Lovely chat with BestFriend this morning. Usual washing etc and pottering plus crochet;knitting for the rest of the day.

Not to copy wenches or anything but headache here too. Only a little one which can be seen off by standard paracetamol. Bit of a sore throat though woe.

Your week off of mammogram, naps, and car stuff sounds very much like when I have a week off Wicked.

Evening all. Slinky is on my lap demanding attention, and we've just finished watching a film.

I did get my nap - I flomped on the spare bed and made a fuss of IdiotKitty while DS played on his xbox... and woke up an hour later, much to DS' amusement. There's also been some garden tidying, reading and sudoku.

Carpet cleaners are awesome, but yes Fancy - OMG the colour of the water that comes up! It's revolting.

Sympathies all round on the headaches. Maybe it's the weather - hot and sunny all day here. It was good getting the rain for the waterbutts but I'm still spending hours lugging watering cans about.

I want to go to bed, but Slinky....

Ironing done, flapjacks cooling, washing in the machine. Looks like today and tomorrow will be dry. I should get organised and get the beds stripped. This may or may not happen.

Morning Afternoon (again!) I did get to bed, though later than I should. Slinky is slinking elsewhere. This morning I managed to get on the stepper for the first time in months, then taxi'd DS, dropped off a birthday present, and now home. And I haven't hung out the washing. Neither has DH. <sigh>

Afternoon. Nice morning but it’s clouded over now. Still no rain. DS was supposed to be coming round this afternoon with the DGC but didn’t turn up. This is not unusual, he’ll probably phone later.

The water is shocking after carpet cleaning, but very satisfying at the same time.

DH said the headaches may be due to the weather or a change in the pressure; he had one yesterday and he’s not a headachy person.

Afternoon all. Bed was later than planned, as ever, because...? Oh, the bed needed making, and the litter tray needed emptying and 101 other reasons. <sigh>

I have been to the dentists and picked up a prescription, and dropping in a local discount shop where I picked up a little wheely suitcase, which will be handy for overnight trips where I'd normally lug a holdall about if my shoulder wasn't buggered.

It's 23 outside according to the forecast, though my thermometer says it's 25 in here. The forecast is 30 tomorrow. <sob>

And now, actual work.

Afternoon. Sunny earlier but cloudy now and very warm although there’s a nice breeze. I went into town this morning and got the cards I forgot last week together with everyone’s for the rest of the year. Yay!

We’ve been sitting outside and the little drummer boy over the road has been at it again. I think it’s karma. DS must have annoyed the neighbours when he was drumming with the windows open though we never had a complaint, but at least he was rhythmic. He had headphones and played to actual music whereas this is just random bashing with the occasional roll.

Evening. Sympathies on the drumming Apricot. DS plays along to music on his phone via an App, but his guitar is only inflicted on us, not neighbours. (And he's quite good now, if you like that sort of thing!)

Speaking of DS, he's off out with friends. No word on when we can expect a request to pick him up from the bus...

DS1 learned drums at high school but fortunately he used the kit there.

Got a safety recall notice for my car so that needs booking in to get whatever it is fixed. Urgh being a grown up is hard.

Afternoon. I think we had a bit of rain during the night as there were small puddles on the chairs outside, but the promised light showers this morning didn't materialise. It's been cloudy for most of the day.

I've got a bit carried away on updating a folder I keep of all the work we've done on the house over the last 40-odd years. There's a section on each room with receipts, swatches, paint details and photos. I haven't updated it for years but DH asked for info on the shower he put in 20 years ago as it needs a spare part, and it got me going.

Hope your car is alright LetUs and MiniHelen wasn't too late.

Morning all. Foggy first thing this morning, which made it nice and cool, but it's burnt off now.

Speaking of musical instruments, DS got home drunk last night and proceeded to play guitar - badly Thank goodness drums aren't his thing! He also missed the penultimate bus and ended up on a train instead since it got him back to the same place as the bus, but sooner (and so I didn't have to wait up even later to fetch him).

Fingers crossed the the weather being not-as-hot-as-forecast.

Ended up warmer than expected although we had quite a bit of rain on and off (sorry).

Car is booked in for Friday. I’ve gone for a dealership near work. It’s just under a mile walk each way so I’ll definitely be getting my steps in!

That’s so super organised Apricot! It’s the high tech version of my parents’ filing system 😁. Mine’s more “relaxed”.

Good that MiniHelen was ready for earlier pick up, not so good on the drunken guitarist 😁

Morning all. Warm and sunny outside. (vest top and shorts was fine for feeding the chickens this morning.)

Last night's early night was sabotaged by a load crash from the kitchen at midnight. The kittens has managed to climb up to the top shelf (worktop, microwave, fridge, shelf seems the likely route), where they'd managed to knock off a bottle of tequila and a bottle of gin which fell down onto the eggs and from there to the floor. Miraculously, the bottles didn't break (stand down everyone - the alcohol was fine!) but it made a mess of the eggs. Then I couldn't get back to sleep for ages <le sigh, le yawn> so I suspect I'll be a waste of space at work today. Ho hum.

That's an amazing record to have Apricot. I have random receipts and invoices in a 'house' file, but it's nothing that would give us a record of colours and how the house looked.

Crikey Helen you were so close to having tequila omelettes for breakfast! I think DS2 was part cat when he was little. In the time it took me to walk from the dining/living room, sort something out in the hallway and then walk into the kitchen he’d climbed onto a dining chair, onto the table, opened the serving hatch, got through that and was just starting to walk along the kitchen counter. Towards the knives. He was a late walker and hadn’t been walking long.

Bit more rain today but goodness the wind! Just about calming down now.

Today has been remarkably productive given how tired I felt. Though I had a hugely irritating problem with an excel formula which worked on one batch of cells, but not another. I even asked co-pilot what the issue was - co-pilot (which work are very keen that we use, to save ourselves time) gave me the spinning circle of doom, so I gave up and logged out. AI failing to live up the the second part of its name

Weather was also cooler here, and some people even had a bit or rain

I was a bit bored (covering reception) yesterday so I clicked on the summarise this email co-pilot thing just to see what happened. The summary was almost longer than the email. AI’s been helpful though when I’ve needed help knitting or crocheting something so it gets a big tick for that 😁

Dull again here. I don’t want to have to put the lights on when I get up just yet. Ah well, the day beckons so I’d best get on.

<arf> at AI 'summaries'. Ours offered to give me a compelling summary of one of my budget spreadsheets, and add action points. It was the most blindingly obvious set of management gobblegook, which could be summarized more plainly as "This monitors spending, make sure you fill it in." I suppose if you had no idea what you were looking at/taking over someone elses role, it might be helpful?!

Oh well, freelancing today and no AI nonsense will happen (I hope). Have a good day all.

Afternoon. Cloudy for most of the day, I haven't been outside so don't know how warm it is. Still no rain. I'm even dreaming about it now.

I've started a folder on the exterior work we've done here, although we haven't got much paperwork. Lots of before and after photos though so they'll have to do.
