Hope you all find me.

No but it's a good kick-start. Do you feel any slimmer?

I don't feel half as excited as I should to be honest. The problem is that during the last 2 years of low carbing I got down to about 12 stone. Until I get down to that again I just feel I'm losing what I've already lost once before.
I'll start feeling over the moon when I can get below 12 stone.

And, no. Alcohol isn't a good idea (I'm sure at some point I'll weaken and be able to back this up with experiential anecdotes ).
The diet is a very low calorie one and I'm totalling just over 400 cals a day so I don't think alcohol on an essentially empty stomach is wise. Especially not after my run in with the antibiotic .

oggsfrog · 15/05/2008 21:25

Gawd. I'm not exactly full of joy am I?
I'll take myself off, and go and sulk in bed with my dust flavoured hot choc and mint .

LyraSilvertongue · 15/05/2008 21:37

Dust flavoured? You're really selling this diet to me

Morning all.
Is your Mum feeling any better today Binkle?

Oggs. I bet you will start to feel good when you start feeling thinner even before the 12 stone.
I always give up when I've lost a stone because I feel so good!

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 09:29

Hi Berrie, she had a better night apparently but still not been allowed to eat anything - hopefully the chemo will have cleared her system by weekend and she'll come out on Monday.

Oggs, I'm back on CD as of this morning as I'm feeling a bit better able to cope - yesterday all I wanted was a meatball sandwich from Subway - so I had two and thoroughly enjoyed them and slept like a log afterwards

oggsfrog · 16/05/2008 09:32

Mmmmmm....

Zebedeedoodah · 16/05/2008 09:36

Hi Binkle, you sound a bit brighter this morning, so well done you. I've totally fallen off any and all wagons this week, but will try to get back on again soon.

Berrie, I think I can guess your rural-based fantasies. Going and watch Cold Comfort Farm - that should help you along, particularly Rufus Sewell,

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 09:37

Oops, Sorry Oggs

It was crap honest

GreatAuntAdaDoom · 16/05/2008 09:44

I saw something nasty in the woodshed...

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 09:45

What was it?

GreatAuntAdaDoom · 16/05/2008 09:45

There have alwys been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm...

Zebedeedoodah · 16/05/2008 09:47

We never did find out. But it was nasty.

Zebedeedoodah · 16/05/2008 09:47

And it was in the woodshed.

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 09:48

Talk to me about chickens please. I'm thinking of getting two ex-battery (you lot have inspired me )

GreatAuntAdaDoom · 16/05/2008 09:52

God I love that book. Did you see the adaptation on tv years and years ago?

GreatAuntAdaDoom · 16/05/2008 09:54

OOh Binkle, how exciting . When are you getting them? Where will you be keeping them?

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 09:55

I dont know - but they would be in the back garden, I'm assuming, given their current circumstances they dont need a big field to wander in - they would have free-range of the garden though, along with the rabbit - they wouldnt go for the rabbit would they?

The only bit I'm concerned with is how scraggy they will look when I first get them - I think that might break my heart.

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 09:56

this thread is about to expire btw - what shall we call the next one?

Zebedeedoodah · 16/05/2008 09:58

Binkle. You can have mine. When I abandon home & hearth someone's got to look after them!

And yes, GAAD, I got the dvd out a couple of months ago to watch it again. It's still brilliant and funny and well worth seeing. I've never read the book though.

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 09:59

So you're really going to do it then Zeb?

oggsfrog · 16/05/2008 10:00

The chickens will probably mistake the rabbit for a rock like I did

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 10:01

lol yes, true, he's quite safe as long as he doesnt make any sudden movements

binkleandflip · 16/05/2008 10:02

So can we call the new thread the K Club (in honour of our low-carbing??)

oggsfrog · 16/05/2008 10:03

I'm just buying the dvd on Amazon. You should read the book it's brilliant.
