Morning wenches.

Boring can definitely be a good thing Fancy (also though, you’re not boring)

Wind has arrived. We’re not even supposed to be that bad compared to other areas but it already sounds fairly awful. Brilliant.

Have great days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 24/01/2025 16:49

Afternoon. Very blowy this morning, the pampas is all over the garden. I did put the duvet cover on the line with much difficulty and my peg box went flying over the lawn complete with pegs. It did dry though and this afternoon has been much calmer and sunny. Hope no-one’s had any problems.

DH has had toothache for a week despite salting and went to the dentist who told him he has two abscesses. Shock He’s now on antibiotics.

That’s it really from here. Have a good evening all. Wine

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/01/2025 20:37

Evening. <cwtch> for Apricot (for dealing with illing MrA) and MrA (for being illing). Hope that everyone has avoided storm damage.

DH continues to defy medical opinion and not get rid of his temperature. I'm just... urgh, and he's getting really down. The consultant was all positive about their plans to get him home, and it's been a complete non-starter. It took 2 hours to get sodding paracetamol on the ward this afternoon. FMAL. It would also help if DS was being less of a typical sodding unhelpful, unappreciative, self-centred teenager. At least BoringOfficeJob is being massively flexible and supportive.

LetUsPrey · 24/01/2025 20:52

Evening wenches.

Oh no MrApricot and two dental abscesses 😔. Hope the antibiotics do the trick quickly. Good news that you got washing dried outside though Apricot. Quite jealous of that.

Massive <cwtch> Helen. That sounds horrendous on all fronts. <gives MiniHelen a shake> get a grip and help your mum.

No damage here that I can see although there were wheely bins sliding across the main road this morning on the way to work so that was a treat. It was like a real life version of Mario Kart.

FancyFancy · 24/01/2025 23:01

Evening

That sounds painful apricot, I hope the ABs deal with the abscesses.

<cwtches> helen, what a worry. And with a stroppy teenager on top. Not what you need.

Glad you're home safe & sound letus. It wasn't too bad here fortunately, rain & wind but nothing awful.

LetUsPrey · 25/01/2025 07:43

Morning wenches.

Have fun putting all the stuff back Fancy and getting everything looking right.

Lots of continuing cwtches for Helen.

Meeting BestFriend this morning, then getting my hair cut, then we’re off to see DS1 and his girlfriend.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/01/2025 08:01

Morning all. Am feeling slightly more cheerful this morning, though it wasn't exactly a good night's sleep - woke up at 4am with a banging headache, and then had those 'I'm awake' dream, which involved 'waking up' to find that DS had a whole group of friends over, and had constructed wobbly bunk beds for the sleepover - but WTF where they all in school uniform? Then 'waking' to find stuff piled up in the hall ready to be lift by burglars (who were very amenable about leaving and not causing a fuss, though I did have to remind them to hand back any phones or credit cards they'd pocketed). Then 'waking up again' for...? something similar I think. Then actually being woken by wobbly cat yowling at me because I'd been a mug and let her up with me at 4am.

Anyway, enough wittering. The headache is under control and DS needs to get out the door to SportingActivity (plus shopping and hospital visits...)

Have a lovey day all, I look forward to admiring LetUs's swishy hair, and Fancy's immaculate house later Grin

ApricotCrush · 25/01/2025 17:32

Evening. Lovely sunny day but still very cold. DH is not a patient patient and expects the antibiotics to work immediately which of course they won’t.

Oh poor MrHelen, that sounds horrendous, and poor Helen having to cope with it all as well as weird dreams. < cwtch> Hope things improve soon.

Yay for swishy hair and lovely new rooms.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/01/2025 18:08

Evening. DH is home Grin. On the downside, it's more like he's been released on parole (come back if...) and he's been sent off to be ill at home rather than in hospital, because he's still feeling rough.

Wine for Apricot - I hope that MrA improves soon.

LetUsPrey · 25/01/2025 20:26

Evening wenches.

<swishes>

Good that MrHelen’s home. Hopefully he’ll start to improve. Bollocks to the mega weird dreams though. Fucksake at your subconscious.

Urgh at impatient patient Apricot. Hope antibiotics work quickly.

Had a lovely day. Good to see DS1 and his girlfriend. Have finished latest knitting project.

LetUsPrey · 26/01/2025 08:27

Morning wenches.

Horrid dreams do not make for a restful night.

Hoping for a usual boring Sunday.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/01/2025 10:40

Morning all. Everything is normal here, except I cooked breakfast, which is rare because I just can't be arsed with all the faffing around normally. If actual FAF was involved then it would be another matter of course. DH is wrapped up on his chair watching sport. Sunrise was quite pretty this morning, and the washing went on in bright sunshine. It will be out in time for the incoming rain I suspect Hmm

Have to go out to supermarket, but otherwise it's a quiet day planned - working and gardening I think.

ApricotCrush · 26/01/2025 16:24

Afternoon. Raining all day here. I had a terrible night, what with chest pain which was probably indigestion, Misty going walkabout all over me and DH snoring. I ended up in DS’s old room, but by then I’d gone past sleep.

