Morning. urgh. DD appeared at 6:30, sat on the bed, then raced out and hurled up in the bathroom. Not a good start to the day Sad.

Needless to say, I still need to get up and do morning chores, etc etc. I didn't see Strike last night - was busy catching up with work. Could potentially binge the first two tonight. (Or could go to bed and sleep.)

Have a good day all.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/12/2024 07:49

Also, cracking sunrise this morning - all deep reds and oranges. Currently faded to peach. Plus scenic birds flying majestically past sunrise to add to the ambiance when I was feeding the chickens. (Obv. not the chickens flying past - nothing less majestic than chickens flapping away!)

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/12/2024 12:23

How about a sticker for "Most annoying participant in a tour" Grin

ApricotCrush · 17/12/2024 17:38

Afternoon/evening. Damp and overcast here. I went for a routine blood test this morning and discovered on the way that our local Boots has shut down. Sad

The hair is alright Helen, I’ve had another go at it and levelled it up a bit. It’s layered so it doesn’t really matter. DH will be horrified next time he cuts it. Grin

Loving the graveyard stickers and Go Fuck YoursElf.

Urgh wenches - DS has been throwing up all day Sad The whole day has been rather disrupted and DH is stressing that he's going to catch it too. I could also live without getting it, but I'm a bit resigned to it.

We won't be watching Strike tonight in case of sudden dashes out of the room, and because I'm not sure that we have the necessary powers of concentration.

FFS at your Boots Apricot. I'm sure you weren't the most annoying Wicked - you're a wench!

Hope that LetUs and Fancy have both had decent days.

I identify with this...

Evening wenches.

Work = aaarrggghhhhh

Wicked 😁 I think we’d have to share that sticker

Poor MiniHelen. Hope he’s feeling better soon. Sunrise sounds beautiful.

We’ve got shops closing too Apricot. The town where I work used to be such a great place for shopping. Is a bit of a ghost town now.

That poem is spot on.

LetUsPrey · 18/12/2024 07:23

Morning wenches.

Crikey, where’s this wind come from? Blowing up a storm (almost) here. Just heard a bin go over or something and it’s forecast to get worse. Hope all wenches are okay.

Short day thank goodness.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/12/2024 09:22

Morning. Windy here too, and I don't know what the sunrise did because DH got up and sorted out the livestock - hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm shattered though - DS reverted to primary age and appeared at midnight wanting to snuggle up in bed, which was lovely, but he takes up rather a lot of space an no sleep was had until normal beds were resumed. Am at least WFH. And he hasn't thrown up for 12 hours. Fingers crossed!
Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 18/12/2024 16:23

Afternoon. Very windy here this morning but it’s calmed down now and is raining. I never see the sunrise, the curtains aren’t open by then. Hmm

Poor MiniHelen, hope he’s recovering. Sickness bugs are horrible, I have a dread of them. I’d rather give birth. Really. And DS took 48 hours, on and off.

We’re half way through Strike and will continue on the i-Player tonight. I’m very confused, there are so many people in it. Confused

Evening wenches.

Short day seemed like quite a long day.

Wind and rain on and off all day.

Good news re the lack of vomit from MiniHelen. Hopefully he’s on the right side of it now.

There were an awful lot of characters in it Apricot and I found it tricky to keep track of them all in the book. Mind you, I struggle with stuff like Wolf Hall sometimes and really wouldn’t mind if they wore name tags.

Knitted some socks for a doll when I got in. Did a left one. Then wasn’t concentrating and did another left one. Not much of a hardship as they don’t take long at all but still, le sigh.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/12/2024 21:07

Evening all windy here to, then it dropped and we have rain. IdiotKitty was outraged (but now he's asleep).

I remember Ink Black Heart being a nightmare for the number of people- especially since they had their online names as well. I mean, what sort of weirdos do the? Hmm Grin I suppose at least on TV, they have the same face so it's obvious they're the same person! I'm interested to see how the book translates actually, since so much of it was transcripts on multiple online chats.

DS was asking who was who in Wolf Hall as well. I was Confused and just reverted to 'Team Cromwell' Grin

There's been no vomit from anyone today (not even the cats) so hopefully DS is over it and we're in the clear. Fingers crossed...

LetUsPrey · 19/12/2024 07:14

Morning wenches.

Think we’ll try to get to Ink Black Heart this weekend, then do the next two after Christmas.

Good news re the HelenHousehold. 😁 At “Team Cromwell”

More shopping today where I will be surprised at “it’s how busy in an M&S food hall before 8.30?!” even though I know it’s going to busy. Got to get the treats for the parents though.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/12/2024 09:25

Morning all. No visible sunrise this morning, though we do have some blue sky now. Today will include posting stuff and also work. I've also done the bins. I don't know how to handle this much excitement Hmm

ApricotCrush · 19/12/2024 17:39

Evening. Sunny this morning but rain this afternoon.

