Afternoon. Gloomy and cold here. We came home last night with a mountain of washing. I read somewhere, probably on here, that washing only dries on the line when the humidity is less than 80%, so I looked on the weather app and it was 94%, so the first load went in the tumbler.

Evening, Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark and cold and damp. Though not so damp that it stopped me entertaining myself with a blowtorch, burning off some seedheads It wasn't necessarily overly effective, but it was entertaining watching the fluff sizzle. (I know, I should have just puuled the weeds before they had a chance to flower and go to seed, but I'm just not efficient enough.) Also had to bury a chicken (nothing to do with my blowtorch) which pegged it after years of being on its last legs. Alas poor chicken - one less unproductive beak to feed though. And it wasn't a water-burial for once!

Theoretically I'm out at SportingActivity tonight, though I now how a horrible bunged up nose and feel fairly grotty, so we'll see.

Washing also seems to have a rule that you can go from barely having enough to make a full load to suddenly having enough for five in the blink of an eye.

Have had a quiet day - grocery shopping, got the car properly cleaned (can't remember the last time I did that) & some batch cooking. Now trying to will people to bet on my ebay items <attempts mind control>

I am absolutely full of the cough and stuffed up and feeling 100% sorry for myself. Today will be spent in the garden as much as possible, because my head feels much clearer in the fresh air. DD sent me some “oops I didn’t notice that” pics of themselves from a wedding they went to for photoshopping so I’ve been busy on that and didn’t get round to the washing pile. DS came round with his kids this afternoon.

Done sod all today, had to rest after yesterdays Murder Mystery Dinner with a group of total strangers. It was nice to meet new people but it was a bit disorganized and the food wasn't that great. Lucky me though that I got some leftovers today from nice landladies dinnerparty yesterday, pommes duchesse, bouef bourguignon and Dubai cheesecake 😋

Morning all. I have done a covid test and, yep.
Arse.
(The clue was last night's olbas oil, which I could barely smell without sticking it up my nose.) So I spent last night waking up every hour feeling hot and cold and drenched in sweat (lovely - not) and dreaming about trying to work with Covid. I think my subconscious was being a bit of a drama queen, since I'm not so bad that I can't sit and myopically prod the keyboard. Still. Woe, woe, woe, etc.

Now we have to wait and see who I've managed to infect, bearing in mind the horde was here yesterday and I was out with a friend on Saturday when I started feeling rough. At least Dad and DH have been jabbed.

Afternoon. Nice day, but it's cold. I've had one of those days where everything goes wrong and you want to go back to bed and start again, culminating in the car not starting, so I had to wait for DH to get home to go out and do jobs. All done now though.

Lovely landladies WW. It's not actually Photoshop, but a programme called Paint Shop Pro. I only do simple things with it, like removing stuff from photos that shouldn't be there, and changing backgrounds etc.

Oh Helen, what a nuisance. I haven't had the covid jab this year and wasn't going to bother, but perhaps I should if it's about again. Get better soon.

Have been working from home today - boiler was serviced & gardener was here for the pre-winter tidy up. My wallet is lighter but my garden looks good. No horrors with the service & got a slightly leaky tap fixed too - feel like I've adulted quite well today. Well, apart from the fact that all the chit chat & tea provisioning got in the way of work so I've had to log on again after dinner <sighs>

Morning. Spent yesterday in bed, so of course I didn't sleep especially well last night.

I just logged into work and shuffled a few emails about, then logged out again. Now I'm eating (because I ought to) and then going back to bed again where I shall prop myself up on pillows and feel sorry for myself. And hopefully doze off again. (But not too much because I want to sleep properly tonight.)
Covid - 0/5 - do not recommend. (I do recommend paracetamol and sinus tablets taken together though, they seem to have knocked out the headache and stuffed nose quite nicely.)
