Evening all. I was so busy in the garden that I forgot to hang out the washing until very late on. I'm sure you can imagine my levels of pissed-off-ness at that wasted drying opportunity.

It's rained here too since it got dark (and cold), but the garden hedge got a much needed lopping. That and cooking has been all I've really done - other than a killer sudoku. Rock'n'Roll, etc! (And Tesco, which was bafflingly busy for 3pm on Sunday.)

I shall stop now, since I'm boring myself!

Hope that Fancy is having a nice dinner out, and everyone has had a good weekend.

FancyFancy · 17/11/2024 22:23

Evening

Feeling a bit better thanks - nose is still tingly and energy levels are a bit up and down, but relieved to not be feeling like crap <accentuates the positive>

The lack of daylight is a pain for the photo taking isn't it apricot? I've been forcing myself to take photos whenever the light is good enough - even if I haven't decided whether to sell the thing or not Grin

Glad you are feeling lots better helen & I hope you haven't overdone things in the garden?

Have a lovely couple of days off leus

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/11/2024 07:36

Morning all. Cold out - we had a good crispy ground frost overnight, and the horizon is all orange and gold. It's also, unfortunately, made the windows a tiny bit steamed up, so I can see all the marks and smears (and little cat pow-prints) and on them. (Or it's not steamed up, it's just that there's actual light out there to see them against, as opposed to continuous cloud!)

Bonkers wench dream - I was on a ski holiday, and for some reason, was waiting to get boots fitted high up in a tower (think, an internal ramp spiraling up inside it, with no guard rail to stop you falling down the middle) and I was very freaked out, while other people where quite happily jumping across between levels. But fortunately my boot fitter was Pedro Pascal, who was simultaneously reassuring and professional, and flirty. then DH bloody woke me up muttering something. Inconsiderate. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/11/2024 07:37

Glad to hear that Fancy continues to improve, and every wench has a good day.

LetUsPrey · 18/11/2024 08:00

Morning wenches.

Pleased you’re improving Fancy <admires accentuations>

Sounds an alright day to me Helen. 😁 at that dream with bonus Pedro!

Flu jab this morning and then general pottering and hopefully knitting.

Have great days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 18/11/2024 16:14

Afternoon. Quite bright this morning, but it's been raining ever since.

Weird dream Helen. For some very strange reason I vaguely remember taking one of my earrings out in the night (I only usually take them out to clean them) and wondered this morning if I'd dreamed it, but no, there it was on the bedside table with the butterfly thingy attached. Hmm

Glad you're feeling better Fancy.

Hope the flu jab isn't too painful LetUs.

Evening. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm feeling at bit meh at the moment.

Isn't that the second dream with Pedro Pascal in it Helen? Grin

Hope you have a wonderful time off work Letus Smile

Glad you're both feeling better Fancy and Helen Smile

Evening wenches.

<passes 🍷 and 🍫 to Wicked>

When DS1 was a baby he had a dummy but I’d always take it out of his cot when I went to bed and put it on the drawers in his room. Some mornings I’d go in and there he’d be with either dummy in his mouth or it next to him. DH was working shifts at that time. No way DS1 could reach the drawers. Was completely baffled as I had no memory at all of getting up in the night and giving it to him, although I clearly had. Either that or he used the power of his mind to get it 👀

Arm’s quite sore. Poor me. Rest of the day has been quiet though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/11/2024 22:37

Evening all. It's cold and raining again here, but I've just watched the first Wolf Hall episode so all is good <happy sigh>.

Have I had two Pedro dreams Wicked? I don't remember Confused. Doing stuff in your sleep is always confusing - the whole 'Did I do that?' bafflement thing. I think I've done the earing removal as well - though some of mine are quite uncomfortable to sleep in so that would be the reason.

LetUsPrey · 19/11/2024 07:22

Morning wenches.

We have snow. Not much thankfully and it should go quickly.

Another day off, last one for a while. Will give DS2 a lift, then whizz through house jobs and the ironing and then it’s knitting and Wolf Hall. Watched the other two episodes of Ellis - it’s so good.

Have lovely days wenches.

FancyFancy · 19/11/2024 09:33

Morning. Would give you cwtches ww but am cold ridden, so probably best not. Feeling ok, just snotty and sneezy.

Also - snow. FFS. Just fuck off with it already <glares out of the window>

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/11/2024 10:32

We do not have snow. We have rain. Decidedly less scenic, but easier to drive in. I think that DS is feeling short-changed though.
<passes kleenex to Fancy>
<wraps Wicked in HBFs>
<passes knitting needles to LetUs>
<check's Apricot's earrings>
I ought to get on with work... cherchez le motivation, etc...

