Cloudy here and warm. I think the rain has all fallen out of the clouds by the time they get here. <sigh>

Kittens are chasing each other round and round and up and down the furniture; IdiotKitty is out traumatising the wildlife.

No plans today, though DS is off to GF's house to watch the F1 and (I think) meet her Mother, to make them even more 'official' I need to get those plants planted into the dust bowl of our garden...

Afternoon. Cloudy day but it has brightened up this afternoon and it's gone really warm. No rain. I was also woken up by DH last night at 12 something and didn't get back to sleep until after 2 o'clock. He's taken to having a conversation with himself in his sleep; he knew nothing about it this morning. I've no idea what it was about, but I could do without it. <sigh>

Evening all. I have planted and watered and mown and been bitten by bitey buzzy flying fuckers. Now I'm all showered and flaked out on the sofa with a low-level headache. <flomp> DH has been colonised by kittens

In my head I'm on the chaise being fed nice chilled grapes by HBFs, with an air blade wafting cool air about. It's not much to ask for?

Definitely warmed up by the afternoon and the rain stopped so hurrah for washing. Could have got the crochet blanket pinned out and drying but didn’t so I missed a trick there.

The noises they make in their sleep! DH occasionally snores but it’s more that his breathing sounds like Darth Vader with a bad case of asthma. Can’t complain too much I suppose as I occasionally snore and of the two of us I’m the sleep chatterbox.

Not making an effort to stay up/get up for the football but I generally wake up around 1am anyway so I might watch a bit of it if I do.

I didn’t stay up or get up. Doesn’t mean I wasn’t awake for over half of it because DH and DS2 watched it. No “discussions” this time but voices obviously louder in the middle of the night. I have no clear feel of what today is. I know it’s Monday but it doesn’t feel like it should be. Can’t really explain it.

No matter. Hurrah for us.

Morning all. Sunny outside and we had a few splots of rain earlier (literally, splot, splot... splot splot. Enough to decorate the patio but not do anything useful with the ground). Slinky escaped outside twice because she's too fast. Fortunately IdiotKitty was outside both times to distract her for long enough so I could grab her and haul her back indoors. Very tedious because now she's desperate to get out there again.

No-one bothered with the football here - DH because it's too stressful and DS isn't particularly bothered. (And I've been actively avoiding it!)

Afternoon. Lovely day. The app says it's 27 degrees, but it doesn't feel like it because it's quite windy. Much washing done and put away.

Oh, the stress. The Virgin Media chap came in the middle of catching-up with the football. (We're still having trouble with the new box.) DH greeted him at the door with "Don't tell me the result!". Then after he'd gone the recording ran out and we had to find it on the iPlayer without being spoiled. Still, good result. I'm not that bothered about football in general, but I will watch the national team and our local one for my sins.

Naught Slinky. DH left the doors open a few days ago and found Misty on the terrace. Since then she's on the lookout for the back door being opened.

DH has a day off tomorrow and we're going to NearbyCity - I hope it has air con or we won't be staying long!

Evening all. City Visit went well and was fun - not too hot (air con) and everyone had fun. Plus shopping (DS's GF is also a fan of hunting for clothes in charity shops and came away with a very nice dress.).

The washing dried on the line and some roses I deadheaded first thing had dried to crispiness by this evening.

Oooh to Highlander - classic film! <ignores shite and pointless sequels>

Must go to bed, I've been on the go all day and have BoringOfficeJob tomorrow, with a side-order on taxi-ing DS.

Good that the city visit went well. Well done on the charity shop shopping. I only ever have success with books and the occasional jigsaw, and a full CD box set of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy back in the day.

Going to be a warm one today. That’ll help with the worst night’s sleep for a while which is saying something given the rubbish last few nights. Bonus mammogram after work but then book club this evening so that’s something to focus on.

Morning. Hot, sunny, running late. It's taking me an extra half hour at the moment to sort out the chickens (ongoing mite treatment - blowtorch) and watering. And to add to the chaos, IdiotKitty has learned to batter the door open from upstairs. So he asks to go up, I I open and shut the door to keep the kittens downstairs, then he changes his mind, shoves the door open and the kittens bolt for the forbidden excitement of upstairs. <le ENORMOUS irritated sigh>

Afternoon. It’s sooooooo hot. Not a cloud all day. I had to go to the dentist this morning for the hygienist and did a food shop after and paid a bill. Absolutely exhausted when I got back. DH had the stitches out of his hand at the GP and then went to walk round the course with his friends. We’ve been sitting in the shade this afternoon. Misty is in the shoe cupboard again. She comes out for a drink of water and then goes back. Mad cat!

Hope everyone has managed to keep reasonably cool and Helen’s kitties have behaved themselves and LetUs‘s mammogram went well.

Mammogram wasn’t too bad really and they’re so efficient that I wasn’t in the car park long enough to have to pay for parking. Book club was excellent.

Couldn’t believe how hot it had got by the time I left work. Most unpleasant.

Hurrah for MrApricot having the stitches out but boooo to hygienist visit.

I suspect IdiotKitty and the kittens have had discussions and payment has been made to IdiotKitty to enable them to get upstairs.

Morning all. I did crawl off to bed last night and have spent the last hour+ doing livestock and watering <sigh> And catching bloody Slinky who escaped outside again.

Work and gentle exercise today. Plenty of water will be drunk and we're basically out of kitten food, so I have to go to the shops. Oh, and work. That needs to be done as well. Ho hum.

Afternoon. Still hot, no breeze here either. I shoved the summer duvet in the machine this morning just to freshen it up and it was dry by lunchtime. I’m trying to think of other large items to do tomorrow that take for ever to dry in the winter.

Hope everyone’s managing to sleep. I was in DD’s old room at 2 o’clock with a fan on me trying to cool down. Our room has three outside walls and they’re in the sun all day. I shut the curtains but it’s still boiling in there.

It seems Slinky is a little Houdini. Listened to a podcast about him (Houdini not Slinky) the other day and it was very interesting. Part of the A Short History Of… podcasts.
