Evening all. We've had the merest hint of drizzle today, but also cloudier and cooler. (This is because I bought some floaty hot weather clothes off ebay - we will now have a mini ice age!)

We've watched Devil Wears Prada 2 this evening, which was nicely entertaining, if predicable. DS has been at work and is home. I could do with an earlier night that I'm having, as ever. <eye roll at self>

FFS at missing receipts LetUs - it's always the way! Fingers crossed it turns up.

It was a bit sunny a few minutes ago. Quite dull now. But it’s Friday so hurrah for that.

Buy.a new paddling pool Helen, try to pay a bit over the odds for it too, that should bring some rain.

I can’t find any Christmas receipts from last year. Obviously the bulk get binned but I generally keep certain ones. This makes me think I’ve put them somewhere safe

Need to leave early to take my car in so I’d better have breakfast and get going.

If it was anything like here Apricot, it kept teasing rain but didn’t actually. I think we have a few dry warmer days coming. Perhaps that means the rain is heading elsewhere? <hopeful>

Car all sorted and all free as it was a safety recall. New dealership was very good so I’ll be happy to go there for car service etc, and saves me having to book time off work as it’s walkable to the office.

Going to have a drink, watch a bit of tv and then go to bed. Wild Friday 😁

Evening all. I slept in and then bounced straight into work and then fell into a wormhole trying to sort out photos for a village exhibition.

That's handy about the garage LetUs. I could walk to my local one at a push - it would be more of an expedition though (2-3 miles I think).

No rain here, and sun but cooler again.

I think it was only a shade under a mile each way Helen so totally fine, except for the way back which wasn’t exactly uphill but it was definitely on an incline.

Sunny here but nice sunny and not going to be stupid hot. Washing is out and ongoing, dishes are almost done. Prescription is ready for collection and I’m taking a library book back. That’s quite enough activity for me thank you 😁

Morning all. I was going to have a lie-in this morning. DH had instructions for feeding livestock.... Slinky was playing with a mouse - no idea if Idiot brought it in and let it go, or if it's been sculling about a while, but DH managed to trap it under a tub and call for help. Mouse is outside living its best life in the front shed. Cats and chickens are sorted. Watering and breakfast are done. All cats are chilling together in the sitting room which is awesome - they're not interacting or anything, but they're all relaxed and chilling out in different spots. They did the same on Thursday night when IdiotKitty sprawled into his box for the first time since the kittens arrived. We're planning to teach the kittens how to use the cat flap this weekend .

We have a family party this afternoon, which will be fun, and hopefully not too hot, but I helped put up party tents earlier in the week, so there will shade at least.

Back at work <sighs>, still no rain <more sighs> but it was a bit cooler this week - have had to dig out cardigans in the evenings. Back to scorching tomorrow though. Nighttime animal shenanigans here too - one night Chonk and Floof were out very late having a noisy spat in next door's garden and another night I had a dragonfly stuck behind my headboard. I think Floof ate it as there was no sign of it in the morning.

Am also in awe of your filing apricot! And also keeping fingers crossed for that receipt letus

Afternoon. Still no rain here either. I dreamed we were flooded last night, it's obviously getting to me. I got a washload done though, and it's all put away now.

We don't have Disney+ but I'm sure it will appear somewhere else eventually.

That's marginally better than my dream apricot - it had a house fire in it. Not my house, and luckily all the residents got out in good time, but rather unnerving! Strange to both have disaster dreams on the same night!

Is it Slinky that’s the Houdini? I imagine they will look at the others using the cat flap and say “amateurs”, possibly whilst nonchalantly filing their claws 😁 Good that they’re relaxing with each other. Hope the family party is lovely.

Must be the season for bonkers dreams. Mine have been crackers too.

Haven’t done much else today except knitting more clothes for a school doll. I was supposed to be finishing off the other things I’ve made by adding buttons etc. I have not done that.

i can highly recommend Benidorm is Murder starring John Hannah. It’s on Channel 5. Detective show with some comedy. Have watched the first one and it was excellent so I’m pacing myself with it.

Evening all. Party was much fun, but we had to leave a bit early to get DS to work. I got washing on the line just before we left, which had had a short spin, but still dried to a crisp.

Eek at the bonkers dreams. I haven't remembered any of mine for a while. Sympathies on unsettling subconsciousnesses.

