what are the politics of bf?

dd had a very odd day yesterday, thought it was after the head bump but thinking about it some odd things she did occurred before, so just checked her a few times overnight and she is fine today.
her friend is coming this afternoon, wanted to go duck feeding at park this morn but raining and windy and ds now sound asleep in his cot so not going anywhere!

have bought a new top from asda to wear sat night to my friends 60th, big knees up in a pub but I am not sure about the top. Its grey silky tshirt style with shiny and pink butterflies at the ottom left corner...having doubts about going on my own as dh babysitting...

VoodooWithBellsOn · 25/03/2009 11:19

and sods law big party night the night before I go back to work I will be knackered

Jennster · 25/03/2009 11:52

The politics of Breastfeeding is about the insidious advertising of formula milk, the constant undermining the good work of breastfeeding and is to do with the Nestle boycott.

Just ordered the book from the Independent Bookseller of the year

worley · 25/03/2009 14:31

some ones nicked our number plate from my car, went out there this morning and it was gone reported it to the police, but cant afford to get a new one till friday 9pay day), just spent the last of my money for this month in asda.

Macdog · 25/03/2009 14:50

Why on EARTH would someone nick a numberplate

to commit a crime or to just be a pain in the ass?

VoodooWithBellsOn · 26/03/2009 13:01

jenn - whats the nestle boycott?

I remember the scandal when the formula paople went to Africa to persuade the mums there their product was better than breast milk, ended up lots of babies dying as they couldnt sterilise etc

Jennster · 26/03/2009 13:01

Did it have cool initials on it like LFC or PNE or like my old neighbours could be conceived of saying Blowjob?

Jennster · 26/03/2009 13:03

Yep because of that (and they are still doing it all over the world) I boycott nestle products. It's really difficult too as they are everywhere. Here

VoodooWithBellsOn · 26/03/2009 13:04

I feel really weird, light headed and spaced out, and v tired. prob fighting off a bug. going to have a pm nap.

playgroup was very tiring, dd soaked her clothes in the water tray again, and has now just soaked her second trousers of the day paddling in a big puddle in the garden, unsupervised while I changed ds nappy!

yesterday while her friend was here they quietly coloured pictures in the kitchen. dd did lots of green smiling faces...a few mins later I found more smiling green faces on my cream material dining chair seat.

''ooh Ive been naughty coloured chair green'
eek.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 26/03/2009 13:05

I took a picture of the green faces. strangely cute.
when those two girls get together there is always trouble

worley · 26/03/2009 16:52

lol at green colouring, when my brother was little my parents went to bed and checked in on my brother to find he had felt tip coloured the whole of his face in !!!!! he has never been allowed to forget it, they took a picture to keep too, they would also check on him to find him under his bed complete with pillow and duvet to, i never used to do that as my hair used to get caught in the metal spings things the matress was on.

nope, wasn't a cool reg, it ended kbm, so unless it's some ones initals? i cant think of anything it stands for.

toad in the hole for tea[mmm]

worley · 26/03/2009 16:55

jenn, come work with me well, next to our dept anyway.

Macdog · 26/03/2009 17:55

I am unashamedly a very proud mummy today.

dd went to swimming as normal, then decided to swim along with her face underwater.
Instructor has taken her down to one of her disc armbands on each arm (started today's lesson with 3!!)

She is so frighteningly close to swimming solo.

That is all....as you were!

Found out we'd missed the bit on the newsletter that said we had to let them know if we wanted dd to go swimming. It's too late know and unless somebody drops out, it's going to be September before she can go. It's silly but it really really upset me. I used to take dd before ds was born, and then it was impossible. I've got 6 weeks of us being able to take them at the weekend and then that's it. She loves going to the swimming pool too. I'm crying now thinking about it.

Jennster · 26/03/2009 20:17

But bloody well done Macpup

Macdog · 26/03/2009 20:27

Hope someone drops out (in a nice way of course)
Such a shame if she has to miss out

Well it's made me look into swimming lessons at the local pool. Problem is, the dc would be in different age groups, and neither pool is easy to get to, parking is a nightmare. Oh poo. How selfish am I?

worley · 26/03/2009 22:25

the waiting list here for ds2 to start lessons is so long he wont be 5 until he gets lessons, but we go regularly with him and dp is qualified as life guard and his work wants him to train as instructor for the kids in the home, so will be usefull. ds1 left his swimming club last year after mil died as i couldnt keep it up as well as looking after dp's brother, but he can swim, he may not have the finesse some of them do, but he can swim lenghths and thats all im worried about. he has swimming lessons in the school pool,

worley · 26/03/2009 22:26

we live so close to the sea and the broads here, it would worry me either of them not swimming.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 27/03/2009 11:48

I am not fussed about dd swimming till she is 5 or thereabouts, it is nigh on impossible with ds too unless dh comes and he is very fussy about his eyes (he has kerataconas and has had a corneal graft) so understandable..
we went to a new park today and had to walk next to a canal so did make me think. Everythime I tried to grab her hand she darted off in temper, getting closer to the water. so I just left her to it but got her to walk on the other side of the buggy away from the edge, in the end I grabbed her arm but she had a complete tantrum. will use reins next time we go there.
the playground bit was ace though, for under 5s. great to see her in one swing and ds in the next one. took loads of pics with my phone. they had a roundabout for little ones shaped like a planet! but dd disliked as made her all 'wiggly wobbly'
now its tipping down again, even bit of hail.

VoodooWithBellsOn · 27/03/2009 11:50

wind/rain/hail/bright sun/wind/rain/hail
wonderful. darent go out, dash out, wear scarf too hot one minute, freezing the next

Jennster · 27/03/2009 13:28

Just done my natal hypnotherapy, walked to village for supplies, been swimming and had oven on timer to make lovely proper baked spuds for lunch. Just off for a nap I think.

Macdog · 27/03/2009 18:23

had good day jumping in puddles and dodging downpours.
Hoping dd will give me a long lie tomorrow.
Off to Culzean again for a picnic
