Just wondering what you think of this artist's work

(it's not controversial modern art done with blood or poo, I just kind of like the bloke's style)

Not sure I like the Georgia O'Keefe ks.. but took a 2nd look .. felt a little chocolate boxy .. oh how much you lose over the internet I'm sure it would be totally different in a gallery (then I'd probably really hate it )

Your Cuban artist is definitely influenced by my favourite artist of all time, Picasso, Twig.

Your initial paintings strongly remind me of Miro, Bundle.

One of the very best exhibitions I went to years ago in London was American Art in the 20th Century
showing all the fantastic Rothkos, Kleines, de Koonings etc etc

Was that at the Tate cam, i went to that one

wild · 23/03/2005 09:18

like your Niall Rea's Beetroot. Also a big fan of Patrick Heron, tho, bundle, they don't reproduce well here, they're vast with lots of fresh air, like being in a landscape

As I was walking to the pub last night, I peered in someone's window and saw a Klee print .. now I loved Klee for a long time, but I've gone off him .. I think I might be a snob .. the more I see 'prints' around of an artist .. the less I like him /her

Like bloody Kandinski

Twiglett · 23/03/2005 09:21

Cam, I agree ... but find it weird because I don't really like Picasso abstracts (I know that's what he's known for) .. but I saw an exhibition of his earlier work in Barcelona and loved it (I also saw Victoria Wood in the cafe after but that's another story )

OP posts:
Twiglett · 23/03/2005 09:21

yes FF .. god yes .. Kandinski .. arrghhh if I see another bloody Kandinski print I'll scream (oh and Rodin too ... Cambodian bloody dancers are everywhere)

you what you mean twiglett
Love constable sketches of clouds, and the paintings in real life but uggh the tablemats
it's not a fashionable view but there's nothing like the original, where you can see the touch

Yes at Tate Britain when it was just the Tate as there was no Tate Modern then.

Curious as to what you think of this artist. You'll need click on the galleries in the "view paintings" bit on the homepage to see the paintings. I can't make my mind up. Some I like (Distant Tide under the "Firbob & Peacock" link} for example and others I think wtf?!
