Good morning everyone. Another early start for us here.... Grrrr... 4.45am!!!
Sorry I disappeared (baby wanted boob ): yes, hot, have read MP. Not my fave though. Agree, Fanny is a bit of a nuisance.
I'm disappointed I missed all the chat last night.
Waltz with Bashir & Changeling are both good; WwB better - very surreal and distressing, but a brave film given the topic; Changeling is quite typical Eastwood: solid historicism, elegant cinematography, straightforward narrative with mildly liberal undertone, well acted. But very upsetting indeed: kidnap and brutal murder of children. Jolie is surprisingly good - you can even manage to ignore how stupidly beautiful she is long enough to enjoy her performance.
Read a bit more of RR last night. Argh, it's good, but so uncomfortable. I feel a bit sordid reading it!
We're doing BLW with DD. We've (well I ) stopped cooking with salt, and just offer her pieces of what we're having (e.g. lasagne last night). It is terribly messy, but you get used to that - quick wipe around with a big cloth.
I couldn't have gone down the whole special puree/pappa/brodo route. I'm too lazy! She's getting on well - tries everything (smelly cheese, pasta, bread, gnocchi, curry, steak, veggies, fruit, you name it). In fact, there's nothing we've offered her (even brussel sprouts at Christmas) that she hasn't had a good try at! She's only just getting the hang of swallowing most of it now though: the difference with BLW is that because they have to learn to chew and move the food to the back of their mouth and swallow, it takes them longer to eat as much as babies on puree (which, being delivered by spoon to the back of the mouth, goes straight down sooner). The idea is that BLW babies are happier dealing with lumps and chunks later (so there isn't a potentially difficult transition phase) and are hopefully more accepting of more foods because they tried them in their own time. Howevever, like all things, it's a baby fashion/orthodoxy, so I'm in no way evangelical or dogmatic about it!
franca - 200 people were trapped in snow in Devon last night, near Exeter - they were housed in a village called Chudleigh - do you know it?
