Morning all
September's thread was very long so thought best to start a new thread as Brooke77 suggested too!

Am off to London again tomorrow for DS1 has a tv show casting, anyone have anything coming up?

Any of you had contract's through from UAN yet?

hi melodyd -the job is,I believe, the weekend (yes!! weekend!!) after bonfire night, so not for a while yet, not sure when to expect to hear back if it is a yes, but I am getting pretty reasonable at waiting now!

I also felt the photo shoot is worth doing liahgen, might as well give them the best shot at it.

x

lyndall · 24/10/2008 19:08

Thanks again Liahgen. Hope you don't mind me asking another question - how many jobs / castings does each of your children get a year on average?

ichef · 24/10/2008 19:44

Hi all lots going on here!

Brooke well done! My DD and DS2 are both with KL and although we had a shaky start we're now extremely happy with them, DS2 had his third job and they are very professional, can be quite abrupt but they're excellent at what they do. Will you sign dd with them or wait to hear from UA?

lyndall · 24/10/2008 21:18

Hi ichef, are your DC in the KL model book? How long have you been with KL?

Housemum · 24/10/2008 22:06

Lyndall, to give you an idea DD2 is 5 yrs old, she has done 9 jobs this year (5 for same company, website photo jobs). Only 3 of these were term time.

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 23:01

G has had about 10-12 ish, this year, some of those for same companies ie. Twice elc, 3 times asda, etc

H has done about 7 jobs this year.

We had a really busy period when H had at least a job per week sometimes 2, that was when he was 5/6, can be a really busy age, especially if photographers take a liking to you. We had one who loved H and G,(she met G at a job for H when G was 4 days old!!)and would ask for them all the time, no matter who the job was for.

Sometimes it really is who you know aswell.

Most of ours are in term time however.

Hi

Still losing sleep over ES.

mummychris · 25/10/2008 10:06

Does anyone no of a good modelling agency in the midlands?

Totallyfloaty35 · 25/10/2008 10:53

joflow, email lauren at mot if you want a reply as they good at losing applications. Also email or phone AK to ask what work they have had for your childs age group and how many kids same age,do the same to es then choose, good luck

ichef · 25/10/2008 13:22

Melody were you at Burberry casting yesterday?

joflow I had to email MOT twice before they replied to us so might be worth trying again? Some people say they reply very quickly if you post photos but I couldn't be bothered.

joflow · 25/10/2008 13:28

Hi

Thanks i will

joflow · 25/10/2008 13:30

Hi ichef

Sorry if asked before forget as moves fast and terrible memory how old are your kids and r they with MOT?

lyndall · 25/10/2008 13:40

Thanks Liahgen and Housemum. My DC is with KL but it has been quiet for him - although to be fair we have been away when KL have called on at least 4 occasions (so typical!) He is not in the model book and I have often wondered if it would make a difference although I know of children who are not in the book and still get lots of work. I don't fancy paying out £170 for nothing but then again you are right Liahgen when you say you can recoup that after only one job. Too late for this year anyway but food for thought next year (if DS is still interested in modelling!)

MelodyDaisy · 25/10/2008 16:53

Ichef-No we weren't there, how did it all go?
Taking the kids to a fireworks display in a while, will be DS2's first one, I so hope he isn't terrified of them

marymay · 25/10/2008 17:03

ichef ...I was there with dd .She was number 286.So they didnt see many children LOL.
Dont think she will be getting a call back for that one.
What number was your dd or ds ?

lea23 · 25/10/2008 23:30

Hello just wondering if anyone has any experience with rascals? Just signed my LO up with them. She was with babyshak but had nothing in 7 months and hoping rascals has less kids on their books?

brooke77 · 26/10/2008 08:11

hi lea23.. my dd is with rascals.. shes done quite well this year.. contract is up soon and i would be happy to stay other than i dont want to pay high fees again.. i think they are a very good agency and they certainly get lots of work.. good luck with it ! how old is your lo?

joflow · 26/10/2008 08:49

Hi brooke

Your contract is up soon same situation as me (diffrent agency) i was wondering who are you going to apply to?

brooke77 · 26/10/2008 09:15

hi joflow.. dd has been accepted by KL and i've applied to UA, but not sure whether to wait or not!!!
who have you applied to? how old is your lo?

joflow · 26/10/2008 10:20

Hi Brooke

My ds is 3 next month. I have applied to UA,MOT awating reply he has been accepted by ES,BK.AK,KK,I applied to KL,BB but 1 said another boy similar try later and the other too many in age group. SW have also asked to represent him another year but still unsure.

joflow · 26/10/2008 10:30

Brooke

KL are very good agency have seen them on casting and when i phoned companies like Next, ted baker etc they recomended ES,KL,BB and UA. Welldone KL are very selective you have to go with who you feel is right for your LO.How old is your LO. It is hard i cant make my mind up but ES are at the top i know high set up but been in business along time must be doing somethink right. I havent meet anyone who is currently with them on this thread only one who had experince but LO was baby.I keep hearing they r gd for babies so stll unsure.

brooke77 · 26/10/2008 10:33

MOT very slow to respond.. UA is a long selection process..
which do u fancy so far of those your ds has been accepted at?

ichef · 26/10/2008 10:38

marymay they were numbers 213 and 214 wonder how many kids they saw in total way too busy for my liking there were all types of age and looks, not sure how they manage to choose a few kids.

joflow dd and ds2 are with kl and ds2 is with ua

brooke77 · 26/10/2008 10:40

hi ichef.. thanks for your post before.. good to hear you are happy with KL !

joflow · 26/10/2008 10:45

Hi

Iam thinking maybe stay with SW or ES but also U/A only problem they take long to select and you only have 30 days when accepted by others ie ES and SW. MOT are good but i have heard on thread they have slowed down and are more intrsted in adult section?

I just want to make right choice as my DS was born for this he is so comfortable with camera and loves being centre of attention. He has such a funny personalitiy i think if he got more castings he would do well especially for his age.
