Hope you all find me.

Partly but I hated the tiled floor. The tiles kept breaking and shifting. So if we end up staying I won't have to put up with that bloody floor anymore.

Lyra, stop showing off. Just because you have a floor

Saturday's weekend section, Berrie. It's an article by wotsername Weinberg. Just search on Bunbury!

Hmm, I had a disturbing dream about John Barrowman last night. It just serves me right for having an early night after watching Torchwood.

LyraSilvertongue · 26/03/2008 10:43

Why are workmen so uncommunicative? And why don't they flush the loo after they've used it?

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 26/03/2008 10:45

It's nearly done now and I have to say the tiles did look nicer. But they were so impractical.

We need more emoticons. A mild irritation emoticon would've done nicely after my workman post. And why don't we have a scared or feeling ill emoticon?

Zeb, if you have no floors, what do you have? Surely you don't just hop from joist to joist, trying not to fall through the gaps?

Lyra, we've already established that I float around like an angel . Nah, actually it's just cement.

I'll also send DH round to deal with your workmen for you. Given the crap we've had to put up with from them, he'll be like a rotweiller for you.

binkleandflip · 27/03/2008 08:45

Morning all, I just flew in from NY this morning - we went on Saturday just us two and just got back. Think I mentioned I was going but dreading it because I hate flying but actually it wasnt too bad although I looked out of the window in the dark and to my fright saw another plane in the not too distant erm distance and when its red light flashed (as they do) I could actually see the outline of the windows - thats how close it was . So I shut the blind, had another wine and hoped for the best!!

Anyway, the trip was great, we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria which was amazing (and not that expensive, especially at the moment) just really beautiful and atmospheric. Walked lots, my feet are basically just a cast of my boots now

Hope you all had a lovely Easter too

Zebedeedoodah · 27/03/2008 08:51

Hey Binkle, welcome home I hope you did lots of shopping too and ate gorgeous food? I love NY, but I don't think I could live there.

How was immigration - was it all really worth the hassle? Apart from not currently having a passport, the prospect of being treated like a piece of meat by those guys really doesn't convince me.

binkleandflip · 27/03/2008 08:54

I was shocked and amazed Zeb - we sailed through immigration We were actually first off the plane and only had hand baggage (on the way there) and it was great, no queues, just straight through and into a taxi in the space of five minutes!!

I was anticipating an horrendous experience akin to being processed into guatanamo bay (because that is how you are made to feel, right?) but no, they were lovely and it was all hassle-free.

Zebedeedoodah · 27/03/2008 09:06

That's good.

oggsfrog · 27/03/2008 11:06

Welcome back Binks - wondered where you'd got to What happened with doggy. Is she okay now?

binkleandflip · 27/03/2008 12:27

she's doing pretty well thanks
MIL took her for her stitches out yesterday (apparently it took three to pin her down!!) and she is still hobbling along and hopefully it is all mending nicely inside. I'm on the phone to the insurers now, hoping that they have received and are going to honour the claim - its rather dear if not

Berrie · 27/03/2008 13:07

Oooo you jet setter you!

binkleandflip · 27/03/2008 13:46

Well you know how I hate flying so I dont think I could really get into being a real jet-setter type to be honest, but it was a good weekend but all the better for being home with dd and the assorted furry members of the family.

Hey, I'm doing a bit more theatre next week - going to see Fiddler on the Roof with Joe McGann at the Grand in Blackpool. I LOVE that musical. Not so sure about Joe McGann - I will reserve judgement!

I fear I might have put quite a lot of weight on this weekend Walked miles but eaten loads too. I've just phoned up a consultant for the cambridge diet - my SIL is on it and it is DROPPING OFF - mind you, nothing solid has passed her lips for a month..... oh well, think when I have tried this one I have a full house of dodgy diet plans. Getting quite annoyed actually because by God I'm healthier than I was thanks to the boys at the gym but I'm just as heffalumpy as ever

Zebedeedoodah · 27/03/2008 13:59

Me too! I haven't made it to the gym at all this week
And I think we should start planning an autumn meet-up. Anyone up for Oliver?!

Berrie · 27/03/2008 14:00

S'all muscle Binkle. Don't worry about it. Who'd want to be skinny and miserable anyway?

binkleandflip · 27/03/2008 14:13

I'd do Oliver- why not?

oggsfrog · 27/03/2008 14:14
oggsfrog · 27/03/2008 14:19

oops... that hand in the air was to wanting to be thin and miserable

oggsfrog · 27/03/2008 14:22

You're welcome to Oliver Binkle.... I'd do Hugh Jackman (fnar fnar) (lascivious )

Berrie · 27/03/2008 15:46

I go away for 5 minutes and look what you get up to!

Zebedeedoodah · 27/03/2008 16:40

Ooh, Hugh as Bill Sykes, Oggs? Have you watched those movies yet?!

Well, even if it's not Oliver, maybe we could come up with another one, but I reckon Sep/Oct would be good. Either that or we save it up for Christmas?

oggsfrog · 27/03/2008 20:01

Nah, Zeb. Not yet. 'Twas as I thought with Paperback Hero. I'd got it at a really low price and didn't think they'd send it. Sure enough I got a refund today with an 'ooh, it must have got lost in the post' email
So I ordered it off Amazon earlier. Fingers crossed I'll actually get it this time.
I've got The Prestige coming from the dvd club this weekend .

I'll have to stop buying things and start saving for our next meet up.

oggsfrog · 27/03/2008 20:03

Has this Oliver thingy started on tv yet? Any good? Who are the judges?