On the positive side though, the antibiotics are kicking in thank goodness, so he’s feeling better.

Hope MrHelen is improving.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 26/01/2025 17:55

Evening wenches.

A cooked breakfast is an excellent thing though, but the messing about is a pain. Hope you had a successful day of working and gardening Helen.

Indigestion can be so bloody painful sometimes. Hope you’re feeling better Apricot. Phew for the antibiotics kicking in.

LovelyMIL was here for lunch. She’s not well unfortunately and has been steadily getting worse, increasingly confused and that sort of thing. It’s lucky there’s quite a bit of family round and about to keep an eye and help.

Otherwise I’ve been knitting and watching tv with DS2.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/01/2025 21:19

Evening all.

Sympathies on the bad night apricot Sad Heartburn is hideous. Fingers crossed for a better night tonight. And at least MrA is improving.

Sympathies on MIL LetUs - mine has dementia too, and there's no family apart form FIL and us, so that's an extra worry.

Washing and gardening got done, though the rain stymied getting it dried on the line. Poor old chickens are in lockdown, so were very happy to have the weeds lobbed at them. DH has been up and down - retreated to bed a couple of times with a low temperature.

Monday tomorrow - dooooooooom.

LetUsPrey · 27/01/2025 07:20

Morning wenches.

<squidges> Helen. The universe really is throwing everything at you right now.

Chickens in lockdown. I am picturing them US television prison style, with jumpsuits, perhaps a bandana or two, a couple of them lifting weights.

Monday is indeed doooooom. And dark.

Have lovely days wenches.

FancyFancy · 27/01/2025 09:02

Morning, absolutely chucking it down here - have to go out soon to take DD to an appointment soon, just a check up hopefully. Chonk and Floof have their vaccinations this afternoon. That'll be fun.

I hope you had a better night apricot and that MrHelen's temperature buggers off.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/01/2025 09:15

Morning. It's clear and sunny here for now, but windy (must put more washing on - that will bring the rain!)

DH thinks he slept ok. I know that he was vaguely awake at one point because we had a conversation (that he doesn't remember).

Fingers crossed for the appointment Fancy and for everyone for dealing with Monday. <shudder>

(I have just looked on IMDB to see if HBFs have anything new coming up, since we need cheering up. Did we know that Santi was in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice? TB is in a film in March - Black Bag, which also includes Jean Rege Whatnot from Brigerton S1)

ApricotCrush · 27/01/2025 16:08

Afternoon. Nice morning but chilly. It looks like rain now. I had a better night but they’re never very good.

So sorry about LovelyMIL LetUs and yours Helen. Both my MIL and my Mum died from dementia, but at vastly different ages, MIL was 69, Mum was 97. It’s very worrying.

Poor chickens, how long are they in lockdown for?

Hope the appointments went well Fancy.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 27/01/2025 19:53

Evening wenches.

We had some rain at some point.

Hope FancyDD, and Chonk and Floof appointments went well.

Did not know any of those film/tv appearances Helen. Hope MrHelen’s doing okay.

It was a bit like that Apricot for my grandma (into her 90s) and FIL (early 70s). It’s all so crap.

I’m tired and have a bit of a headache.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/01/2025 22:32

Evening all. Chickens are in lockdown until we're told they aren't Sad (usually into Spring).

Today feels like I've been quite productive, but also running about headless chicken style. I also haven't washed my hair, and it needs it. And I haven't tidied the kitchen yet. FFS and all that. <stomps off>

LetUsPrey · 28/01/2025 07:26

Morning wenches.

Oh FGS Helen, what have you actually been doing? It’s not like you’ve had and still have a lot on. <clones Helen> <puts real Helen in cwtch cupboard for a bit> <nae>

Thought for a moment when I woke up it had been Friday yesterday. What a disappointment when my brain also woke up.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2025 07:28

Morning. Oh, I hate that LetUs - the crushing disappointment when reality strikes!

This morning is grey. I'm hoping that we will have a nice sunrise though - it did that last Tuesday - all grey and bland, then a lovely golden sun came up over the marshes and did the scenic thing.

Must crack on,.. have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 28/01/2025 16:16

Afternoon. Horrible day, I've just been to put the dustbin out and it's cold and drizzly.

I never know what day it is Letus, they're all the same. Hmm DH has been ferrying DD around taking her car in to have something done to the brakes, only for her to be told that it doesn't need doing, so she's taken a day off work for nothing.

Hope MrHelen is alright and the chickens are coping.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/01/2025 20:36

Evening. Can confirm that there was no lovely golden sunrise and the day has stayed grey and wet and miserable. Plus stupid 4-way traffic lights on the college run. pfft.

<cbf> at whoever told DDApricot that her brakes needed work. But good point re. bins - it's bin night here (such excitement!) once WobblyCat has got off my lap.

DH has had a better day today - he has ended up back in bed at 6pm instead of lunchtime Hmm. Maybe I should have pretended it was pre-school and got him to go for a pre-emptive lunchtime nap. Will suggest that for tomorrow (while I'm BoringOfficeJob an unable to enforce it).
