Just setting this up in good time so we can link to it before we lose each other...

It is not going well so far .

DTs are screaming and screaming. Bit unlike them. I can now see how my life would have been if it had been like this the last 14 weeks. I would be in an asylum I think. DS1 being sweet but destructive. Whole house is entirely filled with toys that have been got out and tipped out and thrown around.

Egg - do yourself a favourand invest in blackout lining for thei bedroom windows...my life changed when we bought some.

Can you gor for a walk with them if they are driving you bonkers? [sympathy]

Squonk - sorry you feel crap...

Egg · 18/04/2008 10:20

DS1 has blackout blinds but it is just the travel one that sticks on as can't fit actual blinds because we are renting. He also has blackout lining on curtains but curtains are on pole along top of wall above window so leave gaps at top and sides.

DTs are not affected by light mornings yet.

My only real prob today is the erratic feeding of DD. She basically had 130ml at 4am, so then had a top-up feed at 7:30am of 50ml to get her to approx 10:30/11am (she has even gone til 11:30am on this before) but she has been screaming the house down for ages and it wasn't tiredness. Gave in and fed her at 9:50 (never normally would, but then she never normally screams so much) and she had just 70ml and wont take any more. She is perfectly happy now, but it means she will be starving again well before 4 or even 3 hours, and we will be doing this all day, with silly small feeds. I just hate not knowing where I am with the feeds, it means we can't even risk leaving the house as I may end up having to feed her (normally know I have hours between each feed). Do not want to have to stop and feed her while.

Sorry, just ranting to myself to try and make myself feel better. I know it is not even a big problem, just bothering me. We have no bread, no orange juice, nothing for dinner etc .

had a bath and got dressed, so have perked up a teeny bit

egg - I second fred's blackout blind suggestion. Have never used them myself, but if you have a child that wakes up when it is daylight, they must be a fab investment.

Do not worry about a floor full of toys (just be careful you don't fall over them) and don't let the DTs get you down. You are fab at this mum stuff - don't let one day of them being pitas knock your confidence.

Ou est la phono et le marmitey one?

oh phono - tis horrible when you get sinus pain! You can't even reach it to rub it better. You have my sympathy.

Dropdeadfred · 18/04/2008 10:44

Egg....you may find that sticking velcro to the outside of the window frame, then sticking a blackout sheet over the entire window will help. Then it can be ripped down during the day...

We used to have the gaps at the top and sides and it was crap so we blocked the whole windoww...hurray no early waking !!! And a lot easier to get her to go to bed in the summer as she thinks it is dark!!

Hi Phono.sorry you are feeling crap.I hate sinuses!!

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 10:45

WRONG!!! I am back. I am better now. I forced myself out of the house and felt better immediately. Pushed the horrors (well both boys) round while DD was in sling, went to ELC and the got takeaway McDonalds for the way home . DS2 cried a bit but DD was fine and has now gone more than three hours since last pathetic feed. DS2 gone nearly four. Not sure what will happen with feeds later but at least DD might take a reasonable amount. Both are playing at the mo!

Fred good luck with the makeup! I used a lady who I think was based down your way. She was very good. I can't quite remember where she was though but can find out. I don't normally wear makeup really but she made me look PRETTY!!!!

Phono sorry you are feeling crappy too. My cold has not quite arrived. I remembered it is time of the month here as well which prob did not help my earlier meltdown.

Forgot to say earlier, Marmite glad you had a good bday. My MIL used to always comment when I had a lie in when we stayed with them (before DCs), always some little dig about how long she had been up busy in the kitchen.

Egg - you are very pretty....so she would not have had to work hard!!!

Egg · 18/04/2008 13:10

Ahhh thanks Fred, but you saw me when I was "blooming" with that pregnancy glow (actually I nearly fainted during the first 10 mins of us meeting IIRC as I was low on food and water and had to sit down). I am a lot more haggard now.

Of course when I look back I realise I should have been grateful for my looks back in the days of my wedding, I am a lot more hideous with each year . Bags are huge today due to a few tears and a lot of growling. Got a bad habit of clenching my teeth when I am stressed for some reason which makes my head hurt.

Neither baby is asking for food. Tis all a bit strange.

Awwww egg, I wish we could help...

I do remember you being very pretty and young and slim!!(and feeling faint) on the pier...I was too busy pining for fish and chips to be much help

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 18/04/2008 14:29

(I thought egg was very pretty as well )

sorry, phono - went out. I shall take lots of pics this afternoon, of the view from my living room window, of my kids having a tantrum... anything you like
