Evening all. Daaaaaaaaaaark. etc. 16th is only a week away, then we will all be sitting outside for a post-work Pimms in the evenings! Not.

Good timing on the street get-together Fancy - it's always a bit Confused walking in on your own. I'm going to a village one later this week, but a friend is coming here first so we have strength in numbers Grin

LetUsPrey · 09/12/2025 06:51

Morning wenches.

Don’t know what’s come over me this year with the organization levels for Christmas but I like it 😁

Excellent timing re the party arrival Fancy!

I think of Wicked when I’m all urgh at how dark it is in the mornings and evenings here, and tut at myself.

Rain and wind but I think we’re on the edge of the storm. Hope anywench more affected will be okay.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/12/2025 08:55

Morning all. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain. etc. Also not close to the storm, but the roads are awash and I think it's been raining most of the night. So I have put a wash on Hmm
Local roadworks saw me taking an actual diversion this morning since I could see at least 4 cars at a standstill ahead my usual route, and didn't want to join that bit of mayhem.
Nothing else of intertest to report. No unexpected HBFs dropping by (or needing to be rescued from the roadworks). Doubt there will be any at morning exercise class either. But I'll go and check, just in case. Grin

ApricotCrush · 09/12/2025 16:46

Afternoon. Horrible day, dark, raining, windy. Neither of us have been outside.

I don't know where the days go to. I seem to have got carried away with the photos, I'm now looking at our parents' family photos and scanning some of them. Hmm

Star for LetUs for her organisational skills. I've done three cards for the golf friends for DH to take tomorrow, although looking at the weather, I don't think he'll be going.

Were there any HBFs at the exercise class Helen? No, I thought not. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/12/2025 21:18

Evening all. You're quite correct Apricot - there were none. Also, it was hard work in the class, so the distraction would have been welcome. I'm having visions of you wandering about the house, scanning anything you can lay your hands on now Grin

Was mooching along today doing work, writing reports, etc, feeling happy because no need to pick up DS (driving lesson picking him up from his bus) when he phoned to say that there was an accident on his route back, the road was shut and his bus was cancelled. Arghhh. Typical timing. So then there was a mad panic to get him on a different bus route, pick him up, and get him to the driving lesson (and be back home in time for a meeting). I got the the bus stop before he arrived so ended up hanging about for a bit, and then, to add insult to injury, the road was open again by the time I picked him up. <eye roll>

Hope everyone's had a good day. I still haven't done any cards. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 10/12/2025 07:06

Morning wenches.

Gosh that wind yesterday. Nearly took my legs from under me when I was walking to the car park. There was a lull in the evening when Father Christmas came round on his float. Coincidence? 😁

Oh that is annoying with the road reopening in the midst of everything Helen.

Here’s to improved weather so MrApricot gets to go golfing because it’s important that he does that 😉

Short day so that’s nice. DH is out tonight so I shall wrap his presents.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/12/2025 07:33

Morning all. Mostly clear and dry outside, and not even that cold. I shall squelch my way out to feed chickens shortly. Also running a bit late due to pill shenanigans with Wobbly cat - it kept sticking to my finger rather than staying in her mouth and then I lost it completely (she was on a fleecy sherpa blanket), so had to go and get another one, got that one in, and then found the first one (I hope) stuck to the side of her face! Blush

The BoringOffice calls, - I hope everyone has a good day.

ApricotCrush · 10/12/2025 16:30

Afternoon. Quite a nice day, a bit windy but no rain. Golf was played.

I've been quite busy. Wrapped a parcel and took it to the post office and did a Lidl shop while I was out. Came back and did the cards! Then this afternoon we've been doing the last of the apples so a cake is in the oven. Rather shattered now.

That's a nuisance about the bus Helen and WobblyCat's pill. Misty is at the vet tomorrow morning for annual check up and jabs. Not looking forward to it although she is very good.

Have a good evening all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/12/2025 18:33

Evening all. Work was workish and outside was a bit chilly, but not too bad.

Um... you've had a busy day Apricot! Hurrah for golf getting played and you being left to get on with stuff in peace and quiet. You should relax now and let a HBF look after you.

Tonight's shenanigans with DS involve him being out with friends and DH and I also being out in different places, so it's a bit up-in-the-air about who is bring DS home. He will call when he's ready and then one of us will scoop him up in a chaotic spontaneous sort of way. Hmm Grin

LetUsPrey · 10/12/2025 21:20

Evening wenches.

