Thread 175 - will we never shut up?! Pull up a chair and have a good whinge about domestic tedium and annoyingly fictional HBFs... (once we've finished the other thread).

Morning all. Sunny again here, with a bit more blue sky than yesterday morning.

I was well ahead of schedule this morning until DS came back through the door - he'd forgotten it's a non-uniform day (thank goodness for other children at the bus stop so he wasn't stuck on the bus before he realised (disaster!). So I've just been doing the school run, and came home to an enthusiastic greeting from next door's chickens - in out garden Hmm I have them a handful of corn which will obviously do nothing to stop them coming to visit, but they're entertaining.

Hope the funeral goes as well as it can LetUs and that everyone has a good day.

Afternoon. Sunshine and showers here, but I got a wash load mostly dry on the line.

Shock at non-uniform panic, but Grin at next door’s chickens.

Hope the funeral went as well as these things can LetUs.

LetUsPrey · 15/03/2024 18:29

Evening wenches.

Grin at next door’s chickens. Also eeek at the non-uniform day almost being missed. I remember DS1 forgetting a red, white and blue dress up day at primary school. We’d parked up and then I saw all these children walking to school not in uniform. Oh yeah, he said, it’s a non-uniform day. Luckily had chance to get him home, get him changed and get back to school.

Funeral went well. Surprising how tiring being around lots of people is, even when you like most of them.

Tonight can be another early night I think.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 15/03/2024 21:32

Evening all.
Today has mostly involved me swearing at financial cock-ups, and conflicting systems/'computer says no' moments. I have not been a happy bunny, and I have eaten a lot of chocolate to get me through the day. On the plus side the weather has been sunny most some of the day, and no rain until this evening. And tomorrow is Saturday - hurrah. Though no lie-in since I'll be out helping put up signs for village easter fair thingy in the morning. Then Sunday will involve a visit from a friend and her 4yo (lovely, but tiring), and Monday is a funeral.
There endeth the stream of diarykeeping.

Evening

Work has been very worky. Was struggling to understand some info that the current client had sent through so had a video call with them. Not surprised I was confused as they seem to have gone somewhat rogue in their application of a policy. Am awaiting a fresh set of data that is more erm, compliant. I never cease to be amazed at client's creativity in coming up with weird shit. Hey ho. I hadn't met them before & they were very nice, so it could be worse.

Chonk & Floof are getting more and more confident with me. Chonk is looking less chonky I think, but Floof seems to be expanding Confused trouble is it's hard to tell if its chonk or more floof.

Are you escaping the cold apricot?

I quite like that Swedish entry ww, will be interested to see it live.

Glad the chickens are settling in helen

Given how much higher up we are here, it's surprising how neighbouring towns seem to have similar issues to you - a month's worth of flooding in one & on my commute there is a lane shut on the dual carriageway due to all the tankers parked up to deal with the sewage & floodwater overspill.

Glad the funeral went well Letus

LetUsPrey · 16/03/2024 08:19

Morning wenches.

Ah clients and their creativity Fancy. We also have those but of an entirely different sort Grin

Squeeee at Chonk and Floof settling in ❤️

Hope the weather stays fine for you Helen and the fair goes well.

Sunny here but rather chilly. Usual Saturday planned with additional birthday card delivery which will hopefully include playing with a toddler for a bit.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/03/2024 08:32

Morning all.

It's bright and sunny. OR was - it seems to be clouding over with ominous grey clouds. Hurrah Hmm I'd rather go back to bed tbh.

Yay for Floof and Chonk settling in and Hmm at creative clients. Hope the toddler visit is fun LetUs

Morning, am lazing around, reading in bed with Chonk and Floof. Well I'm reading and they're grooming.

Need to do some work today, and some shopping - on-line and in person. Oh, and some laundry. The excitement!

Parents continue to be a worry - well mostly DSM and her behaviour towards DDad. It's horrible 😞

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/03/2024 16:44

<cwtch> Fancy, it sounds awful and so frustrating for you not being able to sort it out.

I have been playing with a chainsaw today Grin The tree at the front of the house is back to being a shrub, and I've cut back another tree that was starting to swamp a rather nice apple tree. My back will probably not thank me for it later...

Currently throwing together an early tea for me and DS before heading out to sporting competition

Afternoon. Dull day but no rain and not cold.

I don’t like to tempt fate Fancy but it’s been three days since we saw DGS so fingers crossed we’ve escaped the cold. Glad Chonk and Floof are getting more confident. It does take them time; we’d had Misty for three months before she jumped onto my lap. Sorry about your DDad worries.

Hope the toddler play went well LetUs and good luck with the sporting competition Helen.

