Thread 175 - will we never shut up?! Pull up a chair and have a good whinge about domestic tedium and annoyingly fictional HBFs... (once we've finished the other thread).

Evening. I have no idea what we've done today - some tidying, a hair wash, eaten chocolate. Um.... Idiot Kitty threw up earlier (foamy liquid) so I think he may be a bit under the weather.

Seemed a bit lighter when I woke up this morning but I must have imagined it.

Have to carry on with an online course sort of thing that I started before the Christmas break. Dull doesn’t even cover it but it’s compulsory. Hurrah for Friday though!

IdiotKitty is properly off his food and been to see the vet, who prodded on poked him and sent me off with expensive food. He ought to perk up this afternoon apparently, though he's fine in himself, apart from not wanting food other than a few crumbs of cheese, a dozen kitten biscuits, and a few slurps of milk. And a couple of dreamies. Which are all his ultimate 'treat' food. He's certianly not impressed with the liquid food stuff he's been given. <le slightly worried sigh> I hope that Misty is doing better now, we can't have all the Tav Cats being ill at once.

DH has gone off to help with sporting stuff, DS is on his xbox, and I'm having late lunch and doing washing - the first load is mostly getting drier on the line before I bring it back in to finish off.

Hope that LetUs's online course hasn't sent her to sleep...

Afternoon. Nice day but I haven’t ventured out.

Oh no, poor IdiotKitty, hope he’s better soon. Misty has finished the antibiotics and is back to normal but I’m still nervous that it will come back. No reason, but that’s just me.

We’re having everyone round this evening for turkey curry and have sliced the remaining turkey up and put it in the freezer. So that’s that.

I had turkey sandwiches for lunch at work yesterday and Wednesday.

Online course didn’t happen because a load of work came through which needed doing straight away.

You put washing out Helen?! We’ve had torrential rain again.

DS2 wants to play a football quiz game again so we’ll do that and then I think I’ll have an early night.

No rain here - just wind. IdiotKitty is still not eating back to the vet tomorrow. Glad to hear that Misty is better though.

Washing and housework and general weekend stuff today.

Morning all. Arghhhh. Idiot Kitty seems improved this morning - he slurped up a sachet of re-hydration puree without too much biscuit-related bribery (so he's eating biscuits again.) One of the cats has yacked up a hairball overnight, but no idea which - just to add to the confusion. I have no idea whether to try and get him in at the vet again or not. I'm veering toward not, since he's eating biscuits at least. It's just that if I don't get him in this morning and then he needs to go back in the next couple of days, it's LOTS of money. Argh...

I'm staying home at New Years Eve, got sick, coughing, headache and tired. Typical when I got invited to dinner at nice landladies

Well, just to finish the year off nicely, we’ve all tested positive for Covid, except for DS who I’m sure has it but he can’t be bothered. I’m asymptomatic except for a drippy nose, no doubt because I had it two months ago, but I tested out of interest. Poor DD and Co were going to the theatre tonight but that’s out now.

Hope IdiotKitty is continuing to improve.

Idiot Kitty has been bribed into eating his normal food, so that's massive progress. It wasn't a lot, but he's eaten some. Hurrah! DH is on a mission to replace his car. <Le HUMUNGOUS sigh> There will now be conversations ad nauseum about the comparative benefits of various cars and how none of them are quite right... <sobs>

Have been lazy today - went to the garden centre to snaffle some bargain decorations for next year - all at 50% off which was satisfying. DC went off last night & seemed happy with their presents - it was an unexpectedly quiet evening, lots of food, not much booze & some mellow puzzling which was very relaxing.

Yikes at all the illing wenches - off to the Tav infirmary with the lot of you, along with IdiotKitty - rest, relaxation & faf is prescribed.

Evening. I have spent the day doing not much really (reading) until mid-afternoon when we had a fit of wood-splitting (manshapes) and hacking brambles out of the rambling rose (me). I should have done that earlier, I feel much better for having got out and done something useful.

Is it New Year's Eve? We have plans to fall asleep. I also need to bake a cake to use up the black bananas and use as a pudding.

Forgot to say - I got the new Strike book for Xmas. Apart from the first couple of chapters of rather clunky exposition to introduce recurring characters to new readers, it was a good page turner.

I got knock-down decorations a couple of days before Xmas at Emporium d'Asda The stairs now have warm white lights twinkling their way upstairs.

Morning wenches. Happy new year. I saw the new year in all snuggled up in bed - though not asleep because of fireworks. In related news, a local facebook page has had people winging because their display wasn't big or loud enough. (It was advertised as a free display, with 'low bang' fireworks. Honestly, some people...!)

This morning I came down to the most humungously huge pile of cat vom I've ever seen - Idiot Kitty was trying to cover it up, literally, using DS's homework that had also been left lying on the floor . No idea what was in it, but it looked enough to make anyone hurl, so...! He's now had Breakfast1 and Breakfast2 and has settled down for a snooze on the chair.

Everyone else is still asleep, so I'm thinking I'll make New Year's breakfast pancakes for me, and DH/DS can have some (one each) when they eventually emerge.

Happy New Year wenches. It’s raining for a change. I’ve mainly been a cat bed today. I feel knackered, will be glad when DS goes back to work tomorrow and DH goes back to golf, although the course is shut at the moment because of the rain. I need some alone time.
