Rushing out to get DD but BS you could try mediaworld.it

viggoandjavier · 27/03/2009 20:37

i enjoyed Jackie Collins
i was 15

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 27/03/2009 21:31

in my teens I also read a few harmony al mare but even more embarassing IMO was being dragged into the horrid danielle steel .

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 27/03/2009 21:37

I read some DS too in my teens , and then there was another one, it was like a Harmony type collection but for teens, in hardback, my bestfriend and I had the whole collection between us

pippi - yes, philadelphia. I added a drop of milk and some lemon juice on the icing I made this morning for school and it was really delicious!

and sorry to hear about ill LOs, hope they all recover soon. DS has been coughing a lot tonigh, but he seems to always have a bit of a cough (tutti sti colpi d'aria e piedi scalzi!)

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 27/03/2009 21:39

sunflower my dd1 has mentioned your ds a few times...

viggoandjavier · 27/03/2009 21:45

my ds wants to give all his italian books to pippi! he announced it last night.

viggoandjavier · 27/03/2009 21:47

i think it is necessary to read some tosh to appreciate the high brow stuff. i was addicted to ragazza in at 15. all those pics of antonio cabrini...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 27/03/2009 21:52

oh and also the romance thing is a much needed thing at that age...

really viggo? how sweet! dd1 is well happy to meet up. I've replied.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 27/03/2009 21:55

pippi, the way he's been today, she can adopt him ! she's so sweet... need to arrange a meet up after Easter...

pippi, yes, that was the only "romance" I got at that age...

OP posts:
DamonBradleylovesPippi · 27/03/2009 22:02

exactly sunflower, that's what a mean. it was a lifeline!!

yes def for the meet-up anytime.

viggoandjavier · 27/03/2009 22:29

have replied too.

he wants to give them to pippi because he is sick of me reading to hm in italian, ungrateful little basdfkjfjlkajsd;ljfdas;l

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 27/03/2009 22:35

viggo, been telling DS that speaking italian is cool (he's got the "cool" thing going at the moment) and that italy are the world football-piston-cup winners so he spoke italian a whole morning the other day... not really working now

francagoestohollywood · 27/03/2009 23:00

Have read some danielle steel as well.
My mum wouldn't allow me to buy Dolly (remember it?) when I was around 13, but luckily a friend of mine who lived in the little village in Piedmont where I spent part of the summer collected the whole issues, so I was able to get a fix then. I also liked Il monello.
And when even younger I used to spend lots of delightful afternoons in said village reading my grandmother's spinster cousins collection of Stop and Confidenze !

We moved from the Uk when ds was 5 and a ahlf and he was still too young to think that speaking in Italian was uncool. Plus his teachers often asked him to tell the class words in Italian and he felt really useful

beforesunrise · 28/03/2009 07:46

yes by why the need for teenage romance at 33??? and vampire teenage romance, at that??/ i think there must be something wrong with my head.

i still remember being forbidden by my dad to read cioe', admittedly i was a bit young (13)...

dd2 is ill- febbre since yesterday, and the nurofen calpol combo barely takes the edge off. wonder whether she has an ear infection or something, as she's moaning a lot which is uncharacteristic for such a sunny baby... i am getting sick too, and typically tonight we are meant to go out for the first time in, well, a year...

Rosa · 28/03/2009 14:50

At school we were told off for reading Jilly Cooper ( ok it was sotto banco ) Danielle Steele for me is a holiday read - it must be either second hand or in the hotels free library. I can read it and then I can't tell you what the story was about - it makes so much of an impression not but it is brainless!
DDs asleep dd1 seems much better now . She is insisting she wants to go to the party this pm so I have said ok but we are not to eat much crap as since yesterday she has eaten tutto in bianco and poco ( its all she has wanted).
The present is a Barbie and as we were wrapping it dd said I don't like Barbie ..DH said phew ( for now )when he was buying it he nearly fell over at the cost of the extras !

Sputnik · 28/03/2009 17:35

My DD has the pukes today. Must be going round.

