phono - glad to see your starvation tactics diet is working on dp.

marmite - just logged on to say that I am thinking of you and your family today

Dropdeadfred · 15/04/2008 10:48

Phono - they never replied!! I need to chase them up!! V. slack customer service tho..

Squonk - sleep any better last night?

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 10:51

oh yes fred! twas wonderful!

they were both asleep by 8.15, and dd1 decided that University challenge offended her sensibilities, so she disappeared off to bed as well.

I went up at 10.30 and was asleep almost immediately. Was woken up by dp nudging me at 6.30 to get up and take him to the train station.

I feel especially tired today, but I think that's because I have slept iykwim. (ds in a fab mood as well - I suspect that is because he slept well)

Well Phono, you could try telling them that they received an email on 4/4/08 and they haven't replied!!!

Dropdeadfred · 15/04/2008 11:24

I just find it very hard to make 'sensible' phonecalls during the day as dd3 butts in all the time or goes ominously quiet and i have to abandon the call to rescue her from inside the tumble dryer!!

Phono - if you are able that would be great. Can you say you are making enquiries on my behalf and that i want a creche at Creeksea Place, Burnham-on-crouch for approx 10 kids aged 2-12. Starting time about 3pm for approx 3-4 hrs? I need to know cost too.

If not don't worry I will spam them tirelessly email them again sometime soon...

evening all, did you know I have TWO Blue Peter badges!

Today has been very sad but went as well as it could have done.

I took along a small bunch of grape hyacinths and forget me nots from my garden wrapped in pink tissue paper and ribbon on the spur of the moment. The service was very moving with beautiful music and a lovely story about a baby bunny. My mum looked after dd and baby connor at the out-laws and everyone went back there for brunch and then we each released a pink helium balloon with "you were so beautiful" printed on, I think there were over 50 so it was quite a sight. The weather has been outstanding so we have spent the afternoon outside drinking beer/wine/tea, playing football, skipping games and chatting. Everyone has shed some tears but I think it was a fitting tribute to such a beautiful angel (her pic is on SILs profile btw). I didn't want to leave but we hadn't taken dinner/milk for dd and now I just feel so exhausted (didn't sleep well last night).

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 19:33

oh marmite, that sounds lovely. Very sad occasion, that nobody should have to go through, but it sounds like a lovely, lovely tribute to her.

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 19:50

Marmite - just had a look at your SIL's thread, and pics. Eris is truly beautiful.

(what did you get two blue peter badges for?)

marmitemad · 15/04/2008 20:16

Badge no. 1 : My mum started buying BP annuals for me when I was about 5 and then decided to track down every single one , so I own all BP annuals ever issued (they are currently sitting in my loft)

Badge no. 2 : we used to take our moggie cats to a cat show at Olympia when we were younger and my mum always entered them in the BP classes, my cat won 2nd prize twice but never came 1st (we would have had to go on the show if he had won)

thank you for your kind words, everyone. dh has now gone to bed after drinking beer since 11:30am so I am sitting here drinking a smoothie wondering what to eat for tea (he had promised me Indian takeaway although I have eaten an unfeasible amount of bacon rolls and carrot cake today)

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 20:20

I always wanted a BP badge.

My brother made me one once, but the pritt stick wouldn't stick the badge to my clothes and it all fell apart.

But hey, at least he tried

marmitemad · 15/04/2008 20:24

Squonk, you can have one of mine if I can find it

I really should shift my butt off here and go and sew a cushion thing for a chair dd is using at my mums (which was my dads ), has got some really nice yellow fabric with jungle animals on it or I could go and open a nice bottle of wine

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 20:32

thank you marmite. But you can't just receive a BP badge because someone else (you) is lovely. You have to earn a BP badge. Officially. Presented by Valerie Singleton. Licked by Shep. Walked on by Fred(a) the tortoise...

You may as well go straight for the wine...
