Just received a copy of DS1's Disney commercials he did, is really funny seeing him on tv and having words to say too! lol

DS1 has a tv casting on Wednesday, anyone else got anything coming up? We have officially had a whole week off from a casting now and I have really enjoyed it!!

Thank you melodydaisy - you've been great. i dont want to rush anything. It would be great if it worked out. gets me out the house i guess. being a first time mum can be really tiring!!!

mummyshoneys · 16/11/2008 11:12

haveabreak - I agree with MD, don't make a hasty decision - wait until all the agencies you have applied have responded and then weigh up your options - reading this thread will give you lots of opinions on agencies

Thanks mummyshoneys. so far i have had babyshak, childsplay, Tuesday Child Agency, Model direct and Model 909 offered my son a place. I have been told models direct are a scam so I wont be using them. The others apart from babyshak dont even appear on the alba's list. I have applied to a few more - see what comes out of that and then make my decision. fingers crossed :-)

Totallyfloaty35 · 16/11/2008 23:09

havabreak,model909 also a scam,please avoid

Serenbach · 17/11/2008 10:06

Haveabreak,

If you are located in the North I would say wait for either Boss or Urban Angels North to reopen their books. You could also try Bizzykids as they take on nationwide however the only people I know who are successful with them are located in the South, I'm unsure as to how much work they'd get in the North.
There is an Agency near Sheffield (if you're close to there) called DK Models - they are not a scam however I've heard mixed reports from parents who have signed their lo's up...I believe they have a lot of children on their books which can result in less work being offered.

Serenbach · 17/11/2008 10:08

Haveabreak - sorry just seen that your DS is only 3 months. Most Agencies will see babies throughout the year so try applying to BK, Boss or UAN. Good luck xx

JeanGrey · 17/11/2008 12:25

Hello ladies,

Anyone had any work from MOT recently? I am still waiting....

ichef · 17/11/2008 12:59

Hi everyone just came back from a lovely surprise trip organized by dh.

dreadlocks just had a look there's only one photo of a boy playing with a blonde girl and he's wearing a green t-shirt, could it be your ds? I'll try to scan it today and send it to you, hope it works as my scanner isn't very friendly!!

Totallyfloaty35 · 17/11/2008 15:53

christabel · 17/11/2008 17:20

Anyone know when UAN or UA website up and running.

puffling · 17/11/2008 21:23

No. UA site gone dead again, hoping that means there'll be a new one tomorow.

sobusy · 18/11/2008 21:04

UAN site - Sarah said it should be the end of the week. Said it looks fantastic, but, still have a few corrections to make. Web designers in China, language barrier and they work when we are asleep. Should be worth the wait.

Grumpalina · 19/11/2008 21:26

DS2 just got his first casting for NSPCC in Manchester!! We're with UAN. Very excited. DS1 has also had an availability check for the Liverpool Echo for a Christmas shoot. It's not paid but will be good experience if he's picked.

christabel · 19/11/2008 22:30

Grumpalina - Well done and good luck with first casting - we are with UAN so hopefully DD will get job/casting soon - saying that they always say quiet around Christmas time.

marymay · 20/11/2008 09:27

Grumpalina...My dd has a casting for the NSPCC today, but its in london .I think they are casting far and wide for this one.
good luck to your ds .how old is he ?
my dd 12

MelodyDaisy · 20/11/2008 16:04

Grumpalina and marymary- How did your castings go yesterday? Fingers crossed

My ds1 has a casting tomorrow for a Kingsmill commercial, anyone else going?

grumpalina · 20/11/2008 18:55

DS2 (aged 4) had his casting today for NSPCC. DP took him. Apparantly there were loads of kids there and it was for a video shoot. They asked DS2 about himself and although usually a complete chatter box wouldn't say a word. He then had to sit in a pram and look sad (DP said he looked anything but sad!!) He also had to say 'Help' a few times. DP doesn't think DS2 stands a chance as he just doesn't have the acting skills although DP did feel he was the cutest child there !!!!!!

However it was his first casting so it was a good experience for all of us as we really didn't know what to expect.

sobusy · 20/11/2008 22:52

Grumpalina, I'm sure he was the cutest kid there. Brilliant your DS got to attend a brilliant casting, I hope it goes well for him.

Did you have to wait long to go in if there were loads there? I hate waiting, although should get used to it in this industry.

sobusy · 20/11/2008 22:55

Melodydaisy, good luck with the Kingsmill casting tomorrow. Where is it? and please let us know how it went.x
