What would your worst job be?

I don't mean practically impossible things like flying an aroplane, but things that ordinary people do with enjoyment.
Mine would be taking in ironing, and dog walking.
What would yours be?

Anything outdoors or with animals. I don’t think o would be much good with a physical job either

I worked in a freezing cold meat factory one summer so I’m going to pick that. It was so cold I couldn’t feel my fingers, and even now 30 years later I can’t eat meat such as ribs that come in BBQ or sweet and sour sauce because of the smell.

Cleaning blocked drains
Extreme cleaner
Anything outside in cold and rain

Sales. I’d be dreadful at it.

I’d quite like to learn how to fly a plane!

Secondary school teacher

A pathologist or mortuary worker

One of the people who gets called to clean up after someone has been discovered lying dead for several weeks

I often think that a swimming pool lifeguard would be the worst. It must be so boring. And you can’t do anything else, can’t talk to anyone and it so loud!

A phlebotomist as I’m so squeamish about needles and blood.

i would also hate to do cold calling or having to knock on peoples doors trying to sell products

Taxi driver: Driving + listening to random members of the public talking shit for hours on end and pretending to be interested

Working in a fish shop. Cold and smelly!

Delivery driver. I hate parking. Doing it seventy billion times a day under time pressure would be the end of me.

Cleaning.

I hate cleaning anyway and people are disgusting.

Bus driver. Care worker.

Any job that involved driving around a big city..Even worse, having to parallel park .

This is me - I'd be marched out for standing up to them and giving back what I got

Being a pharmacist. Getting a degree then ending up basically putting boxes of tablets into bags all day long in a tiny pharmacy on some middle-of-nowhere parade of shops. I would be so bored.

Abattoir worker - an obvious choice as a vegetarian

And as PP said working in a quiet shop.
That feeling of being trapped inside all day with nothing to do but having to be ready to be at your salesy best is excruciating. All the chick lit authors who write a story arc around the heroine moving to a village and opening a darling little craft shop have obviously never experienced the tedium.

Any job based on an industrial estate.

A green grocery: cold, wet and muddy in the winter, wasps in the summer.

Any sort of customer service role. I'm a conflict avoider so I'd crumble under the pressure of dealing with unreasonable and rude people day in and day out.

Working on a submarine. I’ve been on one and felt claustrophobic.

Carer or nurse in any shape or form. Working in a nursing home. Anything to do with looking after children also.

Mainly carer though. There is no money on earth could pay me to do that. That is such a hard job mentally and physically.

Yes, ironing and dog walking are both quite low on my List of Things I am Prepared to Do. But they are both above having to deal with maggots.

Anything medical.

I'm a secondary school teacher - not surprised to see that listed by some posters as the job they would least like to do though!

Any job where I had to be around big-headed, boasty, braggy, show-offy type people.

Cleaner! My cleaner works magic on my house. I don't know how she manages to organise so much in two hours.
