Ciao , Hello , Welcome .

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 21:59

anneme did not mean to sound grumpy, just lost in my thoughts and with very little time. sorry.

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 21:59

is 10 weeks considered a new born?

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 22:00

Well, they are still quite fresh at that age, so ino yes

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 22:01

I meant imo.

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 22:01

I was thinking that when I saw in another thread that someone was being complimented for preparing a nice meal to dp with a 16 week old.
I must be stupid to have carried on doing everything and everything from 2nd day. why can't I bloody milk it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 22:03

Oh blimey you should! DP didn't get any food (nor, for that matter, did I) for at least the first 4 months, unless you cooked it or went to the pizzeria

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 22:03

I was in bloody ikea with both dds when dd2 was just ONE week!!! madness!!! I should hav estayed in bed reading grazia and io donna!!!! and then I was surprised to have a killing back pain.

sorry auto-rant finished !

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 22:05

oh yes she is very fresh. and sweet, with big eyes. I love her to bits, especially because she lets me sleep .

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 22:05

Unless he cooked it. What is wrong with me.

Pippi, I sympathise, I went to a mercatino to buy carseats for DP's friend when DD was 5 days old in a sling and it was my firts day out of hospital after CS. She was still sleepy then so I thought it was easy. Hah, I soon got put in my place....

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 22:05

Does she look like DD1? Or are they both completely different?

francagoestohollywood · 13/06/2008 22:07

I'd say she has another 2 weeks of newborn stage

Yes pippi, I think you were mad . I have to say that I was more energetic when I had my second. With ds I couldn't even sit for days (weeks even). BUT I'd never ever go to Ikea accompanied by a minorenne

anneme · 13/06/2008 22:11

No probs here - for one reason and another we stay near Parma quite a lot (well, between Parma and La Spezia) and I was just going to pick people's brains about things to do with DS1 aged 4 and DS2 aged 1. Pippi - not grumpy at all - you have a 10 week old - if you feel like I did then your brain just feels foggy with tiredness. Funny thing - when trying to get my Italian up to scratch the first book I read was Pippi calzelunghe.
Hope you all don't mind me crashing this thread

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 22:13

she did not look like anyone of us till very recently, certainly not dd1. today dh said he can see a bit of her, but I think not much except for big eyes. even when she's in dd1 clothes, she just is herself not a smaller dd1 like I thought it was going to be.

she is so sweet though, she has never ever complained, never had colics, never evr cried unless she wants a feed or dirty nappy. you are right it is easy when they sleep, much easier than going to the shop with a toddler obviously. so easy that I am already thinking of no 3! if it wasn't for pgcy, which I quite dislike all in all, I'd go for it asap. in fact I'd wait another year at least as I want to drink and be merry and buy clothes for a bit more.

this is disgusting and tmi: (hi hi hi I have sent dh to blow off in the garden )

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 22:17

you are very welcome anneme ! the more the merrier [cheers emoticon]. (pippi is going to have a glass of wine - pippi has asked dh to pur her some - pippi is sipping some!)

why parma?

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 22:18

If only we had a garden, mine gets sent to the balcony but rarely goes. Luckily I have this rank perfume MIL got me to use up so I have put it to good use as an air freshener.

Anneme - no not at all. Just let us know if you need any weather reports before you go.

PippiCalzelunghe · 13/06/2008 22:20

oh no mine goes as I can get very nasty - when pg I used to gag. oh sorry got carried away, this is disgusting.

francagoestohollywood · 13/06/2008 22:24

Anneme, sadly I don't know the area well enough. this is a website with the feste di paese around parma, usually during the summer there is a "sagra" (village fete) at least once a week, with music, food etc, which can be nice with the children.
have a look at this as well the castle looks fantastic, actually I'll bookmark it for us as well, as ds loves castles!
Will you be close enough to go to the seaside?

francagoestohollywood · 13/06/2008 22:30

I'm off to bed now, ciao!

Brangelina · 13/06/2008 22:32

Me too. 'notte!

gio71 · 14/06/2008 07:05

I thought Romanzo Criminale was great, possibly due to Kim Rossi Stuart who is top of my list of men I would have to leave DP for .
Pippi you sound so loved up with your family-it's so nice to hear and is making me broody...
DP off to a gig this weekend so just me and ds, am contemplating Ikea am I mad with a toddler on a Saturday? God I'm exciting-DP goes to a gig with the boys, I get enthusiastic about an Ikea trip

francagoestohollywood · 14/06/2008 12:54

lol gio. I get excited about IKEA trips. Add a short trip to zara home and I'm at my happiest .

mandybagpuss · 14/06/2008 14:16

Hello, could anyone tell me how long the inserimento process is at the scoula materna (state school) my twins start this September and I am looking to start work the week after, is a week feasible? Thank you!

Sputnik · 14/06/2008 15:34

Hi Mandybagpuss. You should be ok after a week, however, and I don't know if other schools do this or only in my area, the school was only open for the morning session during september. The meals and afternoon session didn't get going til the end of the month.
Whereabouts are you?

Rosa · 14/06/2008 16:15

Ikea with a toddler Gio you are brave.
Mandy inserimento can be up to 15 days in Veneto it depends on how well your children take to the place !!!
ANother very dry ( not) day here thrw it down this morning and as yesterday the wind is up now big time.
Now next time you are all chatting of an evening can you please send me vibes- there I was alone last night and I had to watch Gordon Ramsay on Raisat Gambero .

No Rosa, she is mad

About the poos, I know just how you feel, we had the thing where DD was clinging on to me moaning when she wanted a poo, she probably could've won several Oscars for her performance. She absolutely would not poo on the potty or toilet, but only first thing in the morning in her night nappy. One time she didn't poo for a week when we were on holiday.

In the end we "progressed" to her asking to poo in a nappy. This went on forever, despite bribery etc. Then we started to get her to poo in a nappy but sitting on the toilet. One day the nappy came unpopped (we use washables) so was half off and the poo went straight in. We continued like that for a bit and now, this sounds really silly, but she has the nappy popped round her leg She still asks for it though!
