Can't stand him Lyra.

BottlebinBerrie · 14/05/2008 13:46

Oh go on, tell us more Zeb!

oggsfrog · 15/05/2008 07:29

Morning .
Weigh day today. I'll let you know how I get on.
Working on festi this morning, then shopping this afernoon before picking up dd and her friend from school. What an exciting life I lead .

binkleandflip · 15/05/2008 08:20

Good luck Oggs!!

Should be my weigh in this week too but I havent used any shakes - or eaten very much at all since Tuesday afternoon because my mum has been taken into hospital and I am worried sick.

BottlebinBerrie · 15/05/2008 09:06

Sorry to hear that Binkle
Thinking of you. Keep in touch. x

binkleandflip · 15/05/2008 09:50

thanks Berrie.

She was taken in on tuesday morning during her regular chemo appointment, although I didnt find out until late tues afternoon.

She has had lots of scans and her organs are all working ok and not affected but she has crippling stomach pain and is coughing up awful brown stuff Despite this, the dr thinks it has been caused solely by a change of chemo (from tablets to intravenous) - far too potent for her - and as she hasnt eaten since Saturday - all the drugs have damaged her stomach lining.

Glad that it hasnt spread to other organs but seeing her in such distress and afraid was awful Trying to be brave but I feel like I just want to curl up in bed, MN and not face outside - terrified of phone ringing,

LyraSilvertongue · 15/05/2008 10:28

Binkle. Keep us up to date with how she is.

thanks, its nice to have MN friends that you can be honest with - you know about feeling a bit pathetic and scared about stuff - thanks again

Zebedeedoodah · 15/05/2008 12:13

Much love Binkle. You know we're all here for you and you can say whatever you like. It's awful for you, and of course you feel worried and scared. That's not pathetic at all.

Zebedeedoodah · 15/05/2008 14:56

And to cheer us up, a bit of property porn. This is what I'll buy when I get some money, or this, when I don't get as much as I'd like.

BottlebinBerrie · 15/05/2008 16:00

Coo, yes please! I like the second one for the garden but not sure it's a fair swap for that kitchen.

Zebedeedoodah · 15/05/2008 16:18

Well being a bit Good-Lifed out, I'm more than happy to have the enormous kitchen and postage stamp-sized, undemanding, paved garden.

LyraSilvertongue · 15/05/2008 18:35

I like them both. The first's one's got real kerb appeal and a lovely kitchen. Looks all cosy and warm

Oh Binkle sweetie, you must be in pieces. So sorry for you and your poor mum .
Hope they manage to adjust the regime and make her more comfortable. Are you able to be at the hospital as much as you'd like?

Bloody hell Zeb . The first would be great 'cos you could put us up in your basement , and we could always camp in the garden of the second one .

binkleandflip · 15/05/2008 20:36

Thanks Oggs, they will have to change the chemo - she clearly cant tolerate it in intravenous form.

She was a bit brighter today, still not allowed to eat as yet tho.

How did weigh-in go then???

oggsfrog · 15/05/2008 20:51

9lbs down . Actually was pretty peeved 'cos I weighed myself at home and had myself as 3lbs lighter than the cdc's scales did .

LyraSilvertongue · 15/05/2008 20:56

Binkle, glad your mum's improving
Oggs, 9lbs! That's fantastic. Maybe I'll have to give it a try after all.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 15/05/2008 20:58

Your scales will be right

Well Done, you've done amazing!!

oggsfrog · 15/05/2008 20:59

It's bloody boring Lyra . Not a single morsel of food has passed my lips for 8 days now, and won't be doing so for the foreseeable future .
9lbs down, but 41lbs still to go

oggsfrog · 15/05/2008 21:00

Thanks . It is a very odd thing to be doing.

LyraSilvertongue · 15/05/2008 21:01

Yes, but worth it to lose 9lb in a week. Can you drink?

OP posts:
oggsfrog · 15/05/2008 21:12

Only water (at least 4 pints a day) or black tea/coffee. Haven't had an alcoholic drink for nearly a fornight.

A bit less appealing now Lyra?

oggsfrog · 15/05/2008 21:14

I've got to gear myself up to the fact that the initial loss is always greatest as it is mainly fluid.
I don' expect to be losing that much every week. Unfortunately

LyraSilvertongue · 15/05/2008 21:14

Ok, no wine. What about spirits? [hopeful emoticon]

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 15/05/2008 21:15

No but it's a good kick-start. Do you feel any slimmer?
