Lots of adverts advertising Richard and how he will kill again, any idea's. I know Maxine is coming out of it soon, but surely he couldn't have a reason to kill her (apart from the obvious)

that reminds me, since my hubby met me he has had to watch corrie (the only soap i can get him to watch though) and i told him once that curly slept with maxine, but he thinks i am winding him up, it was when curly was going to travel round the world, she slept with him thinking she wouldn't see him again, but he decided to stay (not for her though). please someone confirm this so i can shut him up. thanks

Yes, yes ? remember it clearly! Maxine was extremely drunk at the time, and hugely embarrassed afterwards. And there was Curly, thinking she might one day become the next Mrs Watts.

breeze · 10/01/2003 12:40

curly also slept with maureen holdsworth as well didn't he?, why?

OP posts:
RosieT · 10/01/2003 12:45

Because she was there?

emsiewill · 10/01/2003 13:47

Sorry for the confusion, it was Mike Baldwin who had the child with the florist. I also remember Maxine & Curly sleeping together, and him & Maureen. Does anyone else remember when Curly had a (black) girlfriend called Shirley? I think they lived above the corner shop, but his parents didn't approve. Ooooh, it's all flooding back to me now, I've been watching corrie since I was about 5, so that's approx 28 years!

breeze · 10/01/2003 14:58

yes that rings a bell, wasn't he on the bins then?.

OP posts:
RosieT · 10/01/2003 15:03

It was quite a while back, so he was either on the bins or very junior at Freshco ? which was where he met the lovely Miss February, Raquel (also a great classic character - those clothes!)
Does anyone remember Ashley's first girlfriend? Rather a big lass who used to accuse him of only being after "rumpy pumpy"!

Tinker · 10/01/2003 15:15

What is it with florists? Peter Barlow's floozy was/is a florist. Is that storyline still going?

breeze · 10/01/2003 15:33

i think the peter/lucy/shelly storyline has far to go.

I didn't watch corrie for 1 year when i met my dh, didn't see ashley and his exit.

OP posts:
breeze · 10/01/2003 15:33

replace exit with entrance.

Going back to Mike Baldwin's son with the florist - wasn't that Mark? Who had an affair with arrragghhh can't remember her name, the young slapper bird he married, you know whats-her-face!!!!

breeze · 10/01/2003 16:37

linda, thats her name. Good character, nice to see someone putting one over on him for a change.

Fionn · 10/01/2003 18:19

Why did Linda get written out? Did she want to leave? I missed a few episodes around that time and after her disappearing trick at the wedding I found it a bit odd that she disappeared without trace and all that suspicion of Mike having done her in. What happened? I thought the storyline when she started her relationship with Mike was fantastic, I agree she was a very good character.

Also, I missed some vital episodes before Christmas on the Audrey/Richard storyline. Did she pretend to Gail that she no longer suspects Richard? What is she planning?

breeze · 10/01/2003 18:22

she left to have a baby, and they left it open for her to return, but she didn't want to return so they made the story up about her living in ireland.

OP posts:
breeze · 10/01/2003 18:24

yes she pretended that she was wrong to suspect richard, but then was caught with archie shufflebottom going through his papers and it all kicked off again.

Breeze & Tinker - you're almost certainly right about the unfinished storyline with Peter & Lucy... I rely on Corrie.net for all the goss on future storylines. They're usually right anyway.

Talking of Linda - It was interesting watching her last scene at Fred & Eve's wedding, the one where she left Mike & stormed off in the car. (I think Mike threw her in?) Apparently 'Linda' was played by a different actress at that point so all we got was a back view of her & as far as I can remember, she didn't speak much, not even to answer back to Mike when he was having a go at her just before she got in/was thrown into the car. Now if that wasn't out of character, I don't know what was! V badly covered up IMO.

breeze · 11/01/2003 08:46

Bring up any storyline, remember Ann Malone, who lived with Andy Mcdonald, She had an obsessive crush on curly and ended up being frozen to death in Fresco's freezer, That was weird.

Anyone reading thiss thread that isn't a corrie fan would think that curly was so kind of sex god with all the birds he's pulled.

Can anyone beat that storyline?

OP posts:
Tinker · 11/01/2003 11:30

I think the actress who played Linda was pregnant hence lots of shoulder only hsots, hasty bundle into car with different actress.

emsiewill · 11/01/2003 11:33

Yes, I'd forgotten that the florist's son had returned - maybe my memory isn't that good. I used to like Andy MacDonald - why did they write him out and not Steve? I suppose he was a bit boring.

AngieL · 13/01/2003 12:49

Will everyone be watching tonight then? I thought it was going to happen last night, I was so disappointed. lol

breeze · 13/01/2003 12:54

i will be, couldn't see how maxine was going to get murdered, but now i can't wait. How do we think richard will be found out.

OP posts:
AngieL · 13/01/2003 13:12

I've just read that Gail works out that it was him and he goes on the run. It ends with Richard being killed!

Nutjob · 13/01/2003 17:08

Can't wait, my cable went down earlier today and I was in a blind panic thinking I wouldn't get it back in time. Luckily it is back on and peace is restored to the household!!

grommit · 13/01/2003 18:50

agghh - I am on a conference call until 8:00- oh the joys of working from home for a global corp...someone please update me!!!

Fionn · 13/01/2003 18:58

Grommit - have you got ITV2? The 2 episodes are being repeated at 10.30pm. I'm going out for a meal so have an incentive to get back in time for that.
