...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

Oh I couldn't add to the one that expired, it wouldn't let me!

Berrie · 25/09/2008 12:58

Which do we use?

Berrie · 25/09/2008 12:59

I did look for a new one before I made one though...we must have been doing it at the same time.

LyraSilvertongue · 25/09/2008 13:06

Which one are we using?

oggsfrog · 25/09/2008 13:57

The other one .... or this one.... who knows??

We could start another 2 and have one each

Right then...am having a cup of coffee.

I have a bag full of party food for Rose's birthday. Do I start on the iced party ring biscuits, the chocoloate fingers, the funny faces or the chocolate logs?

Also I need help with a princess cake. I tried to find a little dolly to shove in the top. I wanted to find some pink ready rolled icing but Tesco don't have it. It's not going to look the same dribbled down the side is it? I can draw one on with an icing pen I suppose but not very exciting is it...

Berrie · 25/09/2008 14:53

Right...went for the happy faces...3 left...soon to be 2

Berrie · 25/09/2008 15:36

Chatters to self in loony fashion...

Berrie · 26/09/2008 07:04

Still wittering away to self.

The chocolate fingers have bitten the dust...

Get well soon, Oggslet.
I went to see my new house again yesterday - it's still fab. I'm soooooooooo excited!!!!!
And the good news is we now have a tenant for our house. They negotiated a bit off the rent but we're still pleased. Now the hard work begins...

oggsfrog · 26/09/2008 14:45

Oh, that must be a relief Lyra . So when do you move?

Berrie, how's the building work coming on?

Zeb.... come baaaaaaaaaaaack [penitent].

Dd is still snuffling and throwing up. I have absolutely no energy. I need to make soup.

OP posts:
Berrie · 26/09/2008 16:43

Oh poor babyOggs What are your new wheels Oggs and what did you say to Zeb? I can't remember anything. I don't think she is the type to take offense easily.

Lyra, how exciting! things are finally sorting themselves out for you.

The builders have finally come back and are currently wheeling in the floor. There are 6 of them, I am out of mugs!

oggsfrog · 26/09/2008 19:29

I made a jokey remark yesterday at 14:05 and she's not been back since .

Dd currently in the bath and feeling a little better.
She managed to eat some semolina and fruit earlier and has had a bit of pork and potato too - hopefully it won't be reappearing any time soon .
I'm going to dose her with calpol and tuck her into bed very soon.

The 'new' car is a Frontera Sport - 12 years old but it had a low mileage, and because it's a 4x4 we hopefully won't get snowed in as frequently as usual this winter .

Berrie · 26/09/2008 19:39

You silly moo. She won't be in a huff about that.

oggsfrog · 27/09/2008 12:03

Morning . The world seems a much brighter place this morning.

Dd still very snuffly, but high temp has gone and no sickness since yesterday. Hoorah!
Clever dh has fixed the couple of problems he identified on new car and we are chuffed to bits with it [easily pleased]. Hoorah!
The sun is shining.
I can take down all the horrid net curtains over windows and doors as midges season is over.

Today I'm going to make soup and cakes. Dd is going to play a Spongebob game on the pooter and dh has gone to show off swanky new motor to neighbours.

All is well in the world [satisfied].

Brilliant, Oggs.
I'm on a double shift today but I'm working from home because DP was late getting home from NY. I'm sat in bed with two laptops [lazy emoticon]. DP has taken the boys out in the sunshine so the house is nice and quiet.

oggsfrog · 27/09/2008 15:07

So how long is a double Lyra? From when 'til when?
Presumably dp has charge of the boys all day today so you can work?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 27/09/2008 16:45

Yay! I'm back. And don't be daft Oggs, it takes a lot more than that to offend me - I was the youngest of six, I'll have you know.

Sadly, yesterday, I had to take the day off, due to the unforseen event of going out with a bunch of people on Thursday night and not getting home until 2am I was just a little poorly.

My defence is that I had a VERY long converation with DH about what's happening, property, money and stuff, which was very tuff and very emotional, particularly for him. So I really did need a night out. But the good news is that we've come to an agreement of converting one of the barns down in the woods (fabulously, amazingly beautiful spot by the river and bridle path), which will then be mine (he's paying for the work). This means he won't have to sell the farm which is worth half it was this time last year, and the cows and everything, as he was getting worried about when I would demand my 'share'. If that happened it would frankly would finish him and probably put him in an even earlier grave.
So, now, it looks like I'll be 'in a cottage in a wood' , and DS just has to trot up the hill to see daddy and the animals when he wants. It's the best solution all round, although who knows what the future holds. All we need to do now is figure out how to bribe the local council to get planning permission.

On a final note for saying I'm never polite.

LyraSilvertongue · 27/09/2008 18:31

Zeb, that sounds amazing. It sounds like the best solution, definitely. Are you excited? How much work does it need? We can compare notes on new kitchens and bathrooms.
Oggs, a double is 15.5 hours, 7am till 10.30pm. I've just holed up in the bedroom all day while DP does everything else.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 27/09/2008 19:06

I am excited actually. I finally feel that I've got something to look forward to and get hold of. But it will be a long road - first we need to get planning permission and architect drawings and engineering reports and stuff. Then they have to do a lot of structural work and windows and floors and roof tiles and stuff, before I can even begin to think about kitchens and bathrooms and interiors. Not that that's stopping me looking.