That is indeed a very productive day Apricot! And hurrah for golf! <helps self to slice of apple cake>

Good luck with the rest of WobblyCat’s tablets. I was going to say it’s not like they understand “it’s for your own good” as encouragement, because even when it’s a person who does understand, it doesn’t always go well. Talking about you DS1 from years ago, trying to administer penicillin.

Spent more time correcting documents for someone massively more qualified than me (and paid a shitload more). Still not convinced it’s fully correct, but I decided fuckitall, I’m not the one in charge.

Wrapped DH’s presents, and a few last bits for DC and DS1’s girlfriend. That is more or less it.

LetUsPrey · 11/12/2025 06:53

Morning wenches.

Stupid dark. Not a surprise but still annoying.

Rubbish sleep and weird dreams so I’m absolutely raring to go today!

Need to get my knitting back on track this evening as I feel like I’m getting behind with it as a couple of things are technically for Christmas (decorations).

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/12/2025 08:21

Morning all. It's been a rather lovely pink to peach to gold sunrise this morning, and I've had an extra 45 minutes in bed, so that helped too.

FFS at correcting peoples errors LetUs - my proof reading is fortunately more for readability and grammar - usually stuff written by technical people that has to make sense to normal human beings. Yesterday was cutting/re-writing to bring stuff down to length, as well as the usual spreadsheet wrangling and dfixing mistake I'd made <tired eye roll at self>

Today involves not so much work. Out for Christmas tea and cakes with friends in the afternoon, and more exercise thingy later this morning, so that will be nice. I've successfully got the pill into WobblyCat this morning, on the second attempt since my first one stuck it to the side of her mouth again - poor cat. IdiotKitty is being ShittyKitty so I turfed him out before he drew blood. He's back in now and sulking / guarding the house on a windowsill.

Have good day all. <side-eyes at LetUsWork and complex hand gestures to indicate that we're watching them and they'd better behave themselves>
<swaps bits of apple cake with Apricot for comparison>

ApricotCrush · 11/12/2025 21:21

Evening. I’m sure I posted earlier but I couldn’t have pressed post. Confused Ah well. All I said was that Misty’s appointment went well but she has a slightly red gum so might need an extraction at some time. Goodness knows how much that will cost. Ho hum.

Hope that Helen enjoyed her tea and cakes and LetUs’s work wasn’t too annoying.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 11/12/2025 22:09

Evening wenches.

That all sounds quite high levels of concentration Helen. Hope the Christmas tea and cakes was as lovely as it sounds, ie very. Hope WobblyCat is showing signs of less wobble.

Oh crikey Apricot. Hope that cat dental treatment isn’t as expensive as human dental treatment.

Work was varying levels of annoying, particularly people who don’t seem to make a connection between being very busy, not having enough time to get all their busy work done, whilst also wasting time chatting for - in total - over an hour. Baffling really.

LetUsPrey · 12/12/2025 07:10

Morning wenches.

We seem to have more rain. Keep telling myself it’s better than snow.

Friday hurrah!

DH has made comments about putting up the tree and decorations this weekend. Hmmm. Suppose the weekend after is a bit late.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/12/2025 07:36

Morning all.

Woe - my laptop has died. 'HP has detected a fan error'. Which makes the Black Friday laptop fiasco even more annoying. So this email is brought to you from the desktop, which has all my log-in details loaded (phew)

Tea/cakes was fun - with unexpected carol singing and pass the parcel! Was lovely to catchup with my friend. Was less lovely when IdiotKitty threw up from the top of the cat tree - cue very undigested bits of mouse and cat food splatting all over the place. And my night was later than planned because I forgot I'd treated the shower sealant with anti mould stuff, so that all hap to be wiped down and disposed of before I could get to bed.

This morning is daaark and cloudy. Though there is a bird outside singing its little heart out, so that's nice.

Fingers crossed that Misty's gum sorts itself out - which reminds me, I must drug WobblyCat before work.

Have a good day all <lobs tinsel at LetUs to help with decorating>

ApricotCrush · 12/12/2025 16:53

Afternoon. Much rain this morning but the sun came out this afternoon. I washed the bedding and have just remembered I haven't put it back on the bed. <sigh>

Oh gosh Helen, that's a bit of a disaster with the laptop, hope you can get it sorted. Eek at IdiotKitty throwing up from a height.

Hope the tree decorating goes well LetUs.

Have a good evening all.

Afternoon, have been to our work Christmas lunch today - very nice, I am sober though as I was driving. There were some half drunk wine bottles at the end, so I may have brought a bottle home.....Not sure how much I'll drink as my throat feels a bit iffy - I was definitely under the weather earlier in the week, stomach was unsettled & had a headache so something is brewing. Fingers crossed it doesn't spoil my weekend. Not that I had anything exciting planned Grin but I do need to get wrapping paper. Luckily I have done most present shopping, cards are all sent & most decorations are up.