Slinky is the Houdini. Both ave watched IdiotKitty using the Catflap, so hopefully they'll get the idea. Must head out to get DS.

Usual Sunday with added DS1 and fiancée. She’s baked some cookies - Biscoff, caramel, and Oreo flavours. I’ve had a Biscoff one and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve eaten. Having to stop myself from eating the rest.

It’s been quite warm today but it’s gone rather cool now. Also I need to bring in the rest of the washing as there’s some alleged rain due.

Evening all. I'm back from dropping off DSGF and then giving DS some driving practise. Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired.

It's been horribly hot all day and no rain forecast for the foreseeable. We let Slinky outside today. Chaos. She shot straight off into the hedge (nettles, brambles, rambling rose... all things spikey and painful. She eventually came out again, and in again, and out - you get the idea. The manshapes lured her in with a shoelace once she ventured back onto the patio. I think she exhausted herself with all the excitement. Spot wasn't very interested in getting out through the catflap and by the time we'd retrieved Slinky we weren't up for any more kitten shenanigans. They're both blotto; IdiotKitty has been in, had food and gone back out.

Morning all. It's cloudy and cooler here today.

Slinky is wailing at windows, wanting to be let out again - they've both had a solo trip outside through the patio door this morning, and then one together which was somewhat stressful, but I managed to entice them into grabbing range with wiggly shoelaces . She's just jumped up for a cuddle, covered in cobwebs, so presumably been checking all the dark corners behind furniture for escape routes that she's previously missed. Spot has tired herself out with all the excitement of cautiously padding round the patio pots and flower beds, and is asleep on the floor.

I need to work. <sigh> Though I don't think I have vast amounts on so I can probably go out later and do exciting things like carry on creosoting the sheds.

Afternoon. Another dry, very warm day. I did a Sainsbury shop this morning and then this afternoon DD came round to sort out some more pics for her photobook. We haven't nearly finished and I'm trying to get them into some sort of chronological order. She wants it for her birthday which is next week. No pressure then. We really should have started sooner but she didn't spring it on me until a couple of weeks ago.

Oh gosh, the kittens sound a nightmare.

More kitten chaos over lunchtime with a more confident Spot chasing around after Slinky, who had a go at traumatising the chickens. <sigh> It has been a bit cooler today, which was nice, but it's getting hotter again through the week. The combine has been rumbling up and down the field over the road, so the harvest is nearly done - it might actually be actually finished today.

The manshapes have been out all day helping at SportingActivitySummerCamp - DS is helping all week and DH on alternate days, which means I have the joys of taxi duty on the days DH doesn't go. (And DS gets more practise driving which isn't a bad thing since his test is coming up.)

Work or creosoting. Both sound equally unappealing. I must ask DS1 if he has another test date.

Crikey Apricot that sounds a bit of a time crunch! Although even if you finish it early, and MrApricot decides he’d like to tell you about latest DIY ides or golf, you can tell him that you really need to concentrate and need silence 😁

Work was a bit rubbish. I’ve finished another top for the doll and also made bonnet for an actual baby. Number of buttons sewn on to various projects - 0.

Rubbish sleep and weird dreams again. These things do not help the mood.

Morning all. Slinky already looks at disdain at shoelaces outside LetUs. Well mostly, if she deigns to look at them, and I'm regarded with extreme suspicion because I bring them in spoil all their fun. They are outside now and I'm mostly ignoring them, though I have been allowed to pick up and make a fuss of Spot, before putting her down and letting her play again.

I really must stop forgetting to hit 'post'...

Sun is out and it's hot outside, I have watered and also done taxi runs for DS.

Afternoon. Another hot day and the rain forecast has now moved from next Sunday to the following Wednesday with a 39% chance. <sigh>

We have just spent 2 and a half hours on the phone to Virgin Media because their latest bill has inreased by 30%. Half an hour waiting for a person and the other two hours actually talking to someone. She kept going away to ask someone what she was doing, read the terms and conditions of the contract three times and God knows what else. We lost the will to live, in fact DH told her that. I'm not quite sure what the outcome was but I think the bill has been reduced to less than it was before.

I'm now waiting for DD to come round to continue with the photos.

Hope the kittens are behaving themselves (fat chance) and LetUs is having a reasonable day.
