages of family, partners etc, where you live, what your partners do.

Basically I am just really nosey! If it's not the done thing then sorry for sticking my beak in and just ignore this thread.

32, living with dh in London, he is 31 and dd is 18 months. No pets!

crystaltips · 06/05/2003 18:55

I am a model.
I have 2 gorgeous children and my DH thinks I walk on water.
I have a huge house - no mortage and a chalet in Aspen and a Villa on Lake Como!

WAKE UP!
WAKE UP!
WAKE UP!

Ooops

I'm overweight - paranoid - have 2 kids that will seek therapy after all the shouting I do and a DH who thinks I should be institutionalised.

crystaltips · 06/05/2003 18:58

I must admit I thought that it was rather brave of Bobsmum to post her website (along with great family photos) on another thread.
There are may things that I have said that I would not like others to link back to me.
Having said that if you know who I am - then it's easy to work out. I have not held back many secrets on Mumsnet!

hello poppets. I'm 45 ( how nice to see I'm not the only one ) P is 44 ( we both have the same birthday !!) dd is 8 and dd is 1. Me too - very very curious. I really love this place. It feels so secure and non-judgemental.

jac34 · 06/05/2003 19:25

I'm 35, DH 38,DS twins 4.5,step DD 8yo.
We live in Wales, am quite happy to talk all day about my family, would love to show pictures, of my beautiful children and handsome DH.
Very happily married, don't mind him knowing what I say about him, he often reads my posts.
In fact DH is a P/T SAHD, and has been iching to contribute to Mumsnet for ages, but as we share a email address, he couldn't regester.
We have been trying to remady this but we're both too computer illiterate.

nerdgirl · 06/05/2003 19:28

I'm 33. DH is 34. Two DSs - 5 and 3 years old. I'm Irish.

SamboM · 06/05/2003 19:29

jac34, go to www.hotmail.com and click on "new account sign-up" which is the second tab on the page. It's really easy to sign up, you can choose your own user name (ie your dh could be [email protected] if someone hasn't already taken it) and it's free. Then he can come to mumsnet too!

Or he could just change the posting name thingy for himself on mumsnet when he is posting.

Claireandrich · 06/05/2003 20:37

I don't mind giving out some info. My name is probably pretty obvious! I am 30 years old. I live in Sheffield, with DH, aged 29. I am a teacher (secondary ICT) - part-time now - and Dh is a solicitor. We have one child - 13 month old DD.

I use another site too (Baby World) and have a couple of pages on there with photos of DD, her birth story and a little about me and DH (not much, not that interesting!).

whymummy · 06/05/2003 20:53

hi nerdgirl, nice to see you again!!!

mammya · 06/05/2003 21:08

Hello everyone, I'll add my bit then.
