Afternoon. Nice day, the wind seems to have dropped. We watched Wolf Hall last night, it is very good. I think it helps that I know the story and I’m not wondering what’s going on as I am with many of the dramas we watch.

I’ve never been to a ballet WW, but yes the men’s tights are tight. Hmm

Hope Fancy got home okay and Chonk and Floof have forgiven her.

I couldn’t give a sudoku to DH to finish Helen, he’d never let me forget it if he did it.

Grin at giant sponge

Evening wenches.

Work was very very worky and then it started doing the rather icy rain thing as I walked to the car park.

Good news that you feel okay Helen. Not an ideal start for you though.

Hope you’re home safe and sound Fancy, and that Chonk and Floof are fine with you but perhaps managed to wheedle extra treats first 😁

That is a definite bonus with Wolf Hall Apricot.

BestFriend went to the ballet a few years ago and I remember her saying that obviously the dancers are all amazing etc but it all looks so light so she was surprised how noisy it was when they landed!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/11/2024 22:18

Ah - Sudoku. DH was stumped and put it into an online solver - which said it was impossible. Hmm Then he tried another online solver which said it was doable, but you had to work through about 8 steps before you could work out if it was right. So, unsolvable.

Urgh to the icy rain thing LetUs, and to work, obvs.

Still haven't got past episode 1 of Wolf Hall. Was planning to watch one tonight, but had two episodes of Jackal instead.

I've not been to the ballet for... a loooooooooong time. I think I saw Nutcracker as well though.

Hope that Fancy is home safely and Chonk and Floof have been suitably welcoming.

We have much consternation here, IntelligentCat has wobbled over several times this evening. We're hoping that she's just been curled up in one place for too long and her back legs just got stiff and arthritic. DS has brought down a blanket for her, which StupidKitty has coming in and pounced on. I thought he was kneading it and snuggling up, but actually I'm not convinced that he's not trying to shag it! Shock Confused (Spoiler - he won't get far with that idea, because he's been snipped.)

FancyFancy · 25/11/2024 23:48

Got home with this afternoon - first part of the journey was slow as we had to take the stopping train route. Then I got lucky with the trains to my house, so that was welcome.

Chonk & Floof have been very sweet - much purring. Chonk is sitting next to me now.

Fingers crossed IntelligentCat is ok

LetUsPrey · 26/11/2024 07:29

Morning wenches.

Fingers crossed for IntelligentCat. And 🤔 at silly sudoku. Very frustrating.

Phew for getting home and hurrah for easier second part of journey. Purring cats sound just the thing.

Bad dreams and waking up in a full sweat do not make for a restful night. Ah well, on we go.

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/11/2024 10:29

Fucking hell wenches, I'm having a shit day already and haven't even got to the vet yet with Intelligent-but-immobile-Cat. DH is out trying to get to an appointment an hour away and the main road is shut so he's a ball of seething stress and has forgotten to take paperwork which I had to dig out and whatsapp at him.
Still, it's distracting me from the imminent vet visit....

FancyFancy · 26/11/2024 10:53

<cwtches> Helen and keeping everything crossed for you

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/11/2024 12:59

Intelligent cat is home again on anti-inflamatories, and she's had food and drink, she just can't take her own weight (and she's not exactly lardy). [worried]

ApricotCrush · 26/11/2024 16:14

Afternoon. Lovely sunny day but cold. I went out to post a parcel this morning and the queue was horrendous and the person at the front took forever. Then I met a neighbour in Sainsbury's and spent ages chuntering to her so a trip which should have taken half an hour took three times as long. It doesn't matter, but I hate wasting time.

Oh no Helen that all sounds very stressful. I do hope IntelligentCat recovers soon. They're such a worry when they're not well. <cwtch>

Awww at Chonk and Floof and sympathy for bad dreams and poor sleep LetUs.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 26/11/2024 17:02

Lots of hugs Helen

LetUsPrey · 26/11/2024 18:42

Evening wenches.

Many hugs Helen and everything crossed for IntelligentCat improving with the anti-inflammatories.

Similarly awful traffic here. The main road which is my route to work not too far from home has been closed for most of the day because of an accident. However, I tried to count my blessings that even though I’ve spent about two hours getting to and from work, at least I got there and back safely.

Ah catching up with a friend isn’t a waste Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 26/11/2024 21:25

Evening all. No change on the cat front, other that IdiotKitty got a whiff of the rehydration food and did his best impression of a sniffer dog, before I left him finish the dregs.
Work was workish (when I managed to get some done).

I agree with LetUs - time catching up with friends is never wasted. (Unlike time spent in traffic jams.) speaking of which, the traffic cleared enough for DH that he wasn't late in the end.

LetUsPrey · 27/11/2024 07:27

Morning wenches.

Yes, can’t imagine that it’s easy to get across “no that special food’s not for you” 😁

Good news that MrHelen wasn’t late.

It’s really dark this morning. Not keen. Have to take my car to the garage as I need either a tyre replacing or repairing. I think this is the third time in the last couple of years. Never known anything like it.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/11/2024 07:32

Morning all. Daaaaaaark, raining.
IntelligentCat is the same, though somehow hauled herself onto the sofa after I'd settled her on her beanbag last night Hmm Is she fine and just being devious?

