Lots of adverts advertising Richard and how he will kill again, any idea's. I know Maxine is coming out of it soon, but surely he couldn't have a reason to kill her (apart from the obvious)

yes! Thanks Fionn - you have saved my life

gosh2 · 13/01/2003 21:10

I need someone to TELL ME!! is Emily going to live, she isn't going out of it is she?

Also how did Maxines mum get to give Josh his bottle without coming downstairs, in their little house have they got bottles, etc upstairs too? A small point I know but one that could keep me awake all night, and what about heating it, they must have a microwave up there as an Avent heater takes at least 4 mins to heat up.

And she changed his nappy, she was gone for 30 seconds I swear it!

Anyhow wasn't Richard hillarious, he is like a man possessed. Hacking away.

When does he get caught? tell me tell me.

anais · 13/01/2003 21:25

Oh my....!

I was quite choked. Apparently Emily starts to remember the details. Sarah Louise can't believe that Ade would do it (he gets arrested Friday) and this starts to sow some seeds of doubt in her mind about Richard (not quite sure of the details). Gail runs away from him in the end, I think. Had to tape this for my daughter - she was allowed to stay up for the first bit. Wouldn't they hve noticed him being away from the Rover's for that long?

As an aside, Tracy Barlow is really warming up to be a prize b

AngieL · 13/01/2003 22:05

Well I was on the edge of my seat. Isn't Richard hideous! I couldn't help thinking though how stupid he looked in Ade's coat.

Clarinet60 · 13/01/2003 22:09

I cried. Sad, aren't I?

Fionn · 13/01/2003 23:33

Thing is, I remember when Corrie didn't need sensationalism to get the viewers...But I was still gripped!

mieow · 14/01/2003 06:10

oooooooooooo-errrrrrrrrrr missy!!!!!!!!!
Poor Ashley

grommit · 14/01/2003 14:17

just watched it - was on the edge of my seat, hope they don't drag it on too long - can't bear Richard's overacting for much longer...

breeze · 14/01/2003 15:47

Just watched it too, I thought it was all very well done, the best acting i think i have seen from Maxine, I wasn't too sure with Doreen reaction to it though, i know with shock and everything, norris played a blinder and ashley was fab, poor old ashley. I hope the baby turns out to be Ashleys because that would be nice, but could see Joshua being taken away and proving more heartache for poor ashley.

oh and driole, I cried too, mainly cause i am a mother and poor joshua will be without one, i know its only acting but these things happen.

gosh2 · 14/01/2003 16:51

Tell me! does Emily survive the ordeal of the mad Richard.

I have been on the Corrie webiste but it doesn't tell me anything gossipy.

Oh cannot wait until tomorrow. I do hope Josh is Ashleys, I was sad when I heard him cry.

Moomin · 14/01/2003 17:13

Great episode - I was at school today teaching Year 9s a bit of Macbeth. When we got to the bit where Macbeth kills the king and is covered in blood, one of them piped up (completely po-faced) "Miss, this is brilliant - it's JUST like Coronation Street last night". Sad thing is I totally agreed with him! Richard Hillman as the 21st century Macbeth...
Totally agree about Maxine's mum, tho. She is RUBBISH. She has enough trouble acting when she's just wafting round the house or shouting at Vera - this is really going to stretch her acting abilities (if there are any)

Hilary · 14/01/2003 17:32

Tinker, when you say Emily starts to remember the details...she didn't see anything. She was just hit from behind and didn't even know anyone was there.

I suppose she could have heard Richard telling Maxine she shouldn't have come home etc.

Exciting though, isn't it?

Quite glad not to have to watch Tracy Shaw's acting anymore, she really can't.

breeze · 14/01/2003 18:05

anyone would think that maxine and doreen were related in real life. Lets see how far tracy shaw goes now. I see she is pushing her latest video, then i doubt she will dis-appear (hopefully)

Tinker · 14/01/2003 18:46

Hilary, we were discussing that very issue today in work! I'm only repeating what I've read elsewhere so could be way off beam but I suppose she could well have heard his voice.

breeze · 14/01/2003 19:19

she could have seen his reflection somewhere. is this possible.

OP posts:
Tinker · 14/01/2003 19:40

Ooooo, now you mention it, didn't she sort of squint at the telly?????

WideWebWitch · 14/01/2003 19:43

Watched last night as a result of this thread and was gripped. Blimey! When does Gail find out, that's what I want to know!

Tinker · 14/01/2003 19:44

oh, yes, can't WAIT to see that smug smile wiped off her face!!!!

Scatterbrain · 14/01/2003 19:48

Tinker - quite agree ! She is just such a hamster face !

The bit that had me snivelling was when Doreen said "My baby - my ONLY baby" to Maxine's body !

Weren't they all unaturally calm though ? I thought Doreen would have been all screamy ?

PamT · 14/01/2003 19:52

For more Corrie Spoilers have a look here it tells you a bit more about what happens in the future but apparently Richard's fate hasn't been decided yet. It doesn't say much about Emily either although I had heard that she was leaving the show.

WideWebWitch · 14/01/2003 20:23

I liked The Mirror piece in that link, thanks PamT.

emsiewill · 14/01/2003 23:07

Disclaimer: I do know it's only a story....
But would they really arrest a man when they don't even know for sure that his wife is dead. Surely they would let him go to the hospital, even if it was under police guard? And the same for Norris.
