Evening wenches.

That sounds interesting about the bridge Apricot. Nice that you’ve something like that in walking distance. Enjoy your evening out.

Work happened.

Have collected DS2 from SportingActivity and now plan to have a drink and carry on watching Darby and Joan which has got Greta Scacchi and Bryan Brown in it. Bit detective-y. Enjoyable to have on whilst knitting.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/11/2024 21:07

Evening all.

MrA interesting in the scaffolding apricot? I'm surprised you didn't have to stop him climbing up it! Grin Hope you have a lovely meal out.

It has been another chaotic day. Morning chores, getting DS to the bus, then hitting the stepper and logging into BoringOfficeJob, interrupted by helping look for missing dogs (which were caught by next door) and a missing cat. Then fetching DS again...

Intelligent cat is much improved, she can get herself about at surprising speed, including up the stairs, but her back legs aren't working properly and she lurches a lot. Unfortunately she also doesn't stay where she's put now - hence looking for missing cat. Today's hiding places have been squeezed between the wardrobe and the wall, and under our bed. She's also gone from not using the litter tray to multiple wees, so now I get to worry about that as well (and need to buy more litter), She also fell over into one of them which was very undignified since I had to wash her down and comb out her fur - she wasn't pleased. She's not eating much either, so I'll be buying something obscenely expensive tomorrow to try and entice her.

LetUsPrey · 30/11/2024 08:47

Morning wenches.

Poor wobbly IntelligentCat. Hopefully a change of food will help. More worry and expense (although the expense is worth it).

Sun trying to shine this morning. Off to yarn shop as the particular shade I want that’s been out of stock for months, and I couldn’t get anywhere else locally and it wasn’t worth paying postage to get it online, is finally available again. Then bookshop to collect Christmas presents for family babies. Then tidying the tip of a house,

Have great days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/11/2024 11:01

Morning all. WobblyCat wobbled purposefully into the kitch by herself this morning for food, and actually tucked into some quite cheerfully. Not her normal portion, but everything is headed in the right direction. She even took herself outside (once I'd opened the door - catflap is a 'no'), but came in as soon as IdiotKitty joined her. She'd hiding under our bed now, because it's time for her medicine. <le sigh>

I have just been enticed into buying some bulbs to plant in the garden - Black Friday sale, so I should probably close the laptop now and make sure I don't get tempted by anything else. (There is a Christmas fair nearby though, so I may get enticed in person!)

Hope everywench has a good day and the yarn shopping is successful.

LetUsPrey · 30/11/2024 18:28

Evening wenches.

Yarn successfully bought. May also have bought another pair of knitting needles. Lots of house stuff done, still no Christmas prep.

That’s very good news about WobblyCat Helen. Here’s to continuing improvement.

ApricotCrush · 30/11/2024 19:46

Evening. Thought I’d posted earlier but obviously not. Nice meal last night, good to catch up with friends.

Yes, I did look up at the scaffolding on the bridge and imagined him climbing it to have a look at the top. Grin

Yay for new yarn and needles and WobblyCat improvement.

Evening wenches. I have been at a gig. I am slightly deaf now. Grin

LetUsPrey · 01/12/2024 07:59

Morning wenches.

Tipping it down this morning.

Now picturing MrA getting one of those enormous climbing frames for the garden for him to use when the golf course is shut.

Hurrah for gig Helen! I said HURRAH!

Lots to do, no drive to do any of it. Le sigh.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/12/2024 13:18

Afternoon all. I'm running about like a headless chicken, and off to meet friends now.

Also raining here and damp washing is strew across the house.

ApricotCrush · 01/12/2024 16:30

Afternoon. Nice day, no rain, but it gets dark so early. Sad

One of DH's friends has given him a bucket of windfall apples, so we've spent the afternoon peeling and stewing. I'll probably make some crumbles with them if I can get round to it.

Grin at enormous climbing frame.

Have a lovely evening all. We'll be watching Wolf Hall, I am enjoying it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/12/2024 18:07

Evening all. We saw friends and had a lovely natter and general catch-up. Christmas lights and tinsel have been thrown about the house and the tree has come inside, though not actually in place yet so we have to wiggle around it.

This will be MrA's Christmas present this year Grin

LetUsPrey · 01/12/2024 18:29

Evening wenches.

Usual Sunday shenanigans. Went into town with DS2 mid-afternoon and bought cards and a few other bits and pieces. Festive feeling very much still absent. DH said I shouldn’t be so negative about it all so I explained I was bored of doing all the thinking and planning and buying and organising and cards and wrapping and hated it. Well don’t do it then he said in a strop. Oh right, and so no one will have any cards or gifts then because who else is doing it? Strangely silent. Grumble grumble grumble.

Did you, er, did you get round to making the apple crumble Apricot? Just curious.

Imagine how happy MrA would be with that gift!

I’m an episode behind with Wolf Hall. I’ll catch up in the week.

FancyFancy · 01/12/2024 19:29

Mmmmm apple crumble <drools>

Spent a lot of yesterday driving - DDad has decided to not reapply for his license so I decided to buy his car & trade in mine. It's almost a like for like swap, but his car was a bit newer & has hardly any miles on the clock and a few less scratches so seemed too good an opportunity to miss. Drove up to a city near him, swapped the cars, dropped in to see him & stepmum & then drove home. Have achieved little since.

