Well I am here guys - I expect you are all out enjoying the fab sunshine spring is here today.
Gio dove 6 long time no hear from you ?

hotHELL · 31/03/2008 09:37

Ciao! Any news of Pippi? Her baby must have arrived, they said it would be early.
Glad you are feeling better Rosa, I still have quite bad fatigue, and would you believe it, the nausea is still there, mainly at night! I think though it is rare my feeling crap, maybe i am just too old to do this pregnancy business again. Ciao cali!

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 11:22

ciao! I can't find pippi' mobile number. Hope everything's fine with her and that she hasn't cured her mn addiction .

Hhell my nausea dragged on for a bit after 12 weeks. Only at night. Are you drinking lots of mint tea? I think it's quite helpful.

Didn't gio mention her parents coming to visit her? maybe she is chaperonning them through beautiful roma.

Rosa, have written down what you said about your dh . I'm sure he'll be helpful for the rest 28 weeks and beyond.

I'm knackered today as dd wet her bed this morning at 4 o'clock (first time ever!) and I couldn't get back to sleep until half an hour before the alarm clock went off. I now feel as if I've been to a rave party .

OP posts:
Rosa · 31/03/2008 12:33

I have gone off mint tea, boiled ginger in tea, ordnairy tea anything sweet in fact !
I don't eat after about 3pm .
Your poor dd I hope it was just a one off I remember when I did it when I was about 4 I was so embarrased ..amazing how things stick. Mum rekons it was as I was so tired I just diddn't wake up !
Glad to hear you are preparing for the next rave party Franca. DH just bought tickets to see the Police at the Heineken Jamming festival Euro 50!! I don't think it is appropriate that I should go but it is more my era than his I was madly in love with Stuart Copeland !!!!

Brangelina · 31/03/2008 12:48

So that's where you all are!

Rosa, I went off mint tea and all things ginger too. I still can't look at those Ikea ginger biscuits without feeling nauseaous, 3 years on. My solution for ms was to eat constantly, to keep my blood sugar up (apparently), which is probably why I put on 4kg in the 1st 12 weeks. Rice cakes, crackers, bread, grissini, schiaccatini, potatoes, that kind of thing. Nothing with any flavours as it would turn my stomach. Lots of formaggio stagionato too, oddly enough.

DP wants to see the Police too but I'm not fussed, I was never really that much into them the first time around anyway. Which one is Stuart Copeland? Is he the one with the longish face? Will you be going too or has your DH only bought 1 ticket?

Has Pippi had her baby yet do you think?

Am feeling pretty knackered myself atm, got half a sore throat and an impending earache. I think I'm just a bit run down, I also have a mouth ulcer. Maybe I need a purga or maybe some vitamins. I think I'll make a chick pea curry for tonight, lots of iron and possibly a purga all in one....

Rosa · 31/03/2008 13:09

Vit C Vit C I bet you diddn't clear the last cold you had completley either. I took Francas advice and was on Vit C and Zinc ( boots own make) and I had one slight cold this winter. I am not fussed about chick peas I think its the texture but I am ok with them in things. Like you suggestion on Rosti Am going to do that for dd tonight and put some fish in it I think she will love it ( that is if I can cope with the smell of cooking fish !)
I think you could be right about the eating but I find that some foods after I have eaten them leave me with a metal taste that is foul. ANything sweet. I had some of those chilli crackers in a bar the other day and I walked out with a handful !!!
Stuart Copeland was/ is the drummer.I would have liked to go as i was a real fan but its standing in a crowded area + bump I do not think is sensible!

Brangelina · 31/03/2008 13:19

No you're right, I never did totally get rid of the last cold, it just sort of evolved into other things and is now on the left hand side of my throat. I do need some vitamins but the choice here is pretty crap, I really miss Boots for stuff like that. I have eaten lots of salad this weekend so hopefully I'll start to pick myself up soon.

You are brave cooking fish, smells like that used to make me heave, but then I'm a non fish eater so probably smell it more.

You are wise not going to the concert, it'll probably be too hot as well. Either that or a temporale. I remember DP wanted to U2 concert around my due date, he even asked me if it would be feasible(it was standing room only). He saw the expression on my face and answered his own question.....

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 13:25

Rosa, gosh sounds really bad. I remember very bad ms esp with dd, but I could still face drinking mint tea and eating liquorice . How far gone in the pg will you be for the concert? Is it just a standing up sort of thing? I have to say (saddo alert!!!) that the older I get the least enthusiastic I feel about gigs and concerts. I hate it when they change the song (YES, I'M a SADDO!)

