What time does your 10, 8, 6 or 3 year old go to bed. I will abide by the consensus.

I think I've allowed things to go too far with my childrens' bedtimes and it's time for a rethink. So tell me about your bedtimes please.

I will present this thread as evidence to counter the claims about their school friends going to bed at midnight etc.

Icanseethesea · 02/11/2008 20:33

I like the DDs (12 and 10) to be heading upstairs at 8 - 8.30pm on a school night, ds (7) needs to be in bed by 7.30, for his sake and mine!

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 20:34

Okay, it is so rare that my older dcs (12, 9 and 7) sleep before 10 that they tend not to go to bed much before 9.
My 3yo, if she hasn't napped, needs to sleep by 7/8. If she has napped, then the same as the others.

eandh · 02/11/2008 20:35

dd1 is just 4 and in bed by 6.45 and lights out by 7 probably goes to sleep around 7.15

dd2 is 6.15-6.30 but shes only 22months!!

Just had a big fight with my 3.
They're 10,9 and 8.
Usually, let them go to bed at 7 but watch telly until 8.
Big rows, but at least they're in bed.

janeite · 02/11/2008 20:40

11 and 13 year old dds - bedtime is 9.00 on a school night, although they insist that none of their friends go to bed before 11!

SmugColditz · 02/11/2008 20:40

5.5 year old (year 1) goes to bed at 7.45

asdmumandteacher · 02/11/2008 20:41

5yo - 7pm
9yo - 8.15pm

CatMandu · 02/11/2008 20:41

dd1 (9) - 8.30 except typically she's still up and I hadn't noticed (she's got the notion of be quiet and they won't notice).

dd2 (6) - 7.30
ds (5) - 7.30

All have half an hour reading time in bed.

MatNanPlus · 02/11/2008 20:42

Friends DS approaching 7 upstairs at 7, stories 7.15-7.30 then story cd, she goes up to do light at 8, he is usually asleep by then.

Spidermama · 02/11/2008 20:42

TooTicky mine are just the same as yours. I think I'm going to try to get them in bed earlier. My main problem is that I have three boys aged 9, 6 and 3 all in one room, albeit a big one.

Dd2 (6) - 8pm

Dd3 (15 months) - 6pm

Judge away

Plonker · 02/11/2008 20:43

Stinkyfeet · 02/11/2008 20:43

2.8 yr and 5.6 yr olds in bed around 7, asleep by 7.30

roisin · 02/11/2008 20:43

ds2 (9) goes upstairs at 7pm, lights off at 8.
ds1 (11) goes upstairs at 7.30, lights off at 9.

"Upstairs" means no TV, PC, computer games, etc. They can read or play with toys (individually not together).

TooTicky · 02/11/2008 20:44

Yes, I think I need to change to a "winter bedtime" because they do get more tired. Also, it is warmer in bed!!

GunpowderTreasonAndLemon · 02/11/2008 20:45

DS (3) normally 7.30 (followed by story in bed).
