Morning all. Wonder if any of you are around this weekend, tis normally a bit quiet.

Marmite I do NOT want your money for postage. It was only £2 something and you brought lovely lovely presents for all my children AND for me. Please see it as a pressie for little Connor.

Babies swapped round last night, so DS2 managed 7 hours and DD only managed 4.5. Both are still asleep now though. DS1 and I are watching..... TOY STORY!

DS1 currently has a lawnmower obsession. We went into town earlier, on the way we walked past the swings and he insisted we go in. Then we found a plastic toy push along lawnmower. He was over the moon. I asked the two dads there if it belonged to their DCs. One of them said it had been there since yesterday. DS1 said "mine" and left the swings pushing it. So now we have stolen some poor child's lawnmower . He LOVES it. He pushed it all the way into town, all the way round town and half the way home.

He is now racing up and down the house.

Phono hope you enjoyed the library and didn't get a huuuuge fine.

DD very snotty. Have suctioned about a litre of green stuff from her nose today.

marmitemad · 15/03/2008 12:50

I did the survey and chocs have arrived, will test them after lunch .

Some good news from me - Baby Connor might be coming home tomorrow although his mum has decided to bottlefeed. Am popping into hosp later to give her some support as hosp staff are giving her some grief over the bottle feeding.

Egg - Don't feel bad about the lawn mower, some random kids would prob have trashed it tonight anyway so at least it has a new home. Poor dd's nose, sending unblocking vibes down the M3!

Dropdeadfred · 15/03/2008 18:04

Hi all, dd3 has tonsillitus again...and swollen glands and a v.v. runny nose!!

We have booked our holiday!! Hurray..sardinia here we come!!

fryalot · 15/03/2008 19:55

evening

ooh, how exciting, you've booked the honeymoon, fred

egg - poor dd's blocked up nose. When we moved into this house, the previous occupants had left some bits, one of which was a plastic toy lawnmower (it used to blow bubbles as well) and it immediately because the littlies' favourite of favourite toys. I banned it to the garden as it had years of mud and gunk over it, but they still play with it out there even now.

phono - my library books were due back today and I deliberately couldn't be arsed

marmite - good news about connor coming home. Tell your sis from me that it is her choice how she wants to feed her son, and she is not to let the blardy hospital staff intimidate her.

Went swimming today, twas nice. It's nice sitting in the nice, warm toddler pool - it's the only time I can be absolutely guaranteed to be pretty much pain free, so it's a blardy relief ds thinks he can swim, he sort of floats with his arm bands on, and kicks his feet a bit and if he's lucky, he moves half an inch... but it makes him so happy

Then we had a pub lunch, did the charity shop trawl and came home to watch the rugby. Just getting ready for Casualty now

Egg · 16/03/2008 09:14

Ahhh squonky sounds like you had a nice day yesterday. Is the arthritis really bad at the mo? Poor you...

Bless your DS with his swimming . I feel so sad that my DS1 has not been swimming in 5 months when we used to go every week. Looking forward to hols so we can take him then.

Did you say misdee was pregnant?!?!? Woohoo. Looks like Peter's new ticker is working just fine then .

Taking DS1 to a party today. He is very excited as we have had to choose his menu for lunch and he is having sausage, chips and beans. He seems to think there will be cake as well.

Both DTs managed 6hrs in the night, but then DD only slept another 3 before she was whimpering because of her snot. I lay her head on my pillow on the floor and she passed out so I lay next to her but didn't dare go to sleep in case I squashed her. Was lovely though as she kept stroking my cheek in her sleep .

We are trying very hard to ensure she takes a bit more milk at each feed as she is so weedy. On Friday she had three very poor feeds of less than 100ml which is pathetic really for her age. She has now managed 5 in a row of 120ml and is pooing more...

DS2 only had one small poo in 4.5 days.

DS1 pooing pretty much once a day.

FRED - Sardinia is supposed to be lovely. Not been but would like to. Maybe I will come with you .

Right got to get myself bathed and hair washed so I don't look like a minger at this party (poor marmite had to see me with my hair in a pineapple...).

