Please help Beetroot fulfil her dream to pose topless

So, Beetroot suggested a Mumsnet topless calender. Actually no Tamum did but it's Beetroot that has, for many, many years now (!) had a desire to bare her breasts.

As I love her dearly I've said I'll do January.

I see Beetroot as September as all the leaves on the trees are turning red.

So, who else is up for it.

We're raising money for a worthwhile cause btw.

I would like to pose in a very long blonde, wavy wig and riding a unicorn

What IS the worthy cause? I can't find that anywhere in the thread except someone saying some should go to MN...

How about a Baby/Parenting charity. Or, failing that, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as DS has cf. (They might balk a bit though at all our bare tits.. [grin[)

BTW.. it (producing charity calendars) CAN be done.. but I won't say it's not a lot of hassle. Four friends and I produced a charity calendar in aid of Tommy's The Baby Charity for 2003. The hassle involved, as you can imagine, was mainly getting all the sponsors. We had a great many.. all putting in a small amount. It was called Broken Dreams.. For All The Children For Whom Tomorrow Never Came. It featured a poem for each month of the year written or submitted by a parent who had lost a child to miscarriage/stillbirth/SIDS. So... obviously.. we weren't getting our tits out..

We did it though.. raised a respectable amount for Tommy's and gave 12 parents a lasting memorial to their lost children. It was my friend's project but I was heavily involved. We were in Woman magazine in Oct 2002 because of it.. got a makeover and everything!

If you ever thought you had it bad now with trolls, you wait till all the superbabes get their bits out artfully... the place will be crawling with saddos.

Group shots might be fun and allow those who couldn't face a full page to get involved. Also it might extend the 'absolutelymustbuythat' so more people will buy.

I think having a theme is important. Not sure recreating classic shots (without a twist) would work. With a twist (ie. Lou's dummies), maybe. Also, if it will be aimed principally at family /friends / MN community, it probably needs stronger tie-ins to either the concept of 'mum' or to the fact that it's a Web site (so the Justine et. al shot behind a PC, or shoppers browsing for pushchairs in Mothercare, or mum on school run etc.).

Will speak to Deeofhub re: Demi Moore shot.

deciding where to donate to could be problematic. I would like scope as ds has cp, or a cancer charity, but that would have to be thrashed out at some point with everyine sitting down at a big table looking serious with scraped back hair and black glasses on

lou33 · 26/02/2005 16:22

hub2dee, that's what dh said

SleepyJess · 26/02/2005 16:26

LOL Lou33.. (re long table/black glasses ) I know what you mean.. which is why (maybe) a general child-related charity might be a good idea.. seeing as we are all mums/parents on here. Not for a specific condition.. just with the emphasis on kids. Like Save The Children, Oxfam, or Tommys'

(Besides I have one with CF and one with CP so am heavily torn.. but CF generally 'wins' because it is life threatening.)

I reckon quite a few mumsnetters, including lurkers, would buy one, just to see what people looked like! But it wouldn't necessarily be enough to make much money. But Tamum's right, the logistics could be v difficult as could deciding where any money made should go.

jampots · 26/02/2005 16:42

well Mumsnet team could put a poll thing in a box in the talk section and we could vote on where the money goes.

I personally would prefer proceeds to go to a cancer charity, diabetes or cf

JoolsToo · 26/02/2005 16:51

cod! where did you get that picture?! I wish she'd put her cardi on!

snafu · 26/02/2005 16:55

Well, can't we split proceeds between a few places? e.g: Scope, a cancer charity, FSIDs, etc etc?

brinkley · 26/02/2005 16:55

is this the female equivalent of buying a red porsche mid-life crisis behaviour i wonder

snafu · 26/02/2005 16:56

some of us are nowhere near our mid-lives yet, thankyouverymuch

JoolsToo · 26/02/2005 16:56

my vote would go to NSPCC

wheresmyfroggy · 26/02/2005 16:57

NSPCC would be good

Or BLISS ?

brinkley · 26/02/2005 16:58

snafu · 26/02/2005 16:59

SleepyJess · 26/02/2005 17:05

Shall we call it "Sad Desperate Tarts Gagging To Get Their Tits Out For Any Reason Whatsoever"?! That rolls off the tongue beautifully..! And sod the chairites.. we'll have a Mass Meet Up/Piss Up with the proceeds!

Daily Sport readers would buy them!

brinkley · 26/02/2005 17:06

ROFL Sleepyj

lou33 · 26/02/2005 17:08

SleepyJess · 26/02/2005 17:10

Lou33.. sorry.. I was only kidding! I don't suppose many of us fit that description. Well some perhaps.. but not many
