WHO IS RICHARDS NEW VICTIM. CORRIE

Lots of adverts advertising Richard and how he will kill again, any idea's. I know Maxine is coming out of it soon, but surely he couldn't have a reason to kill her (apart from the obvious)

I read somewhere (News of the world, perhaps), that Emily is babysitting for Maxine & Ashley, Richard comes to "do her in", and beats her up, Maxine goes back to see how the baby is, catches Richard at it, and he attacks her and kills her. Not sure why papers/mags are now saying they don't know - the article I read was giving it as fact. But then again, what is "fact" to the News of the World? But surely it's obvious, as Tracey whats-her-name is the only one of them all who's leaving?

Used to really fancy Dev but I don't think he's aging too well. Also, keep hearing him say 'Gina' in that really pained way in my head.

WideWebWitch · 08/01/2003 23:24

Haven't watched Corrie for ages but I used to fancy Dev too. Until he shagged Deidree... eeeewww!

Bozza · 09/01/2003 09:38

Dev. Yuck!

Can't see the attraction. Eurgh!

RosieT · 09/01/2003 11:10

AngieL - have you looked at www.csvu.net? (Corrie updates) sometimes you have to wait a couple of days for the episode, but I find them quite good.
Have to say I haven't watched it properly for a while. 4 nights a week ? sometimes more ? is just too much of a commitment for me. And I miss all those lovely characters like Reg Holdsworth, Rita and Percy.

breeze · 09/01/2003 11:39

isn't rita still in it? i miss jim mcdonald, he was always good for a laugh, and of course des and natalie, the list could go on, the one i don't miss was rita's daughter (played by tracy bennett) she was another painful one.

Yes, you're right of course, breeze ? I'm getting mixed up with that other woman who worked in the newsagent and was married to that fantastic character (Norris's friend) who had a giant paperclip on top of his van. Yes, miss Jim, too, tho his acting could be pretty dire at times, like when he miraculously stood up and staggered out of his wheelchair to wave a poignant goodbye to the dreadful Liz. Not up to the standard of Dierdre's googly-eyed/straining neck tendons, though.
And where do you stand on Peter Barlow? I've got a friend who fancies him, but I REALLY cannot see it myself.

Bozza · 09/01/2003 12:15

Roise you mean Mavis who was married to Derek Wilton.

And no to Peter Barlow.

Nutjob · 09/01/2003 12:16

I kind of 'half' fancy him, sometimes I think he looks dead nice, and has lovely dark brown eyes, but his nose is a bit too big and he's a bit scrawny - so I am not sure!!

Fionn · 09/01/2003 13:33

Peter Barlow definitely, and his Irish mate (or ex-mate) from Westlife.

AngieL · 09/01/2003 13:36

Ooh yes, I had forgotten about Keith thingy from boyzone. I think it's that irish accent!

breeze · 09/01/2003 14:43

no on the peter barlow front, there is something about him that i don't find attractive, its the same with joe carter, i used to like steve mcdonald, but grew out of that when i was about 20.

Now derek and mavis, yes they were brilliant together expecially with des barnes, when he stole their gnome and sent them postcards. Thats why i prefer corrie to eastenders, it is more comical.

todd is okay i supose, but nothing making me go corrrr..

OP posts:
RosieT · 09/01/2003 14:47

TODD???? He must be all of 15!

If I had to choose one of them (past and present), I guess it would probably be Nick Tilsley in his Adam Rickett incarnation. Anyone else?

breeze · 09/01/2003 15:04

the character he plays is might be about 16, but he is older about 20 i think, as i am in my 20's its not a problem. he lives with sarah in real life.

What about the new family the nelsons, the dad (if they had not already done the story line with fred) could quite easily be Ashleys dad.

breeze · 10/01/2003 11:04

Not talking about fancying, as my todd comment went down well, but can anyone think of a child actor that is any better than David Platt, i think he is a really good actor and often has me in stitches.

OP posts:
RosieT · 10/01/2003 11:16

Sorry, breeze ? didn't mean to sound judgemental about Todd. Now I think about it, he is quite attractive, although much too young for me, as I'm probably a good 10 years older than you.
Yes David Platt ? now you're talking. He's fantastic, especially when he does those wonderful demonic faces. The little brother from Hell!

breeze · 10/01/2003 11:19

No offence was taken Rosiet, speaking of corrie, the other tread about martin kemps new drama, it had an ex-corrie member in it, Denise, dodn't she have Ken's baby, if so what happened as its never mentioned. Was he with deirdre at the time ?

OP posts:
RosieT · 10/01/2003 11:25

Yes, I have a dim, distant memory, which is all coming back to me now. Didn't see Martin Kemp drama, but do you mean Denise the hairdresser (or did she have a flower shop?) - dark, attractive (in a slightly mumsy way), reminded me of Helen whatsername from that vet programme years ago... Yes, she did have Ken's baby. Or was it Mike's? No, it's all gone fuzzy again. Must be mother'sbrain.

breeze · 10/01/2003 11:29

yes she used to run the hairdressers, and it was definately ken's bahy she had. Don't know anyone in the past who owned a florist, except the one who peter barlow(the cad) had an affair with. anyone else think this storyline isn't finished. Maybe she gets pregnant (lucy i mean)

OP posts:
emsiewill · 10/01/2003 11:51

Mike Barlow had a child with Maggie who had a florist - their son was friendly with Nicky Tilsley (in the days before Adam Ricketts, when he was still called "Nicky" not "Nick". I think Ken was their teacher at some point. Can't remember what happened to that mother/son - think they may have gone to live abroad. Why can I remember so much about Corrie, but not about pension legislation? (which I am meant to be studying now, instead of which I'm on here). I think I may be able to answer my own question - because pensions are boring, and Corrie isn't!!

AngieL · 10/01/2003 11:55

I think Andy Sugden on Emmerdale is a great actor. He's had some really good story lines and has always done them really well.

breeze · 10/01/2003 11:59

emsiewill, not meaning to pick you up, you said mike barlow, do you mean mike baldwin or ken barlow as you are talking people before i started watching, if it is ken how many kids does he have ?

OP posts:
breeze · 10/01/2003 12:00

oh agree that andy sigden is a good actor, unlike his brother robert, probably why they got someone else to play him.

OP posts:
breeze · 10/01/2003 12:01

no andy sigden is not a new cast member, i meant sugden, i must preview at least once in a while.

RosieT · 10/01/2003 12:25

Yes, Mike & Ken are a bit interchangable. Perhaps it's the Diedre connection. And Ken slept with Alma once (remember that fateful christmas episode?). They could save money by almalgamating them into one character.