Squonk - sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday, about the arthritis, do you take anyhting for it?

we are going swimming when dd wakes up from her nap and dh gets out the bathroom. dd slept in until 09:15am this morning although was up at 01:30am for 30mins but she settled in the end without any drugs .

Egg - Hope you have a good time at the party, do you get food as well or are you leaving ds1 there and collecting later?

Fred - poor dd3, do you think they will take the tonsils out soon? Hooray on the honeymoon, can you post a link?

btw chocs were yum and I am still alive, have now eaten all my favs though (cappucino mousse) so am picking through the left overs

Egg · 16/03/2008 18:30

Ooops forgot to send sympathy to Fred's DD3 . Hope she is feeling a bit better.

Party was GREAT. Did stay with him but no food for adults. There is a cafe there though so you can get your own. I just ate his beans tho.

The box of chocs you gave me have all gone marmite (note to others, it was not a small one). DH had none. DS1 had none. Obviously DTs had none .

Babies apparently cried the whole time (4 hours) DS1 and I were out. DD is v snotty still.

Going to bed as soon as DS1 does tonight as DTs feeds are all crappy times and they will be feeding a bit too early tonight so hence will prob wake a bit earlier in night.

May not get on much tomorrow as have friend and small children coming (and dog)............

marmitemad · 16/03/2008 21:14

Good luck with the visitors (and dog) tomorrow

All my chocs are gone as well , just got back from Mums roast dinner with profiteroles for pudding and I ate a huge choc muffin round friends house this afternoon, feelign a bit lardy now

ChocolateSquonkyEggs · 16/03/2008 21:16

hello marmite

did you have a nice day then? Apart from the food, which sounds gorgeous

marmitemad · 16/03/2008 22:13

it was ok, weather was miserable (very cold and wet), swimming pool was packed and for some reason made me feel really down again.

The girlie gathering didn't make me feel any better and when I picked up dh and dd from inlaws, FIL gave me a hug and we both had a few tears, which was a bit surprising and upsetting, although good for him to be able to grieve a little (dh said he's never seen his dad cry in 36 years!) and they had a house full of their friends as they'd been out for dinner.

I just feel really lost, mean and selfish for not having seen SIL yet even though its what she wants atm. Am going to text her again tomorrow as MIL thinks I should just find an excuse to go round there .

love your easter name, Squonk

Dropdeadfred · 16/03/2008 22:29

Here you go girlies!!

Sun sun sun I hope....

Egg..that's so cute about your little dd stroking your face in her sleep...sorry they both yelled for the whole time you were out. Did DH have them?

Did someone say Misdee was pregnant? That's brilliant!!

Marmite - your feelings are so normal, you're grieving and because you haven't seen your SIL that process has been stalled...of course it feels sad and wrong to be surrounded by 'normal' happy people doing normal happy things. I would repsect your SIL's wishes for a few more days and would then probably go round regardless...

ChocolateSquonkyEggs · 17/03/2008 08:03

morning all.

marmite - I think I agree with fred. I know you want to see her, and I think that deep down she needs to see you too, but at the moment she isn't ready for this. She will be. Give her a little while longer and when you do go round, take a bottle of wine and polish off the lot between you (on the other hand, two bottles of wine is maybe a better idea)

fred - villa looks fantabulously wondrous

Have dd1 off school today so I shall be in and out of MN while I try to make it look like I am busy, busy, busy all day long (don't want her to think that I sit on my backside all day chatting to you lot )

She's fine, btw - but been VERY stroppy, which last time meant that she was having major problems at school so have told her that she can stay off today and she can tell me what is going on. She agreed, which made me even more suspicious that something is wrong... she has been really enjoying school recently. I'll let you know if I get anything out of her.

Even if she doesn't open up, I don't think it will do any harm for us to have a girlie day at home watching neighbours together (as long as she doesn't talk then )

Mamma Mia!

Italiano Spaghetti Bolognese Chianti Pizza Napoli

nope. That's it. Can't even think of how to ask for two beers - and I can do that in about seven languages

Nowt wrong with dd1. She's been really stroppy and the last time she was like that was when she was being bullied, so I jumped to conclusions - said she could have the day off and we can talk.

She is not being bullied, just tired and grumpy.

So she is my slave for the day.

So I may be here a lot after all
