Thread 175 - will we never shut up?! Pull up a chair and have a good whinge about domestic tedium and annoyingly fictional HBFs... (once we've finished the other thread).

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark. Go back to bed everyone, it's not worth it.

Morning wenches.

Tap is fixed, as is door to kitchen. I heard allllllll about both in great detail.

That’s the best advice I’ve heard for a long time Helen. Really isn’t worth it is it?

Suppose I had actually better get going. Le sigh.

ApricotCrush · 11/01/2024 16:32

Afternoon. Another dreary day. I have done a wash, did some ironing that’s been hanging around for a while before Christmas and knitted.

Ohhh, I remember nits Helen. By the time I found out about it we all had to be treated. I was paranoid about it for ages.

Glad MrLetUs shared his accomplishments with you LetUs. Hmm

It’s nearly Friday WW.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 11/01/2024 19:10

Everything feels a bit crap at the moment, among other things I went to the GP:s office yesterday to see a nurse about a bleeding abscess and she also discovered what seems to be anal fistulas. There were also a medical student in the room, wich was ok, they were supposed to be three but I said no to that Confused So waiting for an appointment at the big hospital, whenever that might be.

The good thing is that I borrowed a bottle of wine from nice landladies yesterday so I got some hugs, and also was attacked by their superhappy puppy, so much energy, that cheered me up. And then I got some homemade bread, and this afternoon I found another bottle of wine of my doorstep Smile I can't believe people like this exist Smile

LetUsPrey · 11/01/2024 20:10

Evening wenches.

That actually sounds an okay way to spend the day Apricot.

Oh flipping heck Wicked that sounds so horrid. Hope whatever’s going on is easily fixable. Your landladies just get better and better!

Work was blah, broken up by someone asking for help because their typing was coming out in all capitals. The highly technical solution of pressing the caps lock key seemed to do the trick 🙄

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/01/2024 20:57

Oh Wicked - that's rough. I hope you get an appointment soon. Sad Your landladies are lovely though.

Absolute LOL at the caps lock tech support LetUs Grin

Morning wenches. It's a repeat of yesterday morning, with the solver lining of, 'Yay! Friday!'. But still, Daaaaaaaaaaaaaark. Stay in bed and keep warm.

SILVER, FFS. Silver lining.

Morning wenches.

I wish I could say that sort of level of request was unusual, but it’s not.

Grin Helen at typo but excellent use of caps lock there.

Seems to have taken an awful long time to get to Friday but we’re here at last.

Here’s to uneventful days of calm all round.

FancyFancy · 12/01/2024 09:00

Morning. Have a course at work this morning, hope it's not toooo tedious.

Fingers crossed the doctor can do something to help with that ww it sounds unpleasant, yay for lovely landladies though!

😆at caps lock fiasco!

Nits? <Starts scratching>

Hoping DD will be back on Sunday night to watch more Money Heist - we are planning a family visit to a cat shelter to meet a couple of cuties <crosses everything>

ApricotCrush · 12/01/2024 17:16

Evening, still miserable and dark.

Oh WW, that sounds awful, hope you can get an appointment quickly. <cwtch> Lovely landladies though.

Grin at your technical expertise LetUs.

Oooo at cat shelter visit Fancy.

LetUsPrey · 12/01/2024 19:22

Evening wenches.

Work was aaaarrrggghhhh and full on to home time. Weekend now though so pfft to all that.

Squeeeeee at cat shelter visit Fancy! Have you set yourself an upper limit? Say two kittens/cats, definitely no more than five, oh okay then six? Grin

Miserable and dark sums it up Apricot.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/01/2024 21:11

Evening all. DS has had his mocks result. I am now simultaneously #ProudParent, and also irked because I can't say "See, I told you that you needed to revise more" Confused

Work was also relatively full on - not helped by being asked to proof read a 60-page document - at 3:30pm Hmm No prizes for guessing that I didn't get that done!

Hurrah for meeting Cuties Fancy - even better if there are cats too Grin

In other news, the super-duper nit comb has arrived. I will prevail!!!! Hmm

Morning wenches.

Well done MiniHelen! ⭐️ I know exactly what you mean though Helen 😁

Usual house stuff that I want to get done before I settle down with knitting, and then we’re off out for dinner tonight.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/01/2024 08:43

Morning all. Grey and dreary outside again. IdiotKitty has been having a fit of the zoomies and trying to kill anyone within reach. I have a list<nto> of things to do today.... it's all in my head, so I will doubtless forget some completely by the time I get round to doing anything.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 13/01/2024 11:25

Morning, a day of some dull chores ahead. As Helen says, the wrong sort of list.

ApricotCrush · 13/01/2024 16:41

Afternoon. Same here, very depressing.

Well done to MiniHelen. Star

I am also knitting. That’s it really.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/01/2024 18:46

Evening. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaark.. though actually it is getting lighter in the evenings.

I have blasted through my list<nto - I wish>, I'm very impressed with myself. It's not like there's not lots that still needs doing (always), but I've done some stuff that's been hanging round for ages.

Hope that knitting and other nto-lists have gone well. We are having steaks to celebrate DS's results - any excuse Grin

Evening wenches.

Meal out was delicious and I am now the size of a spacious bungalow.

Finished one knitting project, the other two remain ongoing.

Am hoping the food and wine will aid a good night’s sleep.

LetUsPrey · 14/01/2024 08:36

Morning wenches.

Looks dry outside but fairly chilly. Usual Sunday plus baking today. May today drag its heels.

Hope wenches have restful days and you’re feeling okay Wicked.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/01/2024 10:48

Morning wenches. <arf> at LetUs being a small bungalow - I was a bit stuffed last night as well.

Bit of a lie-in today, which was nice. Chilly outside with occasional patches of blue sky showing behind the clouds. We have no firm plans.

Nit update - OMG, NittyGritty combs is amazeballs!

Hope that everyone has a good day - especially fingers crossed for Fancy's cat expedition.

WIcked - we need more details of the SuperHappy puppy!

ApricotCrush · 14/01/2024 16:33

Afternoon. Showers and a bit of sun here, but very cold as I discovered on my only outing to the dustbin.

Grin at size of a spacious bungalow.

Glad the nit comb is good.

Awaiting news of the cat shelter visit…

FancyFancy · 14/01/2024 17:06

WE HAVE CATS!!!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE 😁

LetUsPrey · 14/01/2024 18:42

Evening wenches.

Squeeeeeeee at cats! This is exciting news! May they be squidged and cuddled and worshipped as only cats should be.

Excellent news on the nit comb front.

We had some sun but cold here as well. No rain forecast so it rained.

I’ve washed and ironed and baked and knitted. Had a bath’n’book.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 14/01/2024 21:57

Cold here too. I have done bugger all except yomp a couple of miles up and down a beach.

Excellent cat news; I haven't done our dustbins - arse.
