Hope you all find me.

Oggs, you really should remember to pay the phone bill!

binkleandflip · 14/03/2008 09:29

How is your woolly pig doing Oggs? the ears are fraying on mine from persistent fingering - it is my 'worry' woolly pig

Berrie · 14/03/2008 11:31

Tee hee...was confused...thought, i didn't know Oggs kept pigs...then realised what you meant!

oggsfrog · 15/03/2008 08:19

Woolly pig not frayed as yet, but is looking distinctly grubby behind ears . How are the shoes Binkle?

You know I was actually quite relieved when the phone line went down. There are load of things I should be doing but without the computer I couldn't get on and it was like a weight lifting off me.

Dh has gone off to a horse sale in Carlisle today. He has a horsebox and cash (dangerous combination ), so I think it's highly likely that we will have another mouth to feed when he returns.

Berrie, hope you're all recovered now.

LyraSilvertongue · 15/03/2008 14:18

What's all this talk of wooly pigs????

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 15/03/2008 14:37

The shoes, I am gutted to say, were maimed beyond repair in Florida I lost a couple of baubles to the scrum of the 'Disney magic' parade when dd stood on my foot and without the baubles, well, they had lost all their panache Have ordered replacements as a) they were very comfy and b) everybody kept complimenting me on them and asking where they were from thus elevating me to 'style-guru' status oh yes!!

LyraSilvertongue · 15/03/2008 16:31

Baubly shoes? What have I missed?

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 15/03/2008 16:38

Oh we had a right old time the next morning Lyra, you missed it all!!

Only kidding, the shoes I brought were soooo comfy throughout tea/theatre/bar but the next morning - well, it felt like my toes had been plaited so when we went to Covent Garden for a nose I bought some flat ones from Accessorize. They were a bit spangly and out there but I figured hey, when in London, be daring etc but feared they would just be too 'fashion-forward' for Blackpool However, my worry was unfounded - they went down a storm.

As for the pig it's a little woolly one on a keyring I got when paying for the shoes and Oggs was very so she bought one too.

Oh the excitement of it all...

LyraSilvertongue · 15/03/2008 17:40

Ah, now I see. I thought you were all going mad.
I was at Maxwells cocktail bar again last night with a friend.
I also spent 2 hours in A&E with DS2 yesterday because he'd started vomiting and I rang NHS direct. They said because he'd had a head injury a couple of days before (the lamppost incident) I needed to take him straight to hospital to get checked over. Doc said he was ok though so two hours of our time wasted.

oggsfrog · 16/03/2008 14:45

Aw, poor LittleSilvertongue. Glad he's ok.

Dh arrived sans pony last night, but will be hoping for better luck next auction.

I had a journey to hell and back trying to get the kittens to the vet on Fri. I'd kept them in all night without food (cue absolute chaos with cushions on floor, things knocked over, dog terrorised).
Dh only went and left the bloody front door open in the morning , so I had to catch them again. Managed to get cat1 back in and was struggling to get cat2 in without letting cat1 one out again , when dh comes gallumphing back down the path scaring cat2 to death, thereby leaving me looking like I'd gone head to head with Freddy Kreuger Oooowwwwwwww! and dropping cat2 in process.
Finally got both boxed and set off intending to drop dd at school on way. Cat 2 meanwhile has chewed hole in side of box. Push him back in and duck tape cardboard over hole. Mile away from school cat1 makes succesful bid for freedom. Stop car, catch cat (sustaining more scratches), parcel her up with duck tape.
Anyway it took me over an hour to get to the vets. Each cat escaped 3 times in total. Last escape by cat2 coincided with inability to tape up box due to lack of duck tape/cardboard/any solid box to restrain him in. We spent the last 10 mins with me driving one handed whilst trying to keep him from getting under my feet.
Was shaking by time I got there, and cost me £60 for the experience .

LyraSilvertongue · 16/03/2008 20:23

Oh dear Oggs, that sounds like a comedy sketch! Although I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time. I've got all this to come, what with getting a kitten/cat next month.

Berrie · 17/03/2008 07:45

Oh dear Oggs...not a restful day then!

I'm down your way this week Lyra. I need to get to the DCFS from Richmond for 9.15 on Thursday morning. When would you leave?

oggsfrog · 17/03/2008 08:43

What's the DCFS? Dedicated Celebrated Followers of Scientology? Decidedly Chic Farmhouse for Slimmers?

Berrie · 17/03/2008 08:47

Tee hee, Department For Children...er something and Families....er.....Schools!
I'm representing Leicestershire as a tutor at a meeting. We're staying with my brother over Easter.
Nearest Tube, Westminster BTW Lyra.

Zebedeedoodah · 17/03/2008 09:19

Happy Monday. It sounds like a fun weekend was had by all . Still, the sun's shining and it's a short week.

Berrie · 17/03/2008 09:22

Happy Monday to you too!
I didn't enjoy Swordfish much I don't think my swoonometer is really switched on properly...

Zebedeedoodah · 17/03/2008 09:27

Ooh! I watched it on Friday. Yes, not exactly swoonable, but at least we got the gratuitous golfing bit at the beginning, not to mention a bit of groping later! I thought it was all right though...not the best movie I've seen, but certainly not the worst.
So, which one do we watch next?!

LyraSilvertongue · 17/03/2008 09:28

Hello!
Ok, get the District Line tube from Richmond. Prob best to allow at least 45 minutes for the journey, or an hour if you're really worried about being late. Come out of Westminster tube. Walk towards Westminster Abbey. Take the first left after the Abbey and the DCSF is on that road.

Berrie · 17/03/2008 10:27

Thanks Lyra. I can imagine where it is now which is great! I think I'm more worried about getting there than the meeting itself which is not a good thing as I need to prepare!

oggsfrog · 17/03/2008 10:41

Tsk. Swordfish is brilliant. I ordered Paperback Hero in Feb but it's not come yet. Was supposedly posted to me on 6th March .

Zebedeedoodah · 17/03/2008 11:28

Brilliant? I wouldn't go quite that far! I'm waiting for Animal Attraction to turn up, but I'm not expecting great things from it.

binkleandflip · 17/03/2008 15:10

I am having such a tremendous day that I HAVE to share!!!

Firstly, went to post office, stood in line, waving car tax renewal form around, waiting for someone to notice (no-one did, however...) got to counter - "£15 pounds you say? For the year? How very reasonable!!" says I, extremely loudly - the joys of owning a Prius! I then saunter smugly past the line with my bargain tax disc, admiring and envious looks falling all about me

Then, dh phones to tell me the vendor has accepted our offer for the salon - I am officially almost a business-woman! And £10,000 less than the asking price!

Zebedeedoodah · 17/03/2008 15:28

Congratulations Binkle, that's brilliant news on the salon. As for the Prius. Pah! I'll stick to my gas guzzling series II land rover and the big audi for a while longer.

Zebedeedoodah · 17/03/2008 15:30

Zeb's made a boo-boo. I ordered Animal Attraction from Amazon, and for reasons that escape me, I appear to have bought 2 copies. Sooo, does anyone want to take it off my hands or shall I just return it? Or shall I watch my copy tonight and let you know if it's actually worth owning? It was under a fiver, so I'm not too fussed.

oggsfrog · 17/03/2008 16:59

Under a fiver you say? Ah bugg'rit, go on then . Let me know how much I owe you inc postage and how you want paying, Paypal, cheque, cash...