Blimey helen dead laptop & cat vom, not a welcome combo! Floof threw up on the sofa a couple of nights ago - thankfully mostly on a towel & a cushion, so could have been worse. He has worked out how to open the breadbin though. FFS

Poor Misty, & your poor wallet if she needs dental work apricot, never cheap!

<gags letus's colleagues> does that help?

Right, time for a snack, a glass of wine & to get cosy under a blanket to watch some undemanding tv

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/12/2025 21:11

Evening all. Fist-bump to Fancy for being my 'sober work Christmas Lunch' twin. Hope nothing comes of feeling a bit ick Sad
Shock at Floof learning to open the bread bin. <lobs padlock at Fancy>

I've tried to sort out using DH's laptop this evening, but it won't read the USB where I had my passwords saved (FFS etc.) so I've mooched up to the desktop instead...

LetUsPrey · 13/12/2025 07:36

Morning wenches.

Thought I was going to read that IdiotKitty had vommed from the top of the Christmas tree for that extra festive touch.

Hurrah for nice lunches and to Fancy for ensuring minimal wastage on the wine. Very responsible.

<provides variety of hopefully preventative vitamins etc>

We also had quite a lot of rain yesterday. Perhaps I could use the tinsel from Helen to gag colleagues as per Fancy’s suggestion.

I am imagining Wicked on a sofa in a post-London shortbread-induced haze.

Today is tidying and washing, haircut and then out with siblings for Christmas meal.

Have lovely days wenches.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/12/2025 13:15

Sorry for being AWOL. It's dark and rainy here, think I spotted the sun for about 2 seconds yesterday, I was almost traumatized.

It's dark when I start working at 7.45-8 o'clock and then again at around 3 in the afternoon maybe, where i live. It's far worse higher up north. How is it in the UK?

My stomach been iffy this past week, gassy, diarrhea, lack of appetite and nausea. Don't know if it's a bug or indigestion.

My company also had to get rid of staff, we found out this week, I still have a job thankfully.

Hope you have lovely meal out Letus.

Yikes at Idiotkitty Helen Confused.

Glad Mistys checkup went well apart from the gum part.

Hope you're feeling better Fancy.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/12/2025 16:27

Evening all. DH's laptop is still not up to speed, but it's amazing how much you can get done when you can't just mooch on a laptop browsing through social media. I did use MN without being logged in, and OMG the adverts and spam-ness of it! I def. recommend using DuckDuckGo as a browser to cut that cr@p out, without needing to pay extra money.

Today has been a long session of stewing up apples, doing washing (didn't dry - sun but no wind), and tidying up the garden while the manshapes were out being sporty. We're out this evening at a gig. I've also just remembered that I left my hot chocolate brewing Shock it will be cold by the time I get to it at this rate!

Sorry to hear you're feeling rough Wicked Sad Hope that stops soon!

Have a lovely meal LetUs!

ApricotCrush · 13/12/2025 17:22

Afternoon. Quite a nice day although it was foggy first thing. It starts to get light at about 7.30 in the moring here WW, and it's dark by 4.30, but we're almost on the turn. Hope you feel better soon.

Also hope Fancy hasn't got anything developing.

The side adverts seem to have disappeared for the moment Helen, I'll definitely look into DuckDuckGo if they reappear.

Have a lovely evening all, whether gigging, out for a sibling meal or whatever. We'll be watching football, and hoping for some sort of miracle. Sad

FancyFancy · 13/12/2025 21:47

Evening, not feeling too bad thanks. Not 100%, but ok - got some final presents today and delivered a few and I remembered the wrapping paper - yay!

It may be a bug ww - lots of people here are reporting gastric issues with added cold/flu symptoms. Fingers crossed you feel better soon.

Similar day length to apricot here, on a gloomy day it's looking half dark by 3pm!

Wench team work - me and Helen sorting out your colleagues letus Grin

Right, need to fold some washing, which means I need to move Chonk. He always comes to sit on me 10 minutes before I have to get up.

LetUsPrey · 14/12/2025 08:22

Morning wenches.

That sounds horrid Wicked. Hope you’re feeling better today. Phew for you still having a job.

Hope the gig was good Helen, and the hot chocolate was still at least warm.

I don’t think it went very well for you with the football Apricot. I can relate.

Clever Chonk with the sixth sense. Could you get them to point to some lottery numbers?

Meal was delicious and lovely for all us siblings to get together.

Up early so flapjacks are made, ironing done, washing done, penguins complete!

Have super days wenches.
