Hi my ds is 13m and i find it so hard buying nice things for him. Of course he has got a few bits from mothercare, next, marks and spencers and asda but occasionally i would like him to wear something different. These places never seem to offer anything different, they offer babies acting as old men in shirts and ripped jeans.
There are a few children shops near me and i just can't resist it. For ds first birthday he wore an adorable miniman outfit that was expensive but he looked beautiful.
What do you all think about designer baby clothes?

so your son won't have puked, shit or pissed down them then......

nutcracker · 16/05/2005 16:28

Yeah you wouldn't because you can afford not to but other people can't and thats why charity shops are good for them. It is a chance to pick up some good clothing at a good price.

lima · 16/05/2005 16:30

so loulabelle, do you never sleep in a hotel bed or use a hotel yowel? Dozens if not hundreds of people will have used that bed sheets and towel

Toothache · 16/05/2005 16:30

loulabelle222 - Well I was trying to be diplomatic to you, but you clearly have no manners and have no appreciation or respect for others.

nutcracker · 16/05/2005 16:31

Sorry but it says you are 19 on another thread too.

lima · 16/05/2005 16:31

a yowel? A bit of a Freudian slip

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 16:31

loulabelle - u make me sick. u r a disgrace. i could never ever speak the way you have about such a sensitive issue.

ninah · 16/05/2005 16:31

or what about breathing the air? drinking the water? fish pee in that, y'know

Toothache · 16/05/2005 16:32

GOd I can't believe how angry I am at how rude and snobby and childish and pathetic you are being about other peoples choices!!!!

loulabelle222 · 16/05/2005 16:32

i do normally shop around , i bought him a pair of first walking sandles and in the shop they were £35 online they were £24 that is a saving!

This thread makes me kinda glad I don't have money to waste like that, hate to think I could turn into that type of person.

Preggars · 16/05/2005 16:33

This is quiet a fiesty thread isn't it.

I have given away all my DS baby clothes to dear friends and charity. Only ruined and stained stuff gets binned, which is nearly everthing around the 13m mark as he was so into everything (food stains predominently, these modern nappies do tend to stop 'poo' from going everywhere! In fact, I'm sure I have never seen a poo stain on anything my DS has had - just the brand new wool carpet we foolishly had laid before came home - cream carpet and babies merconmeum. mmm).

I'm more into what looks great, rather than how much it costs, or what label it has on it. Must admit, being a soppy mum, think he looks fab in everything.

jessicasmummy · 16/05/2005 16:33

i dont think the issue is with the clothes/shoes anymore - i think its more to do with your attitude towards other people and snubbing comments.

Toothache · 16/05/2005 16:33

Hear hear Nutty.
I'm off before I start ffs'ing and wtf'ing.

sparklymieow · 16/05/2005 16:33

innit nutcracker, be warned, never ever start on the longtimers on here, you will never win!!

Toothache · 16/05/2005 16:34

SM - Long timers????

sparklymieow · 16/05/2005 16:35

TA you been here a while now ain't ya!!!

loulabelle222 · 16/05/2005 16:35

the main reason i am funny about clothes is because when my ds about 3 months he developed exzema really really bad, he was covered head to foot especially on his face. it was so bad there would be blood everywhere. I have to be careful what he wears because sometimes it does bring his skin up.
I can't buy second hand stuff if i dont know the child because i dont know what the clothes have been washed in

OP posts:
lima · 16/05/2005 16:36

those who got 'life' on here Toothache - with no time off for good behaviour

nutcracker · 16/05/2005 16:36

Erm you would then re wash them in something else though.

sparklymieow · 16/05/2005 16:37

thats fair enough, my Dd2 has exzema too and she can't wear a lot of her sisters clothes, and I have to buy cotton clothes for her.

ninah · 16/05/2005 16:37

I'd rather be a snob about grammar than clothes
