Snow seems to be mostly going but the roads do not look fun. NC has messaged to say she’s stuck in traffic on her bus and the roads (work town) haven’t been gritted. Ah well, nothing to be done about it except drive carefully and hope other people do the same.

Moving things about and trying to fit it somewhere else is definitely a challenge Fancy.

Afternoon. More snow overnight and a horrible 25-mile round trip to take DH’s car in, but it’s done now. Hopefully it will have warmed up a bit when we collect it.

Good idea about the lights Helen. I looked at ours but they’re too Christmassy to leave up, so everything’s down and put away now. Hope LetUs got to work safely, the decorating has gone well Fancy, and yay for slightly lighter mornings.

Journey to work itself wasn’t too bad for me. Car park wasn’t great and the walk across town was dicey in places but nothing awful. Back to normal re journey home though. Was prepared for the main road closure going into effect again, but the temporary lights on the route that most people will be diverted on was an unexpected bonus. Ah well.

Good that the car’s sorted now Apricot.

Evening all. No snow here, just rain and wind and cold and not very niceness. DS and I survived the first 'return to education' morning. Tomorrow I have 'return to early morning exercise class' and I'm very much hoping that the heating will be working there, because we've had some chilly sessions in the past.

I hope the decorating and furniture shuffling is going well Fancy. Sympathies on the return to work Wicked. Hurrah for the car getting to the garage Apricot. <cbf> at roadworks chez LetUs, and [vodka].

More snow overnight which was not part of the agreement. I’ve checked and the temporary lights are due to be there for two weeks, to be joined over the next couple of days by two more sets on the same road, and one just round the corner from it. I’m hoping it’s a mistake on the roadworks bulletin because otherwise it’ll be carnage.

DS2 back to college today but he’ll be making his own way in as I’ve got a physio appointment at GP surgery. He wasn’t pleased.

Hope exercise class is/was warm Helen.

Afternoon. Very icy with frozen snow this morning, so glad I didn't have to go out. It's all gone now.

Nothing going on here. Hope work has been reasonable for everyone.

Evening all. Exercise class was warm enough, so that was ok. Outside is at ski-clothes levels of cold, or it was for walking up the road this evening. On the plus side, the sun meant that I had washing out on the line today. I do need to hang some up to air - forgot about that. It's all sitting in the laundry basket still. <collapses with overwhelming lack of interest>


Work was work-ish. I did a work-plan for the year, showing all my commitments. It looks a bit scary when I put it all on one spreadsheet. Ho hum...

Hope that everyone has had a decent day and traffic hasn't been hellish.

Afternoon. Heavy frost this morning which hasn't shifted all day. I've been sorting out admin which included trying to tidy up the computer.

DH has my car to bits in the garage. He's cutting out some rust on the sills and filling it. This means that as his car is being repaired, we don't have any transport if needed, which is a bit concerning.

Glad you're feeling a bit better LetUs, hope it isn't too bad.

Though I'm now entertaining myself by imagining a lego car with replacement blocks in different colours What is it about men people deciding that it's the best time to do something, when it clearly isn't the best time and actually there are more important things to be done anyway? <side-eyes at DH who has no common sense sometimes been a bit of a drama-llama tonight>

WobblyCat decided tonight that I hadn't cleaned out the litter tray fast enough and she was going to wee randomly round the sitting room while I was out. Argh. The carpet cleaner has been out. (Done by me obvs, when I got back, because it is beyond the abilities of the manshapes to do any mopping or cleaning. Though cleaning of the letter tray was done, after step-by-step instructions were texted. FML.) Hopefully she's sorted now and not in need of a vet trip for frequent tiny wees - if she does then DH may have to sort that out since I have a dentist visit tomorrow.

WobblyCat seems to have reverted to normal behaviour thank goodness. Perhaps is was just a 'dirty protest' re. her litter tray. Fussy little moggy.

Is far too cold and is apparently snowing or sleeting or something again according to DH’s mutterings as he left the house. Will DS2 wear his warm coat, particularly considering he walks back from college? Two chances which are none and feck all.

The car is back together now and it looks like new. And yes Helen why do they always find the worst time to do jobs? I remember in years past he always had to get light fittings down on Christmas Eve to clean them when I could have done with some help. Hope WobblyCat is alright.

Brrrrrrrrrr. Awful traffic this morning. Set off earlier than I normally would with DS2. A less than 10 minute journey took over 30 minutes and he was late. Didn’t matter too much for him today but he’s got an exam tomorrow morning so he’s going to have to be ready a lot earlier. Took me almost two hours to get to work. Combination of weather, bad roads, and many many different roadworks. Thankfully was just a bit awful on the way home at just an hour. Hurrah for BBC Sounds!

DH is watching SAS Rogue Heroes.

Urgh LetUs That's grim. I hope that tomorrow is better and that DS does well with the exam.

Sun came up all scenic while I was driving DS to the bus (there was a car in the car park with doors a different colour to the body - clearly deliberately, but it made me think of Apricot's car, which doesn't look like that at all, apart from in my head ), I'm considering going back to bed for 20 minutes, but that sort of thing never ends well and I'd do better getting on the stepper. Don't want to do that either. Ho hum.

Evening. Sunny day but very cold. Helen I went back to bed and had another hour’s sleep this morning after a bad night but felt dreadful when I woke up, so it isn’t worth it.

DH’s golfing friend took him to get his car back this afternoon so that saved me having to go out. We now have two drivable cars back again.

Hope the traffic was better today LetUs and DS2’s exam went well.

Traffic improved on yesterday thank goodness. DS2 said his exam was “good”.

Was -5 when I left this morning which is completely unreasonable. As is Wicked’s storm which I’m sure will be making things feel much much colder.
