Hope you all find me.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 18/03/2008 22:29

Perhaps it says something about me that the general consensus round of my family is 'fantastic binkle, how long til you're bored of it and want to go back to having coffee with your mates of an afternoon instead of working??'

Well I'LL SHOW THEM (hopefully )

I'm totally new to the business world in this respect I guess, never owned and ran a business before - I hope I love it!

La Gavroche - even the name sounds tasty!!

LyraSilvertongue · 18/03/2008 22:31

It's going to be a big adventure. I want to run my own business but not sure what. I thought about opening a soft play as they're a licence to print money round here but I have zero business experience, which puts me off.

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 18/03/2008 22:57

Oh soft play is a great idea.

It's just scary taking the plunge isnt it but I guess we'll never know unless we give it a go.

I'm lucky that dh is financially savvy (as I am anything but) - I have been getting quite excited about what colour towels and tunics to get and he says that whilst that IS important, I probably need to focus on the moment on the more trivial stuff such as, say, getting a business bank account, sorting my public liability insurance etc...he's a killjoy

oggsfrog · 19/03/2008 07:24

Another new dress Lyra . Tsk. I'm sure Gordy won't mind what you wear. I envy you the posh nosh (wasn't the little lad in Les Mis called Gavroche?) but not the rest. I'd rather be curled up with a good book .
Has ds been okay since his tumble?

Binkle I'm very impressed at your 'get up and go', I'm sure you'll make a huge succes of it .

Berrie · 19/03/2008 08:49

Wow it's all been going on since I last popped in!
I think the next meet up should be at Binkle's Empire I'll look out for you and DP getting into a Limo, flanked by burley men in suits and shades, from a house that's for sale as I drive to my brother's tonight Lyra!
I've got soooooooooooo much to do today. I think that it's the simnel cake that won't get done and dd will have to wear her brother's old shoes for one more weekend!

Zebedeedoodah · 19/03/2008 09:05

Get you Binkle! Hydraulic stools eh?! I think you'll be brilliant so ignore those naysayers who think you're going to cave and go back to being a lady of leisure.
Given my job is to encourage people with business plans and so on, I offer you all the encouragement you need! Ditto Lyra - if you want to do it, just do it (but make sure you have a business plan first
Me, I tried it, but I prefer being a wage slave. Maybe I'll have another go down the line, but not for the moment.

Lyra - you'd better give us a run-down of your night out later, I want all the details including menu, and how truly awful Naomi Campbell is in RL. Just don't let her hit you with any phones

oggsfrog · 19/03/2008 09:37

Zeb, I'll try and do the Paypal thing later. Thanks.

Zebedeedoodah · 19/03/2008 10:00

Did it arrive?

TheRealMrsAnthonyKiedis · 19/03/2008 12:26

I'm hoping to avoid speaking to Naomi. I've never been a fan or hers.

TheRealMrsAnthonyKiedis · 19/03/2008 12:27

Oops. Forgot to name change.

LyraSilvertongue · 19/03/2008 12:28

That's better.

AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Just had a really unpleasant set to with preschool owner about ds and nut allergy. She'd come over all defensive because yesterday I pointed out that the crunchy nut cornflake packet he'd made his model with was not safe ( not in a nasty way, but just for future reference way) I won't go into boring details but although we are ok about the nut allergy on the surface, it's quite a sensitive issue underneath and requires a senstitive approach. I don't need telling that I keep 'shifting the goalposts,' or even rubbish like Kellogs telling her that there are the same amount of peanuts in Rice Crispies as there are in Crunchy Nut cornflakes. She told me she'd been looking into it all afternoon which was not her job but mine....sigh...getting cross again now.It was not the things that we had to sort out but the way that she went about it...

Berrie · 19/03/2008 13:05

And I really don't have time for this....we are supposed to be setting off at 3 ha ha ha (Berrie cackles mirthlessly)

Zebedeedoodah · 19/03/2008 13:10

Big hug Berrie. Shall I go and thump the bint for you?

I love these 'oh-so-sensitive' types who work with children. They just make you feel so warm and fuzzy. So no Easter eggs for her tomorrow I hope!

I've got Paperback Hero turning up from the dvd club next, I just hope it arrives home before DH does

Berrie · 19/03/2008 14:09

Thanks Zeb and yes please to the thump.

Zebedeedoodah · 19/03/2008 14:52

BIFF!!!! KERPOWWWW!!!!!

That wiped the grin off her face.

LyraSilvertongue · 19/03/2008 15:14

Groan. I'm coming down with the lurgy. The last thing I feel like doing is going out. Off to buy some Day Nurse...

OP posts:
Berrie · 19/03/2008 15:16

Tee hee Zeb...that's made me feel surprisingly better...everyone else just made excuses for her!

Poor Lyra

Bye everyone, off to London now!

oggsfrog · 19/03/2008 16:47

Have a good time Berrie . Bugger I've probably missed her.
Yes Zeb, got it this afternoon. Thanks. I really will do the paypal later when I get a chance. Honest . Looks like you'll be seeing Paperback Hero before me . It's still not arrived. The vendor said they'd posted it 1st class on 6th March, but that they couldn't chase it with the PO until 14 working days after that date. Pfffffff.
Poor Lyra. We've all got the lurgy here too and dd has got conjunctivitis too.
I feel rough, but in a wanting food kind of way unfortunately.

LyraSilvertongue · 19/03/2008 16:48

Have a good time Berrie

OP posts:
Zebedeedoodah · 19/03/2008 17:04

Yep, have a good time Berrie, if you're still around.

Oggs, I'm sorry about the pox-ridden household you have, but I hope the movie helps. Are you going to shove them all off to bed early then snuggle on the sofa for some gratuitous romcom watching?

And I'd rather you paid before you watched it - I don't want you demanding your money back!!!

LyraSilvertongue · 20/03/2008 00:31

Tee hee. I not only got to meet the king of daytime TV, Matthew Wright, but I got to run my fingers through his hair!
I watch his show, The Wright Stuff, every morning if I'm in (while doing kitchen chores of course).
I got (Mirror columnist) Kevin Maguire to introduce us. Somehow the talk turned to hair and I asked if his was real. He said 'feel it' so I ran my fingers though it! .
Ah, I'm very happy. He's so smiley and energetic in real life, like an energetic puppy. And much camper too, but I'm sure entirely straight. He was there with his pretty blonde girlfriend.
I also met Patrick Trueman from EastEnders. Naomi, sadly couldn't make it . Gord was there and did a speech.
DP took me here afterwards for dinner.
A good night, I'd say.
Night

OP posts:
binkleandflip · 20/03/2008 08:41

Oh no you dont missus!! I bagged Matthew Wright remember???!

How was his hair then? really clean I bet..!!

Zebedeedoodah · 20/03/2008 08:45

Get you Lyra. Matthew Wright eh! Did you try to run your fingers through Gordo's hair too?!

I've never been to Pont de la Tour, but my big bruv goes there quite a bit, and he's a fussy git so it's probably brilliant [jealous emoticon]

Zebedeedoodah · 20/03/2008 12:07

Was it something I said? Where've you all gone?
