That's wonderful news Apricot - celebration time!

Work was work. I got collared by a manager just as I was packing up and ended up explaining spreadsheets until 6pm Shock Ho hum. Home now and put the bins out, so at least that's not a last minute panic.

Morning wenches.

That must be such a relief Apricot. On to the next chapter for you all.

Hope the headache went quickly and stayed away Helen. I swear that the higher ups set alarms to ask things at inconvenient times.

Bit of a to do yesterday. Got home, had a bath mid-afternoon, all lovely. Then LittleSis phoned. Mother had had one of her turns for want of a better word, fortunately at a planned routine medical appointment. Investigations done there and then off they had to go to nearest big hospital for more tests. I went to DadSit. Got home well after 10. All tests were fine thankfully. Bit tired now but mother is fine which is the important thing.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/02/2025 08:32

Phew LetUs - glad to hear that all is well in the end (ignoring that fact that you'll be knackered now!)

I have a day of freelancing and buying bird food which we've accidentally run out of, so the chickens are displeased - where is their treat?!

FancyFancy · 20/02/2025 13:33

Afternoon, have a few days off as DSis & family are up for birthday celebrations. Waiting for them to arrive & simultaneously seething at the person parked like a cunt in front of my house - slightly over my drive, part on a double yellow line & part on the pavement. Parking restrictions are now in play, so they shouldn't be parking on the road at all. Pleeeeeeeeease can the parking wardens do my road on their rounds today?

Yet more parental phone calls this week, so behind on work again <sighs>

Great news about DS's house apricot Smile

ApricotCrush · 20/02/2025 17:12

Afternoon. Rain all day but it’s brightened up now.

That’s worrying about your Mum LetUs, hope she continues to be alright.

How annoying Fancy. We sometimes get people parking outside the house over the road and we have to squeeze round them to get our cars out, but we don’t own the road so nothing we can do.

Poor chickens, hope they have their treats now. Are they still in lockdown?

Evening wenches.

Mother feeling better, bit tired but that’s understandable. The other times this has happened she’s been a bit reluctant to go out for a while so we’re being encouraging for her to go places. As well all know though, is a worry.

People who don’t park illegally but inconsiderately <side eyes at next door neighbour> should have brief amounts of itching powder in their socks. Some people however find thinking of others a challenge. Or even just thinking.

Hope the chickens have had their tea.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/02/2025 21:56

Evening. The chickens did have their tea, so all is well. (Garden birds are happy too.)

FFS at inconsiderate parking - it's too much to hope that the parking wardens came round isn't it?! <cwtch> re. parental worries for Fancy and LetUs.

Work went quite well - hurrah! Lots got done, but lots to do still.

FancyFancy · 20/02/2025 23:37

Relieved to hear DM's test results were ok letus , that must have been a very stressful time for you all.

On my way home - we have been to a cheese restaurant - like Yo Sushi, but cheese <drools>

LetUsPrey · 21/02/2025 07:39

Morning wenches.

Lucky birds Helen 😊 What DH really enjoys is when he says he’s going outside to feed the birds, I start warbling the song from Mary Poppins. Loves it 😁

I saw an ad somewhere for a cheese restaurant like that (or possibly that one) and immediately thought of you Fancy.

Friday is here. I’m running late.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/02/2025 08:57

Morning all. I have washing in the machine and the clouds are getting darker... Hmm oh well.

Today's delight is a visit to a local carpark to get squished in the mobile mammogram machine. <winces> I bet if men had to get their body parts squished, they'd come up with a more comfortable solution.

Oh well. Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 21/02/2025 16:51

Afternoon. It’s been very windy all day, but it seems to have dropped now.

Hope the mammogram went alright Helen. Yes, if men had to put up with all the stuff we have to they’d have done something about it by now.

Cheese restaurant sounds lovely Fancy.

I keep thinking it’s Saturday. Hmm Have a lovely evening all.

Evening wenches.

Couldn’t agree more with you there Helen and Apricot.

Work was extra worky and I didn’t enjoy it. My weekend already seems fully planned and taken up with people, which I don’t begrudge, but it’s like it’s already gone before it starts. Whine whine whine.

Having a drink and then going to bed.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/02/2025 21:24

Evening. Today I have been very healthy and not had a hot chocolate. However, there is a pile of chocolate wrappers beside me, DS gave me a crunchie. I think the hot chocolate would have bee healthier Hmm

It's been quite breezy here, but not too bad. The washing mostly dried in the end and we didn't get any rain. The mammogram was somewhat uncomfortable, but ok.

No plans for the weekend - gardening and work I think. Maybe with a visit to Friend-With-Puppy too. Grin

LetUsPrey · 22/02/2025 07:41

Morning wenches.

