Hope you all find me.

To answer your question, I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting for my contact there to get back to me, but yes, essentially this does feel like the way forward. But I'm dreading 'the conversation', which is why this may take some time. Particularly as builders, plumbers etc are starting again next week to make the house habitable. I know it feels right, I just also feel so awful about it.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 12:57

Hi Zeb, sorry I've been away overnight on a training thing. Which other thread did you mean?

Sorry you're going through all this, it is awful to contemplate when you've got all this history together - there is a theory that that is why it can be so hard to leave a marriage - because you feel it is a waste of your investment so far However, you have the rest of your life to live and need to live it happily. You know we are all here to listen anyway

Oggs, are you sure CD is agreeing with you? Just wondering as Nursejo had said on the other thread about her dh having blood too? In truth I have been off it since Saturday, although I havent eaten a great deal - not been hungry but I will start again tomorrow.

Zebedeedoodah · 13/05/2008 13:20

Thanks Binkle. I can't remember exactly which thread title, but basically another MNer debating the state of her own marriage. It was over the w/e I think.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 13:23

oh yes, once about her dh being an miserable old git? Yes, I had words with dh about his attitude - he used to be quite fun and easy going but now he is pretty uptight, with the weight of the world on his shoulders (or so you would think) makes him rude and impatient particularly with dd - apparently its due to his high pressure job which has robbed him of most of his hair and has started work on his personality

I told him he better sort it out and start putting a bit more effort into making good and happy childhood memories of daughter/daddy time for dd or he's down the road

Zebedeedoodah · 13/05/2008 13:37

That's the one. Oh, and that she couldn't bear to be with someone getting old and fat and losing his hair and therefore no longer phyiscally attractive.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 13:39

ahem...yes...well, I refer you to my earlier account of spending Saturday afternoon with the (young, fit and handsome) personal trainers in the pub lol. Oh yes, dh was there as well

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 13:41

but in truth, personality has an awful lot to do with attraction. ie if he behaved better I no doubt would find him more attractive, I mean he's not shrek or anything...

oggsfrog · 13/05/2008 13:45

But isn't it a bit shallow being dissapointed when your OH begins to show signs of age? Don't we criticise men for going out and snagging a younger model when their wife begins to visibly age?
Don't you have to accept that you are not going to feel the same attraction/lust 10, 20 years down the line?

oggsfrog · 13/05/2008 13:45

Sorry Binkle, it took me so long to post that you'd already got in there .

oggsfrog · 13/05/2008 13:46

I find Shrek strangely attractive

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 13:46

yes, agree. Like I say, I think for women a lot of the attraction is with the personality ie we will be happy with a sows ear not a silk purse as long as the sows ear is being nice and not throwing his weight about like his brad pitt and were lucky to have him .. or sommat ...

How you getting on Oggs?

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 13:47

I actually like his voice , but then I find Mike Myers strangely attractive too....

oggsfrog · 13/05/2008 13:49

Feeling very tired and weedy today. Just had a Leek and Potato soup.... bleurgh. Don't like any of the soups yet.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 13:50

no the soups are pretty hideous!!

I need to get back on, not drunk very much water at all since Saturday and my belly has gone all bloated and floppy again (despite consuming minimal food!! )

oggsfrog · 13/05/2008 13:52

It's possibly the most boring diet in the world. I think though, that it's very blandness is helping me stick to it. I can treat the packs simply as fuel, and know that my body is getting all the nutrition it needs.
Very, very bored with it, but determind to drop 4 stone.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 13:54

It has honestly done wonders at dropping my hunger - like I say I havent had a shake/bar since saturday, but also I havent really ate very much either - my body has quickly got used to not needing or craving very much at all which is a good thing because its knocked my greediness on the head (I hope)

oggsfrog · 13/05/2008 13:57

I know what you mean. My stomach has shrunk so much that the soup I just had left me feeling bloated and lethargic.
I'm hoping that more than anything this will leave me with a better relationship with food. The sheer quantity I used to be able to devour seems unbelievable now.

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 14:00

the upsetting thing is that if my actual stomach is now only the size of say a scampi fries bag ( ) whats all the this extra blubbery bit on top for then and what am I sposed to do with that ??

Zebedeedoodah · 13/05/2008 15:00

The blubbery bit on top. Hmmm, Zeb thinks..... I've got one of those too. Maybe if we joined them all together we could make a bouncy castle? Actually, mine's a bouncy castle without any further help.
Just had lunch with my boss to explain why I'm a bit loopy right now. She was really sweet and supportive, and it felt really good to just 'say it'. We then stopped at one of the letting agents on the way home to pick up their list. (Research so far, don't worry...I'm not being that precipitate)

binkleandflip · 13/05/2008 15:26

Zeb, have a virtual huggle from me

Where's Berrie and Lyra then?

Zebedeedoodah · 13/05/2008 15:39

Cheers - just stretch those arms a bit around the bouncy castle.

Maybe everyone else is off getting the sun.

BottlebinBerrie · 13/05/2008 15:51

Here I am!
Anything nice on the details Zeb?

I don't know Oggs and Binkle, you need to embrace your inner bouncy castle that's what I say. Bouncy Castle and proud!

Zebedeedoodah · 13/05/2008 16:32

BoingBoing. Zebedee. Bouncy castles. There's a theme....

And the details aren't that great, but at least give me something to start looking at. There are a few agents around, so I just need to do a bit of looking.

I guess I now need to figure out how to tell my parents in order to squeeze money for deposits and rent out of them. Obviously, they'll be jumping up and down with joy and more than happy to hand over the readies. I'll wait until I'm organised though.

LyraSilvertongue · 13/05/2008 19:00

Do your parents not like dh then Zeb?