FancyFancy · 19/11/2024 10:55

Predictably Chonk is spooked by the snow, hasn't ventured outside yet. Floof looks disinclined to leave the house too, but that is not so unusual. Despite the thick coat he's not really the rugged outdoorsy sort.

ApricotCrush · 19/11/2024 16:31

Afternoon. Snow here too, some of it has gone but there's still a lot around. DH opened the curtains this morning for Misty to see it and she walked off. Hmm

Not much going on, I haven't ventured out.

Wine and Cake for wenches in need.

Evening wenches.

Hope you’re feeling better Wicked, and you’re getting less snotty Fancy.

Snow almost all gone I think. Can’t be arsed to look outside.

<passes snow to MiniHelen>

Have passed a pleasant day watching tv and knitting. Watched the second Dune film which, considering it’s about three hours long (tiny exaggeration), absolutely whizzed by. Also watched first part of She-Wolves: England’s Early Queens - not keen on women being in power back then. Clearly some places are still of the same mind.

FancyFancy · 19/11/2024 20:51

Clearly Misty feels as I do about snow, and it appears Floof feels the same - he's barely moved all day. Chonk has managed about 30 seconds outside, I've been working from home today so his entertainment has been limited to joining in with every phone call so far.

Glad you've had a restful day letus

I did manage to watch Testament of Youth last night. I did quite like it, but it's a long book and so the film had to be more focussed - plenty of striking visuals and full on with the romance, but I always felt there was far more in the book than just that. Mind you, that did mean I was less irritated with Vera - in the book she doesn't shy away from portraying her own privileged cluelessness!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/11/2024 21:24

Evening all. Still no snow here, just raaaaaaaaaaain, which IdiotKitty has been very unimpressed by. #StirCrazy. Today I feel like I've been very unproductive at work.

We have watched Airplane! this evening since DH has never seen it Shock and DS has only seen YouTube clips. There was much sniggering.

We still haven't seen the second Dune film, DH is talking about watching the prequel series on Sky though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/11/2024 07:11

Morning all. It's cold and dark, though not solid cloud outside. There is some sleet on the skylight.

I'm tiiiiiiiiired. <whinge>

Hope everyone wench has a good day and the roadworks chez LetUs are done?

LetUsPrey · 20/11/2024 07:34

Morning wenches.

Main roadworks are on until March with a break through part of December and early January. Then there are other occasional roadworks just scattered around every so often to keep everyone on their toes.

I’m with you and Chonk and Floof on the snow Fancy. Seems to be nearly gone here although the cars are iced over. Forecast says 13° on Sunday which is bonkers.

I think I’ve seen the Dune prequel trailed. I’ll watch out for that and record it.

Have great days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 20/11/2024 17:03

Afternoon. We had more snow overnight, probably more than the night before. It’s been a lovely sunny day but not enough to melt the snow.

I loved Airplane! We use lines from it on occasion, “don’t call me Shirley” being one of them. Grin. We’ve also watched She-Wolves. I feel our early Queens don’t get enough prominence, some of them I’d never heard of.

Aww at Chonk joining in with the phone calls.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/11/2024 18:08

Evening - we had proper snow today with large floaty flakes, but it melted again (phew). Snow is only good when you're got the right clothes on and are properly prepped. Then there was lightning out at sea on my way home.

Work was work-ish - lots of 'argh' at the system, as usual.

'Don't call me Shirley' is a classic Grin

LetUsPrey · 20/11/2024 20:01

Evening wenches.

Speaking of Airplane!, when we had the people in a few weeks ago about the new computer system, one of them was with me and NC and said “anything you want to know, just ask me, any questions”. So I said “what’s the world’s fastest land animal?” Funny right? Nothing. Grin

There was a good drama series on BBC Sounds about Eleanor of Aquitaine Apricot. Think it was two series. If it’s still available, I recommend it.

We’ve got sleet now. Bored of it already.

FancyFancy · 20/11/2024 20:08

Unacceptable of them letus Shock

Love 'and don't call me Shirley'
Also 'This woman has to be gotten to a hospital'
'A hospital? What is it?!'
'It's a big building with patients but that's not important right now'

LetUsPrey · 21/11/2024 07:34

Morning wenches.

Oh the “what is it” ones are some of my favourites Fancy 😁

We have a covering of icy sleet this morning. Fun.

Must start on those Christmas lists. Or I may just dress in green and call myself the grinch.

Have lovely days wenches.

LetUsPrey · 21/11/2024 07:40

That BBC Sounds programme about Eleanor of Aquitaine is called Eleanor Rising and there are three series not two. And it looks to still be available.
