Hi my ds is 13m and i find it so hard buying nice things for him. Of course he has got a few bits from mothercare, next, marks and spencers and asda but occasionally i would like him to wear something different. These places never seem to offer anything different, they offer babies acting as old men in shirts and ripped jeans.
There are a few children shops near me and i just can't resist it. For ds first birthday he wore an adorable miniman outfit that was expensive but he looked beautiful.
What do you all think about designer baby clothes?

Hhhhmmm been thinking about this in between working and have come back to say that if I bought dd clothes and had the money to spend on designer gear then I wouldnt buy designer gear Id spend the money on some of the gorgeous eco friendly clothes I see on loads of websites or on some of the fab stuff I see in various markets like Greenwich or on WAHMs websites. They are worth the money IMO and look fantastic and are unusual too. But then as I said before I dont buy dd clothes cos I have no need to at present.

But thats the point it is your opinion, we don't have to agree with you.

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 16:55

and we dont deserve abuse for putting forward our opinions.....

nutcracker · 16/05/2005 16:56

ninah · 16/05/2005 17:01

hunkermunker · 16/05/2005 17:02

I prefer naked children anyway, especially in the summer. Easier to sponge down. Messy little blighters, I've found.

loulabelle222 · 16/05/2005 17:04

i didn't say u had to agree with me , u know what u can all piss off i couldn't care less what you think anymore forget it. I do not need to make friends thank you . I do not have silly internet friends that i cannot see but real people that i take advice from. I just wanted somebody elses opinion thats all, i didn't call anyone anything!

ruthiemum · 16/05/2005 17:06

well loulabelle222 you certainly got peoples opinions and they don't agree with yours so you are telling everyone to p* off, way to go!

ninah · 16/05/2005 17:06

if you dish it out you should learn how to take it

lima · 16/05/2005 17:07

suddenly I'm glad that I'm a 'mature woman'

nutcracker · 16/05/2005 17:07

Loulabelle you did offend people though. If you can't take it don't dish it out.

Lonelymum · 16/05/2005 17:11

Loulabelle, I don't dress my children in designer clothing (in fact, I pride myself on scarcely buying anything unless it is second hand or in sales) but I deplore the way this thread has turned nasty and the childish sniping that goes on. Don't sink to anyone else's level. Leave this thread and go and enjoy your RL and RL friends. Good luck to you!

nutcracker · 16/05/2005 17:12

Oh fgs, she was insulting first or did you miss that bit.

robin3 · 16/05/2005 17:17

I think we should just leave loulabelle to it now.

No one was trying to upset you lou but you have managed to offend a lot of people so I'd bow out now if I were you rather than letting this go on and on and upsetting even more.

I feel entitled to offer advice because I'm so old (35)

hunkermunker · 16/05/2005 17:21

Robin, I agree - especially since she's ageing so quickly:

i am 19 why o why do teenage mothers have to be a chav and single . i am a working mother not on benefits , with my partner and v happy so don't tell me i should have used a condom.
When i was pregnant i was offered to go to one of these places for teenage mums. I was disgusted that in some ways i wasn't treated like any other mother!

By loulabelle222 on Monday, 16 May, 2005 11:50:01 AM

if i am offending anybody i am sorry . I love next, mothercare and all of these places. I just think i have a different outlook on clothes than some of you, maybe because i am young (22) and still into fashion myself. me and my dp work hard for our ds and me buying him clothes is something i just love doing! I just thought there were other people like me. Obviously not.
