This thread has prompted me to consider more cushions so that DH and I don't have to fight. BUT, I really need new ones for the living room. So could save the two best from the living room and use those in the bedroom, as they are in a "co-ordinating colour".

My bedroom is all tidy apart from 3 large bags of children's clothes - one for my sister, one for my SIL and one for a friend. They are all to be delivered over the weekend but doing my head in. Oh and just one pile of photos/magazines etc that I really don't know what to do with.

COV I would really love to be you. Not your house, mine is good enough for me, but your tidy gene. Right now I should be cleaning the kitchen, and hoovering the living room, and sweeping and mopping the hard floors and loading the washing machine.... Just too easy to allow myself mins on here after I get the DC to bed that has already become 20 mins.

No to 1,2, 3 & 4. The is something about co-ordinated cushions and faux fur throws that looks like you have decorated entirely from the Argos catalogue.

What do you do with the cushions and throws anyway when you go to bed? Throw them on the floor? What's the point?

And fresh flowers and scented candles in a bedroom is too Mills and Boon for me. If I did that DP would then expect my skin to have a rosy, soft focus glow and me to dress in oyster satin negligees, and smile becomingly from under a lock of golden wavy hair.

1.Vases of flowers - a small one fairly often, yes
2.Scented candles - 'fraid so
3.Decorative cushions on the bed - no, not a useless cushion fan
4.A throw in a cooredinating colour over the centre or end of the bed. - oh dear. a fake furry one, yes

I don't like the image this conjures up

pointedegg · 18/03/2008 21:05

well, the throw is a faux fur blanket which is used for warmth. It's not useless

pointedegg · 18/03/2008 21:05

The best tongue twister I ever made up is

Four faux fur throws

Try it

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 18/03/2008 21:10

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 18/03/2008 21:11

Everyone who has seen my bedroom said it looks like something out of a mag but I would be a bit miffed if they said Argos

bozza · 18/03/2008 21:13

Ah but jajas I have sneaked off and done most of my list , only the hoovering to go. But I do need to pack up the steam cleaner which is spread across the dining room floor first. But I was thinking about COV when I moved the children's trainers rather than just mopping round them.

WelliesAndPyjamas · 18/03/2008 21:14

throw and cushions

pointedegg · 18/03/2008 21:15

Four faux fur throws

SAY IT, SAY IT

Swedes · 18/03/2008 23:26

chocpanut - post a pic of the room and we'll let you know whether it's Argos or Oka. Go on.

mumemma · 18/03/2008 23:35

None of these, does all sound a bit Linda Barker to me.

Mine has an artfully arranged mountain of washing to put away, several strategically placed pieces of Lego likely to cause maximum pain to bare feet, some raisins and numerous dust covered random miscellaneous items on DH's bedside table - keys, tissues, credit cards, business cards and other detritus which men always seem to accumulate.

SoMuchToBits · 18/03/2008 23:49

None.

There are a couple of candles in the room (not scented, and never get lit, but they fill the candleholders!)

There is a 46 year old decorative teddy bear on the bedside table (complete with darned patches). Does this count?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 19/03/2008 19:26

swedes

I will do after I have moved baby out into his own room this weekend as at the moment it looks a creche!!

mylittlepudding · 19/03/2008 19:30

3 and 4 pre-DP - not even pre-children. He used to say "what is the point" a bit too often. I caved. Just a lot of mess things waiting to be put away these days...

llareggub · 19/03/2008 19:39

Anything that lives in my bedroom gets thrown downstairs by my DS. I've given up having anything on our bed at all.

Sparkletastic · 19/03/2008 19:44

No

Large Vibrator and complete works of Nancy Friday - check

[lowering the tone and over-sharing in one fell swoop]

zippitippitoes · 19/03/2008 19:46

none lol

i do have a vibrator tho in fact two one is a bit crap

i have a tv and lots of music and my laptop

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 19:50

I don't have any of those but I do have four duvets on my bed! I have no where else to store them and they do keep me warm at night, and it saves having to fight for the duvet with DS when he decides to join me in my bed.

LaDiDaDi · 19/03/2008 19:53

Did have 3 and 4 in old flat but moved house and haven't found any to match. Even if I did find some they would probably spend all week on the bedroom floor only actually going on the bed on Moday when the cleaner comes.

OverMyDeadBody · 19/03/2008 19:55

am at zippi's two vibrators!

Quattrocento · 19/03/2008 19:57

All of the above

The scented candles are DH's contribution - I farking well loathe vanilla scented candles even if they are fiendishly expensive

zippitippitoes · 19/03/2008 19:58

my bedroom is a tip actually my bed has loads of stuff on it clothes and books and files and speakers and make up i must sleep very still cos it never falls off
