Just setting this up in good time so we can link to it before we lose each other...

morning everyone

How are you all today? Kids up in the night, but my lovely dp saw to them, so I wasn't particularly disturbed - other than waking up a little bit as he laid another child in our bed

Dd2 is having a friend over for dinner this afternoon, then we're all off to toddler group, so I won't be here much after 11 today.

Dp wants to go to watch motor racing in May instead of visiting my mum Have told him he can go on his own Every time we make a decision about what we're doing (even if it's what to watch on telly) he mutters to himself "unless your bloody mother has made other arrangements of course" If he ever listened to me then he would know what we're doing! If he ever looked at the farking calendar he would know what we're doing! sheesh! MEN!

Dropdeadfred · 16/04/2008 10:11

Hi Squonk...Hmm does DP have parents? Sometimes I do feel that my parents just expect that wewill be available to see them and to be honest I don't mind, but think DP feels it is unfairly weighted on my familys'side rather than his....still there is Brighton to consider..tell him to get the train to see the cars!!

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 16/04/2008 10:53

no. He doesn't have parents. Perhaps he really does feel put out then? hmm... interesting. I was just putting it down to him being a bit twunty at the moment

He wants to take the kids to see the cars. I have said it's too dangerous (probably isn't, but I wouldn't be happy with him taking them on his own)

We're at an impasse, but I shall get my way, partly because I always do, partly because I never go anywhere so my wishes come first and partly because he's not that bothered about going, he just thinks he is iykwim.

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 16/04/2008 10:55

and it's not that my mum assumed we would go.
My nephew is getting confirmed and we have been invited down. Because it falls at the end of half term week, it is convenient for us to go. I have now made arrangements to meet up with you lot because I am going anyway and all of this has been discussed with him, agreed with him and organised around him.

He has just now forgotten about that because it suits him.

Dropdeadfred · 16/04/2008 10:56

I admire your certainty Squonk...lol

phono - he is big enough to go on his own, but he doesn't want to (insert whiney dp voice)

He is also invited to nephew's confirmation and expected to attend (although he did say that he's not spending hours getting cold in a catholic church watching somebody else's kid make promises he's not going to keep when there are fingers to be chewed off - or something along those lines...)

can you stop people ringing me, phono? like the people who want me to buy a mobile phone? Or the people who want to know which insurance company I'm with, or those who want to know if I want a credit card...

(we stopped them all, and they stopped for months, but they're slowly but surely creeping in again)

Fred - want me to send my mum round (or my brother in uniform ) to the venue to kick some ass?

Egg · 16/04/2008 16:13

AM BACK! DID YOU MISS ME? My sis and lovely children have gone home . It was so nice having them here. DS1 was over the moon. He sobbed when it was time to say goodbye.

Marmite so sorry I missed that it was the funeral yesterday. I had a look at SIL's profile, Eris is indeed so beautiful. It is so sad. I did a search for her name to find her profile and found loads of her posts on TTC and due in March and it made me so sad for her. Hope she is doing ok.

Squonky what uniform does your bro wear?????????

Phono are you indeed really a PA? I was a sec in my former life, I used to enjoy being nasty on the phone to people who were crap. Always nice to most people though .

Both babies slept for the whole three hours we were out earlier, but are yelling now so had better go and sing to them (they seem to like it). DS1 is sleeping as he had a long day. Will get him up in 20 mins.

Fred, how is WW going? We are doing a weigh in on Feb postnatal thread each Monday as lots of us want to shed a pound or two. I am failing though as keep eating too much. So far today have had

Bowl of porridge
Cornish Pasty
Half of DS1's gingerbread man
LARGE choc muffin
Pack of GIANT choc buttons
1 Coffee
1 Tea

Am having pie for supper tonight, followed by cake and accompanied by wine. May start wine a bit early as bottle is already open from last night. Will wait til 5pm though.

my bro doesn't actually wear the uniform any more, but it's still in his wardrobe I think

can't remember how we did it, twas when I was bfing ds, and the phone would ring every time I had dd2 settled and asleep, just started to feed ds, phone goes, I have to disturb them both to answer the phone to tell some twat that no, I don't want to change my electricity supplier... grr

I don't mind them any more, now that I don't have sleeping children lying around.