LetUsPrey · 16/03/2024 19:20

Evening wenches.

Oh Fancy that sounds very stressful and upsetting <many cwtches>. The lazy morning sounds lovely.

Oooo at playing with a chainsaw Helen! Good luck to whoever’s competing this evening,

Excellent that you’ve hopefully escaped the cold Apricot.

Toddler play was excellent. He’s such a squidge Smile

Hope Wicked hasn’t coughed herself into oblivion.

LetUsPrey · 17/03/2024 08:18

Morning wenches.

Dry for the moment but much rain forecast for all the day.

Plan is ironing, visiting, knitting, possibly bath’n’book.

Hope wenches have better weather and good days.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2024 08:25

Morning all. Damp here with light rain on and off. SportingEvent went well last night, but DS was disappointed with himself that he didn't do better.

The house needs a good tidy, so I'm sitting on the sofa and thinking about going bac to bed now the fur and feathers are fed.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 17/03/2024 16:34

Afternoon. Sunny day here, but I haven’t been out.

Not much going on, I’ve got up to date with the ironing and I’m now trying to knit with a cat on me. Grin

Oh, DS has erected a pop-up greenhouse in the garden and is busy planting stuff, no idea what. Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/03/2024 20:13

Evening all.

5yo's are lovely, but very tiring. Especially after yesterdays efforts with the chainsaw. It's been mostly damp here today.

I read that as 'knitting a cat' Apricot Grin DH has been planting seeds as well.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 17/03/2024 21:10

Evening wenches.

I too read it as knitting a cat Grin

Just as well the chainsaw and five year old weren’t on the same day.

Usual Sunday stuff. Did some more of the longest knitting project (cardigan for msyelf) and then did bath’n’book. Also started a jigsaw for the first time in quite a while.

LetUsPrey · 18/03/2024 07:26

Morning wenches.

Oh look, it’s Monday again.

I’ve realised I’ve messed up a row on my knitting for the cardigan. I’m not sure how obvious it will be but it will be noticeable, but it’s a lot of stitches and rows to redo. Fucksake what a muppet. Ah well can’t do anything about it now and probably won’t touch it again until the weekend.

Weather seems very undecided here - in terms of raining, not knitting.

Hope funeral goes as well as it can Helen.

Have lovely days wenches.

ApricotCrush · 18/03/2024 17:06

Afternoon. Nice day, the washing has dried without me having to dash out to get it in. Hmm

I had some errands to run this morning and the bloody car wouldn’t start so I had to wait for DH to come home to put the battery charger on it. I do love my car but it’s very old and is sometimes unreliable. Sad Anyway I got most of the jobs done.

Oh dear, shame about the knitting LetUs.

Grin at knitting a cat.

ApricotCrush · 18/03/2024 17:08

Hope the funeral went as well as can be expected Helen. Sad

LetUsPrey · 18/03/2024 19:31

Evening wenches.

<stern look> at Apricot’s car. Behave yourself.

Hope today was okay Helen.

It was actually light when I got home from work! Woohoo!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/03/2024 21:38

How bloody annoying re. the cardigan and the car battery LetUs/Apricot

Funeral went well, but a long day - 7-8 hours in the car. Nice to meet lots of relatives I haven't seen before (and probably won't again until the next funeral!) And now I have a days worth of work to catch up on. Not right now, obvs. Now is more like<nto> fall into bed time.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 19/03/2024 07:37

Morning wenches.

That sounds a very long day Helen.

Lots of rain here which seems to have stopped for now. Trying to summon enthusiasm for the day. It seems to have run away. Far away.

Have lovely days wenches.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/03/2024 09:35

Morning all. I have been out to do the stretchy bendy exercise class, and now I need to work. If someone could just find me my motivation, that would be handy? Especially since I've been asked to take on another project. <dusts down the time turner> Perhaps my motivation has eloped with LetUs's enthusiasm.

There has been blue sky this morning, but I can only see cloud now and I've no idea if we're due rain or not.

Hope everyone has a good day and that wicked's not feeling rough still.

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 19/03/2024 17:43

Evening. Cloudy day, but not cold.

That does sound like a tiring day Helen. I only see my relatives, well cousins, at funerals and even they are diminishing now. Hmm

DS is cooking the meal and I expect the kitchen to look like Master Chef, so I’m keeping away.

Have a good evening all.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/03/2024 18:48

Evening. I'm feeling much better but still a bit tired and still coughing a bit, but I can sleep lying down so that's great. I have surgery planned on Friday so really hope I can go through with it.

Otherwise work is crap, crap, crap.

It's so nice to hear about Chonk and Floof ❤

Hope all wenches had a nice day 😀
