Morning everyone
Just received a copy of DS1's Disney commercials he did, is really funny seeing him on tv and having words to say too! lol

DS1 has a tv casting on Wednesday, anyone else got anything coming up? We have officially had a whole week off from a casting now and I have really enjoyed it!!

goingfor3 · 07/11/2008 10:23

Hi there, I'm in WGC so about 25 mins to Kings Cross.

Rosiemw · 07/11/2008 11:39

Hi everyone. I have been lurking and reading with interest. My dd (15m) has been accepted by Kids London, which I was delighted about so signed the contract last week and sent it back

. She's also shortlisted by UA, but I wonder if it's really worth the faff, given that KL are pretty good too, and aren't costing us anything.

I'm also wanting to give KL some better photos - since the ones I sent have me in them as well, which is probably a bit offputting. Any suggestions of what type work well? And how many should I send?

Any advice welcome on whether to bother going to the UA thing, and what sort of photos to send. I'm a bit new and baffled by all this - but my daughter does love a camera, so I'm sure she'd enjoy herself, anyway

MelodyDaisy · 07/11/2008 12:15

Congrats on KL and ua !!
Don't know what decision I would make but seems like you have already been doing the process with KL so may be best to stick with them. They#d get notification of the same jobs anyway!

yummymummyno1-How old are you DC? They done modelling before?

hiya

hi goingfor3! Thanks for the thread tip .

have just joined up my DS2 with bizzykidz- they did accept my DD too but I couldnt quite stomach 2 joining fees at once- so I thought I'd try out the baby first! My DS2 is just 1 years old. Hopefully he will get asked to some castings but I am not expecting too much- but I figured if you don't try...

Would you guys recommend putting him in their 'look book'? Or is website fine on it's own?

Any advice most welcome .

Curlylox · 07/11/2008 17:21

goingfor3 - I live in WGC too

goingfor3 · 07/11/2008 17:25

That's funny curlylox, how old are your children?

Curlylox · 07/11/2008 17:31

A DS of 19 and a DD 4 or and strongly considering following your nickname iyswim!

yummymummyno1 · 07/11/2008 17:41

Melody - my ds is 7 and dd is 8. They have not done modelling before so all new to us. Started with ds first as got a good strong 'commercial' look (blonde hair, blue eyes) has done one job so far and casting. Felt a bit guilty about dd but couldn't afford start up costs for two and wasn't sure if she has the 'look' - she is pale with ginger hair and freckles and gappy teeth!! (still beautiful though) Anyway she has consultation with UA so must've had something they liked. How old are your DC?

Totallyfloaty35 · 07/11/2008 18:35

yummy, ginger kids very popular in modelling.TRY KL,B&B for no start up costs

marymay · 07/11/2008 19:01

I was just about to say that. ds did a job with a ginger haired girl from u/a .Her mum told me she had done some really good jobs.

goingfor3 · 07/11/2008 19:27

Curlylox my dd2 is the same age as yours, she's still at pre-school but goes to school in Jan. Number three is 5 months old, I think I should change my name to stressedoutmotherofthree!!!!

Honeyapple I wouldn't bother with the lookbook for a one year old as you will need to send regular updates as they change so much at that age.

yummymummyno1 Ginger and freckles are certainly good!!! DD1 has freckles and her hair looks ginger in some lights and she does quite well.

yummymummyno1 · 07/11/2008 20:19

You are all getting me excited now!! - Will see how the consultation goes but am trying not to build up my hopes.

MelodyDaisy · 07/11/2008 20:35

What agency do you have your DS with?

Mine are DS1 9, DD 5 and DS2 3.

Like others have said, there is a strong market for kiddies with that look, should do well
Just on my way on a night out, YIPEE!! Has been sooo long

Hi

there is a new group set up on msn

groups.msn.com/ChildModels

I am thinking of joining.

Housemum · 08/11/2008 00:46

Any idea who the group is? Only there was a bit of a problem a couple of years back, a web forum where no-one is quite sure whether the site owner was naive, a bit dim, a con artist, or a more sinister purpose? Don't want to go into all the details, things got pretty heavy on the MN forums, but just be careful who you are speaking to - make sure you are happy and be careful what details you give out.

julie4travel · 08/11/2008 09:43

yummymummyno1 - one of mine is a red head (we dont often call it ginger, some people call it orange because its really bright!), although not loads of jobs the ones we have had have been really nice ones. m and s used red heads on the back to school campaign this year as people kept thinking one was my dc! there is a market for it.