Love the climbing frame - had much fun on those when the DC were little Grin
Glad to hear WobblyCat is improving

The planning does rather suck the joy out of it all doesn't it letus?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/12/2024 20:05

Monday tomorrow, yay! Hmm

Visited mum yesterday and dit a bit of shopping. Today I'v been putting up Christmas lights and other decorations both inside and outside. It's like a full time job!

Discovered Grantchester and been binging it. On season 3 now.

Glad WobblyCat is improving ❤

LetUsPrey · 02/12/2024 07:44

Morning wenches.

That’s a fair bit to sort out though Fancy with all the driving and swapping and organising of everything.

I bet all the lights look lovely Wicked.

We are forecast light rain which explains why it’s hammering it down. Hopefully it’ll stop before I have to walk from the car park.

Will try to work on lists <nto> at lunchtime at work. Cards are bought at least.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/12/2024 08:46

Morning. The clouds have cleared over and we have blue skies and sun (sorry LetUs).

WobblyCat is still wobbling along. I should probably call the vet late to discuss next steps in treatment since she's responded to the drugs we have just now, and they might want to see her moving to try and diagnose where the problem is. Who knows.

Also, work. <le sigh>

ApricotCrush · 02/12/2024 16:53

Afternoon. A bit cloudy and murky but not cold, and no rain. I haven’t made a crumble as I don’t have the ingredients but I’ll get round to it. I’m not used to baking these days.

Love the climbing frame. Grin

Oh LetUs I know what you mean about all the preparation falling on you. It’s always been the same here. DH erects the trees, hangs the cards up and chops the wood and looks after the fire and that’s it, I do the rest. I’ve had enough (I’ve cooked about 55 Christmas dinners Shock) and this year it’s going to be simplified as we’re going to the DC on both days.

Yay for new car Fancy but sad that your Dad has given up driving. Sad

Gosh Helen and WW, that’s very impressive with the decorations.

Love Grantchester.

Evening wenches.

Everything crossed that vet says ah right, can see the issue, easily sorted.

I think it’s because a lot of the stuff isn’t immediately visible Apricot? All that thinking and planning takes time and energy. About time you get chance to have at least some part of a rest over the Christmas season.

Work was quite tiring. Am considering bath’n’book.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/12/2024 21:33

Evening. Are we discussing Mental Load? Urgh.

IdiotKitty came barrelling in a while ago due to rain, and DS went out this evening (refusing to take a coat) and came back soaked. WobblyCat is busy sleeping on Dh and worrying him by twitching a lot.

Tomorrow I have a headless-chicken day of taxi-ing people about for appointments and college and work, and.... arghhhhhh. <breathes deeply>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/12/2024 05:50

Morning all. Daaaaaaaaaaaark, etc.

Hope everyone has a good day.

LetUsPrey · 03/12/2024 07:42

Morning wenches.

<clones Helen> that’d be nice wouldn’t it? Hopefully WobblyCat was dreaming and that’s why the twitching.

Also daaaaarrkkkk here. Giving blood after work. Hopefully they’ll take it as I doubt there’s any borderline anaemia anymore.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 03/12/2024 17:39

Afternoon. Nice day but cold. We’ve been doing a lot of tidying up in the garden as it’s the last garden bin collection tomorrow. Well, DH has been doing more than me. Hmm

Misty twitches in her sleep Helen. As LetUs says, I think she’s dreaming.

Hope the blood giving went well. I only did it once and they went right through my vein and I had a diamond shaped bruise all down my arm. They got about an eggcup full. Put me off, although I probably should have tried again.

LetUsPrey · 03/12/2024 20:05

Evening wenches.

My blood donating has been fairly sporadic over the years, first due to getting turned away because of low levels of iron or whatever, and then lately because just not getting round to booking an appointment. Anyway it was super busy which is good but it did mean I had a bit of a wait and I really needed the loo but they took their pint. And then they made me have crisps and biscuits afterwards, purely medicinal 😁

I’m sure they do our green bin collection all year round. So swanky!

Taking it easy for the rest of fhe evening.

FancyFancy · 03/12/2024 23:22

Evening

Glad the blood donating went well letus, I'm feeling guilty now as I haven't been since covid. Round here they used to have Tuc sandwich biscuits <drools>

You are more organised than me apricot - bin is practically full & I have 4 bags full of garden waste still sitting on the patio

Glad to hear WobblyCat seems happy in herself & hope the recovery continues.

One thing I'm not feeling bad about though is nearly being at my target for getting rid of one thing every day this year - only more 11 things to go & 3 of those are 'sorted' with ebay sales due to end soon & some furniture to go to my nephew Smile <feels organised> <ignores fact dishwasher is still broken>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/12/2024 23:42

Evening all. I have headless chickened all over the place today, and only dropped a couple of balls <nae> (DS' bus ticket had run out and I'd forgotten to renew it - which he discovered as the bus arrived Blush at which point I panic-bought another month's pass, even though he only has a couple of weeks college left before Christmas. Also, I was late picking him up. Oh well...) WobblyCat has a new vet appointment to decide on treatment going forwards, the dentist says that I need a filling, I probably need a tyre looked at as well, DH is in the wars with SportingInjury. I also had to panic buy fuel from an expensive garage because the light was on and I probably had 20 miles left in the tank was running on fumes.

Awesome decluttering Fancy - and a new car.

I haven't donated blood for years - they told me not to come back after they couldn't get into my teeny-tiny veins.

Now it's late and I must go to bed, with a hot water bottle, because it's coooooooold.
