Lots of adverts advertising Richard and how he will kill again, any idea's. I know Maxine is coming out of it soon, but surely he couldn't have a reason to kill her (apart from the obvious)

Ive got to say, Ashley being arrested was so unbelievable - they wouldnt do it right there and then would they, don't they usually wait for the press conference to see their reactions, and as for Emma - 'husband soaked in blood, not making sense, does seem suspicious', mmm would like to think my dh would not make sense and be distraught too. Also, do they only have one police woman and one nurse in Weatherfield or what, ie. Emma or Martin. I mean I know the public services are stretched, but really! Ok, Thumper, calm down, it's only a SOAP!

Nutjob · 15/01/2003 10:37

Must say, I thought it was a bit extreme arresting Ashley, and bringing him out in handcuffs too!!! Ok hang on, reality check - it's not real Nutjob!!

Bozza · 15/01/2003 13:33

IKWYM thumper about Emma always being on the scene when the police are needed and Martin always being there at the hospital.

breeze · 15/01/2003 14:09

Just think of all the overtime they get paid.

OP posts:
PamT · 15/01/2003 14:24

I really don't know how that hospital runs when Martin has a day off - he seems to work on every ward and is everywhere at once - what do they do without him?

breeze · 15/01/2003 21:16

Well Doreen to her acting to another level...dire, The treatment of Ashley i feel was very harsh, but i suppose the cops were only doing there job, as most of the time in these cases it is someone they know. I think Richard is brilliant offering biscuits.

OP posts:
breeze · 16/01/2003 08:41

Just read my posting, i don't think richard was brilliant for offering biscuits, i meant that he stayed calm and was cracking jokes etc etc.

emsiewill · 18/01/2003 23:29

I think I'm taking all this too seriously.... I had a dream last night that my cousin was married to Richard, and I found out about his evil-doings (in my dream, he'd killed people we knew). I was trying to gather evidence to "get" him, and convince her. It was really scary - felt like I was next on his hit list. When I told dh about this this morning, he said "now you know how Audrey feels".
I really didn't sleep well because of this dream. How sad am I?

Fionn · 18/01/2003 23:38

Emieswill - I thought I was bad! A few weeks ago I was telling my 4-year-old not to do something along the lines of "If you don't clear up these toys now I'll get cross and you won't get any pudding" and he came back furiously with "Well mummy, I'm so angry that you're not allowed to watch Coronation Street!" Despite what dp and ds think it isn't rerally my favourite past-time!

Is Richard going to try and finish Emily off in hospital? Why hasn't Audrey gone to the police yet to tell them to investigate Richard?

breeze · 19/01/2003 08:56

I think the main one to supspect richard would be norris, but richard made a point of talking to him around the time, i too had a corrie dream recently, but i couldn't balance my cheque-book and my dh had asked ken to show me. !!!!

OP posts:
PamT · 19/01/2003 09:06

I don't think anyone suspects Richard except for Audrey and she can't go back to the police because she has already been before and they didn't take her seriously. From what the spoiler says, it is quite some time before things turn on Richard and it is partly his own doing. Those 'looks' of Richard's just crack me up! Audrey actually did one too when she was in the cafe and Richard came in asking Toyah about Emily.

Tinker · 19/01/2003 10:44

I don't understand the switch in Gails' thinking though. A few months back, she was all for believing Richard's ex-wife's best friend about R murdering ex wife. Had clues with the bracelet. Ex-wife's mate mysteriously goes missing but then Gail suddenly forgets about all these clues when other things happen. You should be very suspicious of any man with that type of dyed moulded haircut!

breeze · 19/01/2003 10:50

His ex-wifes mate didn't go missing though, she came back and admitted that she had a crush on richard and thats why patrica didn't go, she probably realised she doubted her hubby and she shouldn't have (but we know she should have), and anyway when i ask my hubby why she does something, he gives me that look and replied 'because the script told her too' he ruins all my fun!!!

Did you see Brian Capron (Richard Hillman) on Graham Norton tonight? He was really nice and just laughed all the time. He got a mighty reception from the audience!

Fionn · 22/01/2003 21:00

Hopefully Sunita will stop being so miserable now - he'd cheer me up anyway!

breeze · 07/02/2003 14:23

I have just read that tracey goes to work in Lucy's Florist, and as suspected, Lucy is pregnant with Peters child. Poor Shelley.

Back to the Richard story line, apparently 4 endings are being filmed, including one where he drives his car into the river but when the car is recovered his body has disappeared (another Kim Tate?) See www.corrie.net for more info (link on my post on January 14th). But as they are filming them over the next couple of months we're going to have a long wait before we see the back of him.

breeze · 07/02/2003 15:45

PamT, didn't they also do that in eastenders, with the mitchell brothers.

OP posts:
PamT · 07/02/2003 18:07

Don't know, I'm not an EE fan.

breeze · 07/02/2003 18:18

What..................

OP posts:
PamT · 07/02/2003 18:35

I'm a northern lass Breeze, I don't understand all that foreign language that they speak on those southern soaps Emmerdale used to be filmed about 10 miles away from me and I even have a photo of me stood in front of the Woolpack with DS1 in his pram aged about 5 weeks I think. (Should I really admit to that?)

I've been to Granada Studio Tours where they actually film Corrie too and had my 5 month bump photographed in the doorway of the Rovers (7 years ago). Its really strange being on set, it all seems so different but very recognisable. It always amazes me when the cars go tearing past the end of the street because there isn't actually any more road than you can see on the programme and the trains and extra houses that you can see are all dubbed onto the film. The entire set consists of the street itself with the factory and garage and then the street accross the end that used to have the nightclub which possibly became the medical centre.

breeze · 07/02/2003 18:40

I have heard that the street is a lot smaller than it actually looks, is that true.

OP posts:
Chiccadum · 07/02/2003 18:44

I'm a northern lass as well pamT, why people say we are hard to understand i don't know. Breeze, I don't know about the car in water and dissapearing act in EE but I know it's the second time in corrie, Mike Baldwins missus Linda did it and many years before Don Brennan went psycho and did it, i may be mistaken but it cud have been Ken Barlows ex. I wouldn't like to live near that river, every bugger seems to run into it

PamT · 07/02/2003 18:58

Wasn't it Alma who had a near miss with a car and a river? Can't remember who was driving though.

Yes Breeze it certainly seems smaller when you are on set but hey! I have trod the hallowed cobbles . IIRC the whole set is built on a sloping site and the Rovers end is actually built on the roof of another building. But I've had two children since I went there and it is 7 years ago. We got free tickets with a mini-break so decided to make the most of it.
