Morning all
September's thread was very long so thought best to start a new thread as Brooke77 suggested too!

Am off to London again tomorrow for DS1 has a tv show casting, anyone have anything coming up?

Any of you had contract's through from UAN yet?

OP posts:
goingfor3 · 24/10/2008 10:10

Brooke KL are very good, one of the top child agencies. Well done!

joflow · 24/10/2008 10:30

Hi brook

Thats great they are one of the best and very selective.

Sequin1 · 24/10/2008 10:39

Just out of interest what would you opinions be on say the top 4 london agencies?

goingfor3 · 24/10/2008 10:46

KL, B&B, UA. MOT where considered to be one of the best too but at a job recently I heard someone say they are not so highly regarded for kids anymore.

Totallyfloaty35 · 24/10/2008 11:11

my eldest 2 with mot, we not had a single call for months.Have been told by agency they quiet at the mo and heard from others that have been with them years that the work has really dropped off recently

dreadlocks · 24/10/2008 11:38

Joflow
We have been with Sw for 3 years and been happy, we have had quiet periods and very busy ones. I would agree with Marymay that they seem to be getting more tv/film castings this year than in the past.Ds is 13, if you got their newsletter my ds is the one mentioned in the film section ,second one down, so for us they have been good.
we seem to have done more commercials than modelling.
hope this helps, thought it is so different for each child.

brooke77 · 24/10/2008 12:36

thanks joflow and totally.. i know they are very good so very happy to have been accepted. DD's contract is up with Rascals soon and although been happy with them, dont really want to pay big fees again, so looking around. Also waiting on UA. Anyone with 2/3 yr olds with KL, I'd be very interested to hear how its going ! thanks so much.
PS. I've also heard MOT not so good at the mo and that they are concentrated moreso on their adult division.

thewiggles · 24/10/2008 13:03

My little one was with KL from aged 1 year to 3 and a half. In that time she had 2 jobs. Not sure if it was an age thing or just her! I beleive they have their favourites and if you are on the list FAB, if not..... BUT everyone is different and I hope they work out for you.

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 13:30

Hi Brooke,

Mine are with Kl, and have been for years. Wouldn't be enough room to list everything they've done with them, They are great.

Having said that, not as busy as some for tv work, and particularly films, etc. They get commercials and idents and such like.

Once you get to know them, they're lovely. Sue can come across a bit abrubpt sometimes but that's just her way.

We going there on Weds for this years book/website pics

Quiet periods do seem to be the 2-3 yrs slot ime.

Well done. Enjoy

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 13:31

Sorry I am normally Liahgen

brooke77 · 24/10/2008 13:52

hi liaghen and wiggles.. many thanks for that.. good to hear you are having success with KL ! wondering if i can mayb email u to ask a couple more questions?

lyndall · 24/10/2008 14:01

Liagen
Have your DC been in the model book every year? I am wondering whether it makes any difference in terms of amount of work etc.

mummyshoneys · 24/10/2008 14:51

Hi all

Well done brooke77, my 3 are with KL - but we are quite new - only since august - 2 of them have had casting and ds has just had an availability check. We are very happy with KL so far and find them very professional. Can't really comment on age as mine are a bit older - but good luck!

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 15:21

Brooke feel free to email me.

[email protected]

Lyndall, we missed book once or twice and it makes a BIG difference. Tis only £170 per child, so good value. One job and you got money back. It's the only thing I take out of the kids earnings.

Mummyhoneys are yours going in book this year?

brooke77 · 24/10/2008 15:36

liaghen.. brill, thanks will email you shortly !

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 16:02

brooke you have mail.

mummyshoneys · 24/10/2008 16:02

liaghen - yes, we did the pics a couple of weeks ago - the kids had fun! Good luck with yours on Wednesday - I don't think they are doing an actual book tho' I think it is just the website - although - can't be sure!

mummyshoneys · 24/10/2008 16:05

Anyone on here know what the chances of an availability check actually turning into a job are? Don't want to get too excited!!! I have already posted this elsewhere - so bear with me those that have read this before!!

x

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 16:05

yeah it is the website but us oldies still refer to it as the book as it used to be.

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 16:06

tis very random an availability check tbh.
sometimes comas off, sometimes you neverhear anything ever again.

How did you like Sue? How old are your dc's

mummyshoneys · 24/10/2008 16:37

yes, as I thought! That's the nature of it I suppose - lots of waiting.

I really liked Sue, and the rest of the team too - I feel like the kids are in experienced hands - they are 5, 9 and 13 - how old are yours?

MelodyDaisy · 24/10/2008 18:30

Blimey, that is alot of money for the photograph's!! In the bin goes the lovely idea of supposedly low start up costs!!

I really hope you hear back mummyshoneys, when was your availability check for?

OP posts:
lyndall · 24/10/2008 18:42

Thanks Liahgen. Do you think the model book children get more work because the photographs are professional pics, or is it because there are certain jobs they only put the model book children forward for?

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 18:52

no Lyndall, its mostly because alot of casting people go through the book before they even approach the agency. Then they'll say, we'd like to look at, Ben, Harry etc

Sometimes the agency get to choose or advise Little Johnny. Sometimes they'll get asked to send 4 3yr olds for example.

Obviously the pics are nice but anyone with a good sharp pic can produce a lovely snapshot.

Yes it seems alot melody but only takes one job to get it back in most cases.

hope this helps

liahGeneMutatedMonster · 24/10/2008 18:53