Yes, poor dd she was quite humiliated by the whole thing, she kept asking to go to the loo every two minutes (at 4 am ) so much so that I got worried she had cistite, so took her in bed with me to monitor. She fell asleep straight away. I didn't. she was really cheerful this morning. I told her that I once wet my sleeping bag when camping. I was 9 .
I'd love to go for a nap now!

Oh lord those plastic capsules that float in your mouth with the one make that is sold in all Farmacie.. Try Cerbion ( sp) mind you there are some yummy Sicilian oranges out at the moment probably better than vit suplements anyway so sweet I have 5 here if you want them can't face them either !!
mmm am going off the fresh fish idea went to get it out of freezer and have put it back in . Maybe cheese for dd later !

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 13:28

brangelina, I too have a dodgy feeling in the left hand side of my throat! and a runny nose. It must be this changing weather. dh is porbably going to exeter in may so we can order him vits and things from boots

OP posts:
Brangelina · 31/03/2008 14:10

Ooh, how big is his suitcase? Shall I email you my long list .
Actually, I might be in the UK in May as well, so will stock up then. Either that or my mum can bring some when she comes out next. I want to get some seeds for proper potatoes brought over and grow some on my balcony. DP insists they'll need too much soil, but I reckon a couple of plants in a big trough thing might work. Anybody know if it would be feasible? Mind you, the cats will probably try to poo in the pot (bleurgh at Gourmet flavoured potatoes).

Are Cebion the ones that you have to dissolve? I tried some like that but can't actually drink fizzy stuff without feeling a bit sick so DP used them up. I lurve oranges, we're having lots of spremute here, DD loves "oyanj chooss" with her Weetabix. Unfortunately DP bought some quite crappy oranges that are neither sweet nor juicy (trying to save money methinks) and it's making everyone go off drinking the stuff in the mornings.

Rosa · 31/03/2008 15:26

You can get them in chewy sweet kind things. I have g parents coming over in May and they have booked 2 cases with E jet this time rather than 1 in March so I have a licence to fill !!!!
Off out now as need air !

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 16:15

I'm actually contemplating the possibility of going to Exeter as well, as I'd love to see my friends there. And spend half a morning in boots. and topshop

OP posts:
Brangelina · 31/03/2008 16:39

I always spend far too much in Boots. Mostly on designer (as in John frieda or whoever) shampoos that will miraculously transform my hair into a sleek flowing mane without me having to do anything.

I think you should make that trip .

I really must go and get DD.

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 16:51

. I think I spent 2/3 of my 8 yrs in England in Boots. It was the most exciting shop in Exeter.
Yes, I put lots of faith in hair stylists' shampoos. I really liked charles worthington or something. I spent hrs reading gossip magazines for free. I lusted after benefit's pruducts.
Btw, sephora in via dante stocks john frieda, but haven't checked whether it's more expensive than in the uk. Bought a prime rughe own brand cream (sephora) for 16 euros!

DP has locked my bike to his and taken away the key, so he's now having to do nursery pick up. Ha!

That is an interesting fact about the John Frieda at Sephora, I might have to take a trip down there. I am also needing a new face cream but require lots of opinions before splashing out so will start a thread about it soon.

I must start cooking the mushrooms so when DP gets back it looks like I've been doing something. Good job I bought the ready sliced ones, it'll look like I've been slaving for hours.

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 17:14

hehehe .

At the moment I'm pretty pleased by my sephora daily cream, and 16 euros is quite a bargain...

should go and cook something as well. basically I'll cut lots of fennels and then I have some left overs...

OP posts:
Brangelina · 31/03/2008 17:16

Is it only anti wrinkle or is it face firming too? You see, I am now obsessed that my face is sliding downwards and need something tried and tested to hold everything in place.

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 17:46

I think that you might have to look into serums... which are bloody expensive. people also swear on sisley for over 30s skin, but I wasn't impressed when bought it once and it was probably the most expensive cream I have ever bought. I like clarins and read somewhere that they don't test on animals etc.

OP posts:
Brangelina · 31/03/2008 17:58

I like Clarins too, have always used it. However their Crème raffermissante for over 40s skin gave me spots as it was too heavy. And it didn't firm anything and was 60 euros or something for the day cream plus 60 euros for the night cream.

Sigh, I will have to use a serum, won't I?

francagoestohollywood · 31/03/2008 18:48

Well, a friend of mine was really impressed by the serum (can't remember which brand though) .

dd has had virtually nothing for dinner. complains of feeling sick... hope she is not going down with anything, not this week, I have a billion things to do. Poor little thing, she is already very thin, I hope she'll be all right.