Sympathies on the tyre LetUs - very tedious.

Have a good day all.

ApricotCrush · 27/11/2024 16:45

Afternoon. Nice sunny day but still very cold. I went to the dental hygienist this morning and had the usual lecture. Hmm

DH has been up a ladder again. He’s been renovating the lamppost in our front garden as it wasn’t working but it’s sorted now. My neighbour yesterday remarked about him always being on the roof or up a tree. Confused

I was dreading tyre issues with the MOT LetUs because they’re so expensive. Hope yours isn’t too bad.

Fingers crossed for IntelligentCat.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/11/2024 20:47

Evening all. Intelligent Cat hasn't moved off the sofa for most of the day, she's quite happy lying there and having food brought to her Hmm Though she hasn't used the litter tray for 48 hours now which is worrying. (I did read online that they can hold it all in for 48 hours if they're stressed and not wanting to fall over in their own wee/poo)

We shall see. Other than that, work was workish and the weather was miserable. Traffic was horrendous this morning - lots of blue lights and slow traffic.

Shock at MrA being up ladders again - at least he's fixed it so he can stay on the ground again now, until the next thing he wants to fix. Maybe he was a mountain goat in a previous life?

Hope everyone has had a decent day.

LetUsPrey · 27/11/2024 21:55

Evening wenches.

Hopefully IntelligentCat is just being devious and has also used the facilities.

One new tyre. Sigh. Perhaps that can be a Christmas present to myself.

I must get better with the teeth flossing. I’ve got the packets of the little brushes out. Just need to use them.

Grin at MrApricot the former mountain goat.

LetUsPrey · 28/11/2024 07:42

Morning wenches.

Brrrrrr everything’s iced over this morning. Not keen.

I say this every year but are we sure we can’t move Christmas to say February? I still wouldn’t be organised for it though would I?

Running a bit behind again so I’d better get a shift on.

Have super days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/11/2024 08:31

Morning all. The litter tray has been used overnight, but of course I have no idea who used it. FFS.

It's coooold outside and a bit frosty. The sunrise was a sort of peachy orange when the sun caught the clouds.

Today's decision will be to look at the dress which arrived in the post yesterday and decide whether I like it enough to order a size smaller when I return it, or just give it up as a sack bad job. I suspect it's one of those things where it looked great on the model, but just doesn't work for me. There's also the one that fits, but I'm not sure how much I actually like it now it's here. Hmm

FancyFancy · 28/11/2024 13:55

Afternoon

I think your neighbour has the measure of MrA apricot Grin

Frosty here too letus - I do have the advantage of little furry heaters every evening.

Fingers crossed that was IntelligentCat using the facilities helen. FancyCat had a couple of issues with back legs when she got older - came on very suddenly, was just the one leg & was quite alarming the second time as her balance went right off & she was very unhappy. It did start to improve after a couple of days with meds, so hope it's similar for IntelligentCat too.

ApricotCrush · 28/11/2024 16:26

Afternoon. Sunny day but the frost hasn’t moved where the sun hasn’t reached.

I have those little brushes LetUs but they only seem to see the light of day when I’m going to the dentist. Hmm

Grin at DH as a mountain goat. Also a tyre as a Christmas present.

Aww at little furry heaters.

Hope IntelligentCat is improving.

LetUsPrey · 28/11/2024 20:11

Evening wenches.

NiceColleague’s cat was similar with the wobbly back legs, difficulty getting upstairs, etc. Not sure what the vet gave her or what food she has now but she’s much improved. Here’s hoping IntelligentCat is properly on the mend.

Not keen on clothes shopping at the best of times but I got fed up of ordering stuff online and sending it all back. Hope you have better luck Helen.

I’ve not actually used the little brushes yet either Apricot, but getting them out is a start.

Work was super busy and I’m rather tired.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/11/2024 22:02

Evening all. I think it was IntelligentCat in the litter tray, so that's good, She still can't stand on her back legs though. She can still curl up on laps though - furry heaters are the best Grin

It's been cold here too, with mist/fog coming down as the sun set as well. Brrr, etc. I have remembered to put the frost cover on my car windscreen, so there won't be a frost tonight.

DH swears by a water flosser thing - I think it was originally recommended on MN.

I'm tired too...
<joins LetUs the hayloft>

LetUsPrey · 29/11/2024 07:37

Morning wenches.

I’ve considered the water flosser but I’m not sure. Not because I doubt whether it works, but whether I’d use it on a regular basis.

Very dark again this morning, but at least it’s Friday. Still full of urgh though.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 29/11/2024 16:51

Afternoon. Nice day, we went a walk this afternoon. The National Trust place up the road are strengthening a wooden bridge over a road with very serious scaffolding over it and DH was interested to see what they’re doing.

I tried the water flosser LetUs. It was good but it was too harsh for my gums, which are quite delicate.

I’ve stopped buying clothes. All the lovely shops in town have gone and I can’t be bothered with the hit and miss of internet shopping. I reckon I’ve got enough to keep me going.

We’re going out for a meal tonight with friends. Have a lovely evening all.