Rosa · 29/03/2009 13:04

Sputnik sure is at the party were 3 of the 4 that were off sick on Friday but showing no more symptoms and one kid threw up there and then . Today she is without a doubt flat she did a huge very liquid poo but has eaten a huge plate of pasta in bianco. Will see how things go.
Hope your dd is ok soon - it generally seems a 24 hr thing but dd1 seems to be a bit longer !
I hate this hour change it has thrown a complete spanner in the works with minirosa and we had just got the routine pretty much sorted !

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 29/03/2009 18:30

hi all

DS went to a party yesterday, half the class was ill too, cough and vomit... just as we're about to leave..

rosa, same here re routine - DD's having her late afternoon nap now!! dinner will be very late at this rate! and we're off to the consulate tomorrow... oh, joy!

Hello!
Lots of nasty bugs doing the rounds... unless of course it's colpi d'aria!

BS: I think it's quite normal to seek a bit of teenage romanticism, to escape by day to day life. I, for instance, have a crash on scamarcio ...

beforesunrise · 30/03/2009 09:46

mmmph. the clock change has done bugger all to our routine- still up 3 times a night with dd2, and up for the day at 5.30 this morning too. no wonder i need sexy teenage vampires to keep me sane. of course dd1 refuses to have dinner and go to bed on the grounds that it's still "troppo giorno"...

at least dd2 is a bit better now, litres of green snot which she hates me wiping away, but at least the febbre is gone...

francagoestohollywood · 30/03/2009 11:46

Glad to hear she's better BS.

It's grey here, rather depressing. I'm going to the supermarket now

francagoestohollywood · 30/03/2009 14:03

I just picked up a free hair drier with the punti dell'esselunga, called "Rowenta lissima clip & press>> that "stops frizz from the root"...

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 30/03/2009 15:14

BS - that's how DS's routine got ruined 1.5 years ago!! he was going to bed at 7 on the dot, then the days got longer, then went to italy, were on hols there were no routines, and it's been hard since then!! even now it's a battle in the summer because it's "not dark yet"

anyway, went to the consulate this morning - no too bad, though it started bad, as no pushchairs allowed inside (diplomatic safety ) - so pippi remember for tomorrow! or you can leave it outside or in victoria station . And I NEVER take the pushchair, but as there was the 2 of us and DP doesn't use the sling I thought it was nice for him to push her a bit... Blonde bimbo still there, looking a bit scarily tirata. a part from one woman who registered DD, the rest were as cordiali as always.. so tempted to write a letter of complaint... so on the a/form I hadn't put DD's height. I mean, she's nearly 7 months but last time she was measured she was 3 wks old! I don't know! it's not as if she'll be the same length next week!!! "but bisogna mettere q.cosa signora, l'avra' misurata" and then "ma a che cosa le serve il passaporto" he had a point, why spend £70 when she's not going to travel by herself, so in the end I just put her on my passport and DP's, but it's just the tone/way they talk to you... but guess it could have been worse, at least it's done now!

Rosa · 30/03/2009 15:34

well done BS so thats one trauma done - we have to get minirosas ID card but seeing as its me that will have to do the lot I just need the time.
DD did a proper poo today so she will be back at nursery tom .
Well done on your iron - I have punti with a local shop and have about 1000 now so that must mean a pan lid or something.
I am a might PO today so rant ( feel free to skip) This am we had to go to the prete for an incontro for minirosas battisimo. Keeping dd at home re this virus we asked MIL to come and look after dd at home as it was pissing with rain . No she doesn't do that but she will look after SIL boy who is just a bit older. So we took both in the rain.
I woke up feeling a bit heady and hot so went to bed after lunch. MInirosa woke at 3 I waited for dh to get up and take her into the other room but no ....So I got up and have been here with her since. He diddn't even do the bloomin washing up either ! FGS he says I should riposo in the pm when I can as I am fisso stanca but the one time I go to bed he can't rouse himself MEN ARRRGH

Rosa · 30/03/2009 15:35

Opps sorry got my sunshine and sunflowers mixed up ...
