Morning. It's dark and damp, and I've had very little sleep. Not helped DS sleeping on an air bud type thing and repeatedly calling me through the night. (Reader, I blocked him - temporarily).

Work event was fun with good company. We made the last train back to the car. I am currently at Chateau Fancy traumatising Chonk and Floof by dint of existing. I have not RTFT...

Afternoon. Very damp and dingy, I don’t think it’s got properly light. I went out and posted the last few cards. Still a few to deliver.

Aww LetUs, I wish I could make it a bit lighter, but we’re getting there. I had a shocking night too, woke up at 4 o’clock and didn’t get back to sleep.

Fab flying wench visit yesterday but was not very with it this morning and so forgot to leave lunch for Chonk and Floof. Returned from work Christmas lunch to a couple of cats who were very pleased to see me. Especially as I was on my own. It's no reflection on any guest ever, they really are a shy pair 😁

Also grey and miserable here, was supposed to be writing cards and putting decorations up this evening. Have I? Have I buggery. Must do one card so I can say I've started, and then get an early night. Three presents did arrive in the post today, so that was good, only a couple more to arrive now.

Thank you WW, but I didn’t look very glamorous this morning as I had a colour on my hair and as my usual hairdresser (DH) wasn’t available I cut it myself. Goodness knows what state it’s in. Eeeeek at snow, hope it didn’t last.

Hope shopping, writing cards and meeting friend went well.

Meet up was lovely. Managed to find two books in a couple of book series I was missing in secondhand shops. Nothing much else exciting.

Afternoon. Quite a nice day and not cold. DS came round with DGD this morning to collect a parcel which he had delivered here because we’re more likely to be in. I’ve been doing some mending jobs DD has given me, one of which involved getting the machine out, but they’re done now.

Fancy, DH always says “a man does that, I’m a man, ergo I can do that”. He’ll tackle anything, but no man is perfect and he does have his annoyances.

Yay for friend meet up, books, wrapped presents and written cards.

Am still behind with Wolf Hall, probably because I started watching Dalgliesh which is also excellent.

A couple of very good football results in the last 10 minutes or so for our household which you may have all gathered by hearing the noise from here.

I am behind on all TV, except Day of the Jackal, which we finished and it was v. good. Though DS has enjoyed Wolf Hall, so I should be able to watch the rest of it with minimal fuss. Then we have Strike starting tomorrow, which will stack up on the box as well.

Apparently it's a 'Cold Moon' tonight which might be somethind to do with the meteor shower, or where it's rising and setting. Whatever, it's also an invisible moon because it's behind the clouds here.

Morning all. It's cloudy outside, but not solid, so there's slivers of blue sky poking through. And there was enough of a clear sky to point out he moon to DS on the way to the bus.

Today has been a grind already - get up, feed cats, make breakfast, feed chickens, do college run, give drugs to cat, lay fire, find and clear up cat vom, wash carpet, empty litter tray, bring coffee to illing DH, bring biscuit to DH, put washing on... I'm mean, first world problems and all that, but honestly, it would be just nice to lie in bed one morning and have someone else do everything. <le enormous self-pitying sigh, accompanied by tiny violin>

And now, to work.

On the plus side, I have chocolate sitting on the desk in front of me too, so I'm sorted for emergencies.

Afternoon. Mediocre day, not cold. I went to Lidl this morning and did another couple of jobs locally. I’ve also renewed my car insurance which was easy as the company only wanted 50p extra on top of last year.

Yay for good footie results LetUs. We’re at the other end sadly. A few years back we had a really great team, riding high in the league. Then one by one all our best players were sold. New ones were brought in and if one really stood out you knew by the end of the season he’d be gone. Contracts mean nothing. I blame the agent, he brokers the deals. The player gets an offer he can’t refuse and the agent takes his cut. It happens year after year. I only know the names of about 3 players now. It’s a shame for the fans and the managers who take the blame.

Gosh Helen, that sounds a bit manic, although the chocolate should help.

Strike tonight and we’ll be watching it ‘live’. I still haven’t got the book so it will all be new to me.
