Morning all
September's thread was very long so thought best to start a new thread as Brooke77 suggested too!

Am off to London again tomorrow for DS1 has a tv show casting, anyone have anything coming up?

Any of you had contract's through from UAN yet?

You told me they were HFD

You heard anything from AK yet? Although alot of people regardless of which agency they are with normally wait btwn 6-8 weeks so don't go panicking

well, yeah...!!

Nope - but Kimberley's been getting me to improve my photos (the white ones to better white ones!) and I've sent her some ideas to improve the website which they are doing! Don't know if that makes me a pain in the arse and they are sorry they took me on or not!!

I was able to view other kids, now I can't!

No, no work yet but I do think the credit crunch will hit if it hasn't already. Although people say things will need to still be advertised the budgets will be cut - take on less at castings, one child instead of two, not on as much, plain advert in a paper instead of glossy pictures etc. Bound to, if a company is cutting jobs which they are then their advertising budget will be reduced because they have less to offer too. More important things to worry about than less work for babies of course..!! But still, it's a shame!!

Still too excited to wait and this must be a quiet time anyway. Just one job I would like and then to surprise everyone I know!

Serenbach · 16/10/2008 12:58

Oh poo! Melody I've missed it and you've closed your profile again now lol unless I'm doing something wrong.
Hi HFD, have you seen the news over on the other forum? A couple of babies have been accepted by Sarah at UAN (even though books are officially closed....I'm not surprised though cos if they hadn't been taken on they would've been snapped up by another Agency)

grumpalumpa · 16/10/2008 13:03

Apparently its really busy for babies up to a year old at the moment so thats probably why UAN have taken them on. Agents are getting more jobs than babies!!!

HellFireandDamnation · 16/10/2008 14:30

UAN have had their books closed for ages concentrating on opening their new place I 'spose. I wanted to apply a couple of months ago and they were closed then.

How come it's busy for babies? Any idea why and why haven't we been picked, we've been up on site for three days now!!!! !!!

Luce2006 · 16/10/2008 17:22

3 days is a very short period of time.It can take up to a year for a child to start getting castings( and I know that too well)
Some get called even before the parents have had time to sign the contract, other after few weeks and so on. It's all down to the clients and what they're looking for at that moment. You're children can be the most gorgeous kid in the world but if they don't match the criteria the clients are after, then they won't be asked for a casting

HellFireandDamnation · 16/10/2008 17:24

I was only joking!! But I am impatient!

goingfor3 · 16/10/2008 17:35

HellFireandDamnation in a few months you'll be asking when you're going to get a break from all of the castings/jobs your baby will get!

HellFireandDamnation · 16/10/2008 18:23

goingfor 3 - that would be nice - I'll give up then!!

anyone know why it is busy for babies or indeed if it is? Just and M& S poster that's all I ask?!! Won't get it they only use big blue eyed babies and my lo is brown eyed!

MelodyDaisy · 16/10/2008 21:27

Hi all. Didn't get till just gone 8pm, am really exhausted! DS2 did really well, on one shot he had a plate of peas to eat and love it! lol

OP posts:
HellFireandDamnation · 16/10/2008 22:43

why did he have to eat a plate of peas??

MelodyDaisy · 17/10/2008 10:21

He was advertising a new plate thingy with like a barrier around to stop peas falling off everywhere when a toddler is trying to eat them He loved it! lol

OP posts:
HellFireandDamnation · 17/10/2008 10:24

when do we see the advert??

grumpalumpa · 17/10/2008 11:00

Hellfire - My son has done M&S and he is isn't blue eyed...so don't give up hope just yet. Companies are starting to do spring/summer stuff and you tend to find that at shoots like mothercare, babies r us and debenhams for babies they will use 2 for each shot and then choose which one is best.

Totallyfloaty35 · 17/10/2008 11:09

I was wondering, anyone who joined Kitsch kids agency, have you had any work or castings yet?

MelodyDaisy · 17/10/2008 12:56

HFD- It was for a Spring/Summer catalogue which will be out at the end of January.

brooke77 · 17/10/2008 13:01

totally.. we joined ds end july.. he's had couple of castings, one we had to turn down, no jobs as yet

Luce2006 · 17/10/2008 22:50

I just can't believe it,I am gutted, really. This late afternoon we were driving to the airport and we got a phone call form UA checking if ds was available for a shoot on
Tuesday (Rupert forgot that we are on holiday until the 2nd) and just now I've read an email from a casting director informing me that the casting for the commercial I applied to through starnow he's on Monday!!!!! I can't believe it!!!!!!!!

MelodyDaisy · 17/10/2008 23:13

Luce2006-What a mare! I know you'd been waiting for one to come along too hadn't you? Well hopefully you will get even more when you come back

OP posts:
Luce2006 · 17/10/2008 23:20

Yes, I was waiting for this first phone call from UA and when it happens? when I am rushing to the airport!!!ARGHHHH!!!Let's hope the client will keep my ds in mind for next time.
melody: can't believe how busy your dcs have been!!You must be knackered with all this running around!!

MelodyDaisy · 17/10/2008 23:25

I am knackered, but also nice to see my DC have these opportunities to do something they enjoy
Especially my littlest DS as he has been through soo much healthwise, it's nice seeing him doing what he genuinely loves doing and hopefully will have even more opportunities

I am sure it won't be long till you get something else come up, it does show that they know he's there and thinking about him for jobs!!

OP posts:
scottishAnnie · 18/10/2008 10:19

Totally and Brooke - I joined Kitsch in August and haven't had any communication from them since I paid my fees....Beginning to wonder if I've been had . Has anyone had anywork throught them ?

brooke77 · 18/10/2008 12:22

Scottishannie.. it can takes weeks, months or never with any agency.. often takes a couple of months to get going with a new agent.. So dont despair !! they are a legit agent, we've had castings through them.. they are very approachable so you could always call them up and ask if there's been any interest for your dc.

ichef · 18/10/2008 13:06

Luce OMG feel so bad you must be furious I know I'd be, didn't we say this would happen? It is typical but as Melody said no doubt something else will come up soon.

DD had a straight job yesterday very last minute and we have a casting for ds2 on Monday in Holborn anyone else going?

Scottishannie we joined KL in March and only heard from them late July and ds1 joined UA in June and only got his first (and only) casting in September so don't worry too much.
I met a really nice KK's mum at a casting once and she seemed to be v happy with them.

MelodyDaisy · 18/10/2008 14:16

ichef- I hated it when I went to Holborn, I hope you have better luck!! lol

Not all children are guaranteed work, even with a legit agency, but KK are legit, have seen them at 2 castings now so hopefully you will get something come along