I’ve very much been carrying out your Christmas To Do List today Helen. I can’t be arsed with it all. Even the knitting has ground to a halt. Hmm

Lol at your two left socks LetUs, easily done. Grin

Evening wenches.

Tiiiiiiirrreddddddd because of bad night’s sleep and another busy day. Was surprised how cold it was today compared to yesterday. The shopping before work went well. Just need to wrap it all which is a job for the weekend.

You did the bins Helen?! Steady on there.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/12/2024 22:34

I did the bins, oh yes! Hmm Then I did the correct bin as well. Hmm Fortunately next door had the right bin out, which prompted me to double check who's made the mistake.

The wind has been bitter today - I nipped out to the shops at lunchtime and brrr!!!! Lots of rain overnight too.

FancyFancy · 19/12/2024 23:01

Evening

Having a dull week so far - mostly work and some shopping. Still haven't wrapped any presents, but at least the decorations are up. Probably the most exciting thing is getting a new work laptop as mine died. Not my 'old' work laptop, which appears to be the cockroach of the IT world, but my new one. Our lovely IT people got me a replacement with impressive speed.

I hope miniHelen is soon fully recovered & that everyone else escapes the lurgy.

It's my last day at work before the holidays tomorrow & the shortest day after that - is that a tiny speck of light at the end of that tunnel?

LetUsPrey · 20/12/2024 07:24

Morning wenches.

Just wondering which idiot thought it would be a good idea to put a wash on to finish the morning and that it’s mostly pants and socks. Oh yes, that would be me. Muppet.

A properly functioning IT department or person Fancy? Nope, you’ve lost me. You’ll be telling me they’re pleasant people to deal with next. Also looking forward to getting over that shortest day.

Every street needs a binfluencer Helen.

More shopping, then work. Must remember tape dispenser otherwise wrapping’s going to be more of a pain than usual.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/12/2024 08:55

Morning all. Last day of BoringOfficeJob today, but freelancing continues. We've been given a half day, which is nice, until you pro-rata it for part time and find out that you can leave 20 minutes early Hmm #exaggeration #ungrateful - it's very nice to get any extra time off.

Sympathies on the wash LetUs - I did one yetersay but forgot to put it out until 2pm which was really quite pointless, though I think it did get a tiny bit drier. I didn't even bother with the socks though, just draped them on the airer.

Work awaits...

ApricotCrush · 20/12/2024 16:42

Afternoon. Cold, dark and rainy. I went to Sainsbury's this morning to do the final shop and it was pretty busy. If I go next week it will be rammed. I'm sure I've forgotten something though. I'm not doing the main meal, but I'm helping DS do Boxing Day as he's never done a Christmas meal by himself and he's got nine of us going.

Yay for successful shopping, new laptop and early finish.

Have a good evening all. Wine

Evening wenches.

20 whole minutes Helen! Coooooo!

Friend of mine went to Lidl earlier today Apricot, said it was absolute carnage.

I think I’ve finished the shopping now although am getting The Twitch as far as both DC are concerned,

Am watching TOTP: Christmas 1989 where they do a summary of the year. They just showed a clip of the video for Prince when he did the Batman soundtrack. I’ve got that album somewhere.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/12/2024 22:11

Evening all. Ye gods, KillerKitty went on a Texas Chainsaw style rampage with a mouse - everytime I thought I'd cleared it up, I found more carnage Confused.

DH is in bed feeling under the weather still and I am on SportingActivity duties tomorrow. And the kitchen needs tidying, etc etc...

Turned out to be actually 1.5 hours LetUs - so I logged out, and into freelancing instead. 'Live, Life, Love'? More 'Work, Work, Work' <eye roll>

Hope everyone had a good day and has fun weekend plans!

LetUsPrey · 21/12/2024 09:12

Morning wenches.

Oh KillerKitty, give it a rest for a bit and let Helen have a break from the mouse bits.

Dishes are done, washing is on, heading into town in about an hour but need to dry my hair first. And then, oh joy of joys, wrapping presents. I did remember the tape dispenser thing from work so that helps a tiny bit.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/12/2024 11:15

Morning all. I have dropped off DS, done shopping, and now back at SportingActivity I also need to do wrapping and cake making and, and, and... At least shopping wasn't too grim - in and out as fast as possible (said no HBF ever) Grin

Maybe we could wrap ourselves up and send ourselves to 'HBFs, c/o The Garrison'?