<squeeeee> at puppy visiting!

Might attempt some washing on the line today. Thrilling! (It actually is quite exciting). Heading into town to collect DS2’s new glasses, and then take him clothes shopping. Then I remembered I have a prescription to collect in NearbyVillage.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/02/2025 10:41

Morning all. I had a lie-in, but unfortunately that involved WobblyCat squawking at me at regular intervals for reasons Hmm. I have also put her back on the daily drugs because she's been getting wobblier and back to sideways walking. So much for the more convenient monthly jab.

It rained overnight and I have no idea what the forecast is for the rest of the day. Jobs include trying to find what on earth I did with the chicken feed scoop on Thursday, because it vanished. I suspect I may have left it outside, and it's probably been blown away. Also, work. <le sigh> and sudoku <le frustration> Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/02/2025 14:25

Hope your mum is still ok Letus.

What kind of cheese did you have Fancy?

Did a mammogram last week Helen, the joy of womanhood Hmm

What a relief that your DS's house is sold Apes

Not much going on here, chilling on the couch with Fräsan. Been to the supermarket and bough glamourus stuff like cabbage, carrots and toiletpaper.

Here's a nice house I can't afford: Rocknö 141 | Svensk Fastighetsförmedling

ApricotCrush · 22/02/2025 15:06

Afternoon. Nice sunny day, getting a bit warmer now.

Oh, poor WobblyCat, hope the daily meds help her.

Nice house WW, love the summerhouse.

Hope the clothes shopping went well LetUs.

DS is taking us all out for a meal later for putting up with him to celebrate the house sale.

LetUsPrey · 22/02/2025 19:15

Evening wenches.

That’s lovely Wicked. For some reason when I glanced ahead at your shopping list I saw helicopter instead of toiletpaper.

What a nice thing to do for you Apricot. Hope you’re having a really lovely evening,

Poor WobblyCat. Hope she feels better. Did the scoop turn up?

Bought DS2 a couple of things. Just need to get him to wear them instead of the same things that are really too small and getting a bit tatty. Nice afternoon with mum and dad. Mum did feel a bit iffy at one point but she seemed to perk up.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/02/2025 19:26

Evening all. The weather turned out nice here in the end and gardening was done. Lots of gardening. I will be soaking in the bath later. No work got done though, and the chicken food scoop hasn't appeared either.

I think that house would do nicely Wicked Grin I didn't even bother trying to convert the price though!

LetUsPrey · 23/02/2025 08:27

Morning wenches.

Sounds a productive day Helen.

Back to rain and wind here today. Usual Sunday ahead which is fine by me. No excitement needed thank you.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/02/2025 10:57

Morning all. Today I decided to plant some seeds. Then I got them out and looked at how many I have, felt rather overwhelmed, and put them to one side (and also can't find one that I bought earlier this year, so that's a good excuse to put it on hold_ Hmm Blush
In other news, I've done the exercise thing, so hurrah! And there's washing in the machine. (The sun has gone in.)

Hope everywench has a good day

ApricotCrush · 23/02/2025 17:04

Afternoon. Wind and rain all day here too. I don’t seem to have done any washing for ages, dread looking in the basket. I’ll have a look tomorrow. Hmm

I know how you feel with the seeds Helen, I seem to be like that with everything.

Nothing going on here, just knitting.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 23/02/2025 19:56

Evening wenches.

The overwhelm is real Helen. Well done on the exercise.

Wind and rain all day here too.

Parents were fine, LovelyMIL seemed a little better but not much.

I’ve buggered up my knitting and it’s way too much to start again so I’ve put it to one side and am sulking. I’ve stupidly eaten a full bar of chocolate to try to cheer myself up but all it’s done is make me regret eating the chocolate.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/02/2025 21:47

Ah sod it LetUs - stupid knitting, stupid chocolate, stupid everything Sad
<throws blankets over everyone to hide from the 'Overwhelm'.>

The washing got mostly dry on the line, but had to be hung indoors - cue the airer falling to bits while I was putting the duvet on it. FFS and all that. Lots of gardening has been done though, again. And still more to do of course. V. blowy and damp here - driving drizzle rather than rain though, which is something.

DS had his GF over, and a brief visit from the teenage horde which was nice - haven't seen them for ages.

DH is watching a programme about Fleetwood Mac and wittering on about them. <makes 'uh?' 'Hmmm...' noises>

Back to college run again tomorrow. Joy - I'll need to set the alarm.

LetUsPrey · 24/02/2025 07:17

Morning wenches.

That’s right Helen, it can all just jolly well bugger off.

MrHelen sounds remarkably like DH when he’s watching something like that.

Monday’s here and I’m not really ready for it. Awful sleep. Anyway, on we go!

Have great days wenches.
